I've hated this OS platform ever since the day I've heard of it (Windows Mobile, what?).. The stigma only grew when I got my first Symbian device (n70) and continued to do so. But then, curiosity pervaded and I ended up swapping my E61i to an HTC Trinity. I was at first flustered with the plethora of unnecessary shortcuts for settings and the 'control over kill' (jog dial+d-pad+touchscreen+2 ok buttons). But then being techie, I quickly get the hang of it and after successfully flashing a wm 6.5 rom, I knew that I had found the best platform. Financial difficulties brought about by the 2 months of a generally unproductive vacation forced me to temporarily abandon WM. And so, here are the things I miss in WM:
1. the customizations available in WM that is present in UIQ but only confined to a few and unpractical modifications (who needs walkman 3)
2. the upgradability of the platform which is impossible in UIQ (I miss the bounce effects of WM 6.5)
3. the larger fan base and thus 3rd party developers are not scarce unlike UIQ which is practically dead
4. and finally, the one thing that I miss most in WM is the 'lost feeling' or the it's-just-somewhere-here-I-saw-it-a-little-while-ago effect...
:weep::weep::weep:
Farewell WM for now..
