Hello po,

Converge subscriber po. It has been more or less 5 days na na hindi maka login sa League of Legends client and walang feedback from LoLPH FB page or Garena support kung hindi ang ISP daw ang may problema.

Anyone that is experiencing the same issue? Mukhang exclusive to Converge subscribers kasi (some sa Sky Fiber but not sure).

Karamihan, ginawa ng workaround ang Exit Lag, kaso trial for three days lang iyon.

Let's keep this thread para ma update natin sarili natin.

This is similar to the PLDT Ultera issue before (yung hindi maka login ng todo sa Garena due to IP addresses being re-routed sa ibang gateway or something.)

This also happened to a cousin, Converge subscriber din sya. I advised him to try and avail a dedicated IP VPN, which he did. Medyo alanganin pa sya sa simula kasi nga may bayad din yun but it worked. It even added a boost in his gaming performance since static IP sya. If you don't want to spend extra naman, you can try switching DNS servers, that could also help. You can check which DNS is faster for specific game servers and use those. Maraming online tools (websites) that you can use to test different DNS servers. Goodluck TS.

I used to work for an ISP many years ago as an independent contructor. Sa mga customers who uses shared dynamic IP addresses na may issue sa high ping, lag, low up/down speed, high up/down speed pero low throughput, intermittent connection, etc., normally it's caused by congestion. ISPs uses NAT on their routers before they can "distribute" the Internet to their subscribers. And lahat ng subscribers na ito ay napapaloob sa tinatawag na Metropolitan Area Network or MAN. It the same concept as LAN sa home network natin mas malaki lang sya.

Now normally, ISPs would provide IPv4 addresses (dynamic) to subscribers unfortunately yung pool ng free IPv4 addresses had run out ilang taon na nakakalipas, so the solution is to use IPv6. (this is part of what they call Internet Load Balancing or Failover). Kaso if your application doesn't support or is not configured to use IPv6, that would be a problem. Most tech support is not even aware of that (or are they) so they usually just asked the subscriber the same old routine: "Restart/reset the home router, if it doesn't work, we'll set a sched for field check."

Also, there is one important factor. Ang hindi alam ng mga customers, most of these ISPs are actually, ISP Resellers, so it's not fair to say that the problem is just with the "ISP" itself. Meaning, for example, say your ISP is called ISP Company-1. ISP Company-1 could be distributing it's Internet from ISP Company-2, who distributes it's Internet from ISP Company-3, and the trail goes on and on. So if there's a problem with ISP Company-2 or 3, which affects it's distribution to ISP Company-1, the ISP Company-1's tech support agent will not say to you: "Pasensya na Sir/Ma'am, we're just having some technical issues sa ISP po namin." LOL! That would be hilarious like hell. Unfortunately, most ISP will not reveal kung saan Company (ISP) sila kumukuha ng Internet.

Also sa shared IP addresses, there is also an issue called, bad-neighbor-effect. This is also an on-going issue caused by individuals or group who is also in the same MAN as you. If these group or individuals' IP (and DNS server) get black listed, dawit ka rin because you're on the same MAN. So what the ISP normally does, if more and more customers are getting affected, they would either switch DNS or switch gateways. And they can also do some other things. If this happens, the tech support will not say to you: "Pasensya na po Sir/Ma'am, yung kapit-bahay nyo po kasi na subscriber din namin is trying to hack a game site kaya at the moment we're trying to switch to one of our virtual DNS server offshore." LOL! Of course, they would go with the same routine.

Remember this: Tech support agents will only say things that is NOT too technical to subscribers and things that will not give their company a bad light.

Bottom line, if the ISP has a poor lnternet Load Balancing structure either because tinatamad yung kanilang mga Sys Admin, or they don't really have control with what's going on, then ang magsa suffer talaga is yung subscribers. That is the reason din kung bakit merong option for customers to avail a static IP address. Unfortunately, static IP address would cost you extra, and malimit mahal sila. Beware lang coz there are cases na si customer nag avail ng static IP address, pero dynamic pa rin yung nakuha nya.
