Yikes! This ghost picture is creepy, as it appears to have a man in it, that at first glance, looks like an old movie monster, such as Frankenstein. Thomas Heglund sent in this ghost picture and explained it of course is no monster, but most likely a Civil War soldier. Fort Delaware was used to hold prisoners during the battle of Gettysburg. "Look to the right of the tarp."

The next ghost picture was submitted by Wendy of Campbellsport, Wisconsin. We are stymied by the "ectoplasm" formation around the banister. The "ghost" seems to "wrap around" the rungs of the banister, but yet, almost displays a reflection of the flash parallel to the top banister. It's just a neat photo, and if you listen to Wendy, there appears to be "cat ears" in the ectoplasm... She writes: "This picture was taken in my home in the upstairs hallway. It is a picture of my son James. This picture was taken about the summer of 2001. The blob above the stairway is what I believe to be a spirit...I'm not sure of what...but my father had died June of 2000 when I was pregnant with my son, James. This figure is not a reflection of any kind; my husband (who previously did not believe in ghosts) could not explain this orange appearance either, and believe me - he tried. I had also had one of my five cats die recently, as well. Some people said that it kind of looks like the outline of a cat. I don't know, but I do know it is unexplainable. I believe it to be my very own ghost picture...I feel privileged!"

"I am in journalism at my college, and for our halloween issue, I decided to check out "haunted" places and rate them on "creepiness" or if they were actually haunted. I went to Stull Cemetary in Kansas, just west of Lawrence (October 8, 2005). I went with some friends, once at 11 pm and again around 3:30 am. The story goes that a witch bore the devil's child, she was hung by a tree, and the child was killed and buried somewhere on the grounds. Later the tree fell over and opened a gateway to hell. There also used to be a stone church, but it was torn down a few years ago. People claimed that if you threw something in the church, you would never hear it fall. Also, people would see a dark, demonic figure in the doorway to the church. The first picture is of me on an old stone wall in front of some trees, one of which is fallen over. I am holding my tape recorder and said "if there are any spirits here, please make yourself known." My friend snapped the pic with my digital camera and screamed. We tried to disprove the misty shape surrounding me, using breath (since it was cold) and no one with me smokes. On the second trip, we went back to the tree. I didn't notice until a month ago that there seems to be a figure peeking out from between them, orb-like. Then we headed into the graveyard, it became colder the more we went towards the center (we later confirmed with a car thermometer that it was several degrees colder in the graveyard than right outside the gate!). I then snapped off a pic of a grave and a stone slab a few feet away, instead of seeing the slab, a brownish misty face is there! When we went back to my house, we listened to my tape, and on the second trip, a piano can be heard in the background!"

This controversial ghost picture was taken at haunted Newby Church in North Yorkshire, England by Reverend K. F. Lord in the early 1960s. The apparition picture appears to have a monk with hands folded in prayer and a ghastly face. Lord thought he was snapping a picture of the church altar. The monk looks to be older than the building, from the time when monks were a common sight in England. Thus, the monk would date to before the time of Henry VIII, who closed down all monasteries. That means the monk would be from around the 1500s. The building was only 200 years old at the time...

"This photo was taken on a film camera not a digital camera so apologies for the quality as it is a scan of the original photograph. My husband and I planned a dinner at my mother in law's house one week before our wedding, for our bridal party to get to know each other. The photo here is of my mother in law Anke in the middle and from the left my bridesmaids Lisa, Amy, Charmaine, Natasha (and me hiding behind the hanging light). The best man took the shot and we were the only ones in the room at the time. We are in my mother in law's living room and my groom and his three other groomsmen were all outside at the time. No-one knows who this lady is and she was definitely not invited along for the night. The cabinet is an antique from France, I am not sure what year but is very very old. There are only pieces of china and trinkets in this cabinet and no picture frames or photos of any sort. To this day the face remains a mystery to us all. You be the judge."

This is one cool ghost picture of what may be an apparition. It was either caused by a lengthened exposure, a photo-editing program, or the supernatural. Take a look, as the picture looks unaltered: "This photo was taken at night around 9:00 PM. Can you tell me if the apparition in the middle could be some glitch made by the digital camera? There was nobody in front of the camera when the picture was taken."

If you look close, this picture shows the apparition or ghost of a man sitting in a chair. This famous ghost photograph was taken in 1891 by Sybell Corbett at Combermere Abbey in Cheshire, England. It is believed to be of Lord Combermere, who apparently returned to visit his library. The camera was set up in the library and left to record the area for about an hour. Older cameras took a while to record an image. When the photograph was developed, this image of a man appeared in the photo. Very few people were in the house when the picture was captured, as the Lord himself was being buried during this time. Had anyone entered the room and sat in the chair for a few minutes, an image like this would have been recorded. The family's butler insisted that no one had entered the room.

Dixie sent us this excellent ghost picture of what looks to be a shadow ghost: "I was recently the Maid of Honor in my sister's wedding, and after looking at the pictures I came across this one somebody had taken. We could find no explanation for the 'shadowed' figure that hovers around the church window, or the smoke on the floor around it. It is as though myself and another girl are looking at it, but I don't recall seeing anything like that."

"This picture was taken 07/11/05 around 2am. I live in South Texas and there is said to be a lot of ghosts in my area. Well my sister and I were messing around and started wrestling with the camera in my pocket. When my sister knocked me down the camera came out of my pocket and flashed on the other side of the kitchen. When we looked at it, this picture appeared (lower left hand corner) and me and my sis freaked!!! At first we thought maybe it was one of us...but this picture doesn't resemble either of us in the slightest bit and the camera was no where near us when it flashed. "I am from Minnesota. I was in a car accident in October 1994 which left me in a wheelchair. I haven't driven since the accident. I decided to get my license and a van to drive, so I would have more independence. This picture is was taken when I was going to drive it to Minneapolis to have it sent off to get converted. "They were taken at Quarantine Station in Sydney, Australia....taken on the same night, at the same place, but in different spots of the station. This place is very haunted, and I have seen and felt many things here over the years, as well as getting some good EVP there. I used a digital with automatic flash, and no special settings. I am clair sentient and actually felt spirit near me. I have many good clear EVP from inside that building. There are no lights in this building and I have taken hundreds of shots of this particular building, but never got anything like this. You can see that inside the orange swirl it is out of focus, but the building that I was taking the shot of is in focus. This is the only time I have ever gotten shots like this."

Teather from Utah sent us the following two ghost pictures from an old house in Indiana: "The first picture my aunt took on her web cam of her wall because she saw a bright light, and then when she took the picture there was more in it..there are three orbs and a mist going up the side and something I think looks like fingers behind them. The second picture from my aunt's web cam was disconnected for 3-4 days and around the 2nd-3rd day my sister and aunt were going through the pictures on the computer...and after all that a couple of hours later, I went through them and the 2nd picture suddenly appeared; and when my aunt saw it, it sent chills up our spines."
