I have numerous movies that i have downloaded from Ipmart I was hoping that a torrent tracker would be installed in this forum instead of uploading to a file hosting site. I do hope you consider this proposal.

yeah polmartin300, i share your views on torrent trackers ... if i'm not mistaken i already asked lance about that when sb was still starting up. while there are people who would prefer downloading from 'free' hosting services, a lot would still prefer torrents. mas progressive as i see it. same reasons why ip adopted it after long discussions. remember, in this business, you fall trap in your own success. sooner or later successful communities will find a way to balance off things and that i think is one of the better routes. i can say this having seen how similar things happened in the telco business ... nagtagal din tayo sa negosyong yan eh.

and btw, not being able to be here that often does not mean 'solid' ako for a particular site. just so happened that i serve a community where there are already regulars who subscribe to the service i cater to. hindi lang naman tayo diyan naglalagay ng movies eh. go to torrent sites and my movies are there too -- i guess for obvious reasons, di ba?

Wala namang problema yung torrent dito. Kaso magastos sa resources yon at hindi pwede sa shared server. Kailangan may sarili tayong server. Kung sasagutin ba ni Wingtip yung gastos natin monthly para sa torrent edi pwedeng pwede. Mga $50-100/month lang naman yung kailangan natin para sa sarili nating server. At syempre dapat wag din kayong magsasawang sagutin yung mga nagtatanong ng, "pano ko ba idadownload yung torrent file?", "pano po ba gamitin yung torrent?", etc. etc.

At bukod don, bihira lang talaga gumagamit ng torrent dahil talamak na PIRACY yon. Kaya di ako magtataka kung isang araw, magsara na yung ipmart dahil nilusob na sila. Mabuti na lang at nasa Malaysia server nila kaya dadaan pa sa mahabang proseso yung paglusob sa kanila ng world anti-piracy team. And pagkakaalam ko, wala na ring tumatanggap na international domain registrar sa ipmart, kaya sila na lang din ng host sa domain nila. Naaalala nyo naman siguro nung nagkaproblema domain nila. Yung ip address gamit nila tulad nito.. http://65.432.76.069/index.php. Yan yung time na binitawan na sila ng domain registrar nila.

yan ang isa sa ayoko sa ipmart, yung torrent system. naglimit na sila para sa multimedia files hanggang 2mb lang pataas filehost na or torrent. sa mga apps/games naman for phones, hanggang 5mb na lang pataas filehost na or torrent o kaya split ng rar file/s.

yes please start torrenting files so the rest of us can download, ininstall ko na yun megashare toolbar panay lng spyware lol. at hindi nmn ako mka download sa rapidshare :*(

:thumbsup: sa torrents..kasi kailangan to lalo na sa mga taong palagingng nakaon or mabagal connection (like smart bro)...kasi hindi naman talaga sa speed ng net ito nakadepende kundi sa seeders or ung mga nagshashare ng files..kaya mas marami ngshashare ng files, mas mabilis..

i think mas ok na po ang system ng downloading dito sa symbianize, ito naman po ang kinasanayan ng lahat, especially po sa mga newbie na katulad ko, tsaka mas ok na po toh kasi in a way naaacknowledge na rin po ng downloader ang site na pinagkukunan ng files, kung torrent po kasi diretso na, correct me if im wrong, pero di po ba nabubuhay tayo sa mga advertisements (pop-ups) (nabasa ko sa funds thread), tulong na rin po yun sa sb, di lang naman po toh file hosting site, di po ba? this is a PINOY ONLINE COMMUNITY after all. :)

For me, agree ako kay Sir WingTip wala namang problema sa torrent system kasi yan na rin ang nakasayan ko na gamitin sa pagDDL at bihira lang akong gumamit ng filehosting site..at tsaka hindi naman sa lahat ng pagkakataon ay mas mabilis ang file hosting site o kaya direct download kasi nakadepende lang sa seeders ang speed ng torrent..Pero kadalasan pag sikat o in demand(patok sa masa) yung torrent file na nais mong gamitin lalo na yung mga new movies/application/music etc. mas mabilis ang download speed nito compared to hosting site (up to 2x faster based on my experienced)..at mas approved ako sa torrent in terms of progressiveness, kasi pwede mong i.pause o kaya naman i.discontinue muna yung diniDL na torrent lalo na sa mga malalaking files tulad ng 1gb-22gb in size na wala sa hosting site (except for those who have PREMIUM ACCOUNTS)..at kung maalaga ka sa PC/laptop mo na hindi mo gustong buong araw ay bukas, eh di mas mabuting lumipat ka na sa torrent para makapagpahinga naman PC/laptop mo at bukas mo lang continue/resume yung diniDL mo na torrent file:thumbsup::thumbsup:

And with regards to the issue of PIRACY, hindi natin masasabi na torrent lamang ang involved sa PIRACY..bakit hindi ba pwede ang file hosting site? 90% of files that are uploaded to hosting sites are PIRATED..correct me if I'm wrong..sa katunayan currently ay may hinaharap na kaso ang Rapidshare dahil sa issue ng PIRACY at sila ay nabigo sa pag depensa nito..hindi kasi pwedeng maiwasan ang PIRACY, kumbaga DRUGS yan eh..mahirap puksain na sana kung mapuksa ay makakabuti sa ating lahat..pero we're facing the reality and all we can do is face the reality..LOl:D

Pero sa huli, pera pa rin that matters the most..kaya kung ano desisyon ni Sir Lance ay respetohin nalang natin to..:thumbsup::thumbsup:
