“I’ve got to hurry…”
“Where is it..?”
Thump!
“Ouch! Can you watch where your-”
“I’m so sorry! Let me help you…”
That’s how the two met.
After that accident, they became friends. Their feelings toward each grew and now they’re hearts are bonded.
They were at the park, sitting under a tree looking at the sky.
“Allan..?”
“What is it Sarah?”
“This is our last year in high school and all,” Sarah paused for a moment held Allan’s hand and looked him in the eye, “so, where are you going to college..?”
“Why?” Allan said also holding her hand.
“Because I want to be where you are.”
After hearing that, he removed her hand from his and stood up.
“Sarah… There’s a day that we have to go our separate ways,” Allan said, beginning to walk away, “You of all people should know that.”
Allan left, leaving Sarah sitting there all alone.
Then she said to herself, “Does that mean, everything we went through, all the times we spent together, meant nothing…?”
Next day, Sarah saw that Allan wasn’t waiting for her at the gate. Heart began to drop. Allan always calls her when he won’t come to school.
“Sarah!”
She looked to who was calling her, hoping that it was Allan, but it wasn’t. It was her friend Tricia who called her.
“It’s a miracle I see you alone today.” Tricia said walking beside Sarah.
“Yeah,” Sarah said, her eyes begin to water, “I also can’t believe it. Maybe he’s just absent”
“Maybe, but its obvious considering the rumors.” Tricia whispered to herself.
“What rumors?” Sarah said wondering what kind of rumors were spreading.
“You don’t know?” Tricia said, obviously shocked that she didn’t know but the whole school knows. “Well, it’s been said that Allan and Tina are close, I mean close.”
“Really, but those are just rumors.” Sarah said, trying to keep her own spirit from falling. But deep inside, her heart is breaking.
“Yeah, those are just rumors… Just rumors… Right..?”
As they walked on, Sarah’s tears rolled down her face when she saw that Allan was there, sitting beside Tina. And the worst part is Sarah never saw Allan this happy with her.
“I knew it,” Tricia said seeing what Sarah saw, “Hey… Are you ok?”
“I’m… Just fine.” Sarah said wiping her tears, “Just fine.”
At home, Sarah wish she could sleep and wake up, hoping that this was just a dream that never really happened. But the pain was as real as what she saw at school earlier. She sat on her bed and stared at the phone, thinking whether to call Allan.
She stretched her hand to the phone. She thought again if it would be a good idea.
“Ring, ring, ring…” she closed her eyes and hoped everything would be okay.
“Hello, Allan speaking.”
“Allan, this is Sarah.”
“Oh… Hi…”
“Uhm… I just called to tell you that it’s my birthday tomorrow.”
“If you want me to go somewhere, I can’t. I have plans.”
“Just come… Please…” Sarah said, hanging up the phone.
Sarah was at the park, walking, alone.
“What am I doing here? I’m just making a fool of myself… I know his not going to-”
Then to her surprise, Allan was there, waiting for someone.
Out of happiness, she couldn’t help but hug him.
“Oh, Allan, you came!” Sarah said tears of joy streamed down her face, “You even know the place!”
“Sarah..!” Allan said, worried and looking at someone else.
“Oh…” Tina saw everything, “I’ll just be over there… I think I’m interrupting something.”
Tina ran wiping her eyes.
In that moment, Sarah’s heart was broken into a million pieces. She has never seen Allan wait for someone else than herself. The pain she felt was so unreal, her tears of joy became tears of sorrow and all she could do was run away.
The very next day at the end of school, Sarah saw Allan walking home.
“Allan..!”
Allan turned around and saw that Sarah was the one who called him, “What is it..?”
“I’m… I’m sorry…” Sarah said, walking toward Allan
“You don’t need to apologize…”
“But-”
“You don’t need to apologize! What’s done is done so… just GET LOST!!”
When Allan said this Sarah’s heart stopped. All the pain she endured this past days were so agonizing, she can’t feel anything anymore.
“BEEP..!”
A car was racing toward Allan. The car was going so fast that even if it stops it would hit him.
Allan’s body can’t move from the sudden shock
“What the-”
“Look out!”
BOOM!
“Oh God, Sarah!”
In that split second, Sarah pushed Allan away from the speeding car.
“Someone, help us!” Allan shouted, holding Sarah’s hand, “When I said get lost, I didn’t mean it… Please, don’t go…”
“I’ll never go… I’ll always be with you…”
Sarah caressed Allan’s face.
“I’ll never go…” and those were her last words…
“Where is it..?”
