How to install SMARTBRO software from a flashed ZTE MF627 with Globe Visibility s/w [Sitemap]

This is for those with flashed zte mf627 with globe visibility software.
Pakibasa na lang itong link na nakita ko at download the QPST software, http://www.dc-unlocker.com/forum/showthread.php?t=578. Pwede ninyo madelete ung Globe visibility software at ibalik ang original na smartbro software.
Tried and tested ko na working. Sinubukan ko na rin na inuninstall ulit ang smartbro at replug the usb at tumakbo naman ang installer ng smartbro. Last is napagana ko rin using globe sim card.
By the way laptop gamit ko para walang problema sa brownout.

iplug ang zte usb modem sa laptop.
irun ninyo ang QPST configuration at add port para makita itong device

drag and drop na lang ang ZTEMODEM.ISO (smartbro) at exit. magpaprompt na ireset ang phone at ireset ninyo na lang.

pero sir, stable ba HSDPA signal ng smartbro kit mo after reflashed? para kasing humihina ang signal eh after reflashing the firmware... any advice?

stable naman siya. nagsurf ako kanina from 8-10am sa katipunan area, sa globe ay naglalaro sa full bar between 3G at HSDPA. sa smart naman, all throughout full bar ng HSDPA ang signal ko. kinompare ko din dito sa bahay, pareho ang signal na nakukuha ko sa lgku250 at smartbro modem.

gawin nyo nalang .ISO file yung SmartBro Installer na nasa SmartBro kit nyo... hehehe... delete nyo ung Globe Visibility na nakalagay by default after reflashing... buti naman may backup ako ng SmartBro Installer... nagtataka lang ako bakit after reflashing, blue na led lights nya, dapat red... :) at ang signal humina tapos hanggang 3G lang, but sometimes nagiging HSDPA... hmmmm.... ano bang dapat gawin?

wala akong nakikitang improvements as far as browsing ang signal are concern. siguro preference na lang ito since smartbro din ang modem mo.

pareho tayo ng nangyari after reflashing humina ng husto signal ng smart ko saka sobrang hina ng signal na...parang na disable yun 3G features niya kasi kung 3G lang ang signal ko walang data na pumapasok.
kelangan pang HSDPA ang signal para lang maka-surf ako. kaya nga nagadvice ako sa kabilang thread na huwag na lang mag flash, bumili na lang ng modem ng kabilang network mura naman na kasi.

salamat.........madali lang naman intindihin yung instruction mo...maramu gyud salamat sa imu dong..LOLZZZZ...tama sila humina din ang signal ko sa 3g...after reflashing.....dati nakakasagap pa ako ng HSDPA.....cguro ang problema sa dashboard lang kasi lumakas uli ang signal ko...MARAMING SALAMAT SAYO bro...the best ka talaga!!!!!!!!!

marami na yata nakaexperience na humina ang signal after flashing. hindi ko lang napansin siguro dahil sa qc area ako at naglalaro sa 3G at HSDPA ang signal ko kahit sa loob ng house.

Help naman mga co-symbianizers... Yung Smart Bro kit ko ZTE MF627, nagtry akong magflash thru Flashupdate.exe tapos nagbrownout, now ayaw na madetect nung modem ko. Hingi sana ko step by step para maayos. Nagdownload ako ng QPST, ayaw naman pag ni-drag ko yung ISO file. Nakalagay yung phone daw is not locked for exclusive access. Saka may SPC code na ilagagay, default nya 000000.

bro sa zte mf627 ko lang nasubukan. ang ginagawa lang nito ay ma-access yung files mo sa firmware at i-delete and then replace ng
smartbro connection software. check mo muna kung nakikita itong files mo using the program. proceed with caution na lang.

but maayos ko naman na flash at hindi naputol. hindi mabasa ng QPST ang modem after nitong mag flash. walang lumalabas like the one sa 1st page. any suggestions on this? thanks

na-unlock ko na ung ZTE MF627 ko at ngagamit ko na ung SMART SIM ko using GLOBE VISIBILITY CONNECTION MANAGER.

kaya lang, yung globe ang ayaw gumana saken, although nkakaconnect naman ako at HSDPA pa ang signal, pero ayaw mgload ng kahit anong website.. by the way, GLOBE TATTOO SIM nga pala ang gamit ko.

sir, check ninyo kung tama ang mga setting na inilagay ninyo para sa globe. check ninyo rin if may load pa kayo. you can also use the ZTE_MF622_not_customised_software sa dc_unlocker para mapa smart siya o globe. keep us updated :)

brad, curious lng ako, pano mlalaman kung TATTOO sim ang nabili ko o hindi.. duda na ko d2 eh, parang ndi TATTOO sim ang laman nung SIM PACK na binili ko.

yung binili ko tattoo sim ay may nakasticker lang na globe starter sim.
tumawag lang ako sa csr at nireklamo ko na bakit wala akong internet access sa prepaid sim na ito. sinabi ko sa kanila wlang problema pag postpaid pero pag prepaid ay hindi nagloload ang page. hindi ko alam kung kailan nila naayos dahil gumamit muna ako ng sun combopack sim.

duda tlga ko sa SIM.. globe tattoo ung SIM PACK pero ung SIM sa loob, may faded blue background design, di ko alam kung TATTOO DESIGN un pero sa likod nakalagay "starter prepaid".

tapos tumawag din ako sa CSR at tinanong ko kung pano malaman kung TATTOO xa o ndi, sbi text STATUS to 1111, dpat TIME BASED raw ang internet usage ko at ndi KB BASED.. upon checking, naka KB BASED xa.. nabili ko siya along mendiola, dun sa mga vendors na may GLOBE TENTS. 25pesos selling price nila kasi PROMO raw.

hindi ko maalala kung nakainsert yung sim o hindi.
sa xp ko lang nasubukan dahil wala akong vista. try mo na lang sa xp para mas madali. read na lang instructions sa page 1.

Okay guys........maybe this will help!!!

I have followed the instructions in page 1 and it works. BUT it took me a lot of of trials before I got it working. I was not following EXACTLY the instructions. Instead of DELETING FIRST the ZTEMODEM.ISO in the EFS, I just copied directly the downloaded SmartBRO ZTEMODEM.ISO to the EFS folder assuming that it will just overwrite the one that was there...WRONG!!!!!. I found out that when I went back to recopy, it was not there. So I just copied the file and whala...its fine now. Another thing that you guys have to be very careful about QPST is that don't play around with the port addition. Make sure that you have the correct port added where it will see the EFS. I have to guess many times until I found the correct port to add. It was showing 4 different ports detected. QPST will hung it you make a mistake. I had to use "Windows Task Manager" to end QPST. But this still will not solved the hung process. The solution I found out is to "Uninstall/Reinstall" QPST. I had to do this a few times. Thus this not for the newbie process. So be very careful!!

Now, if you must venture to do this, here is what I found out to be the best way in doing this:

1) Make sure you still have the connection manager (Globe Visibility/Telstra, etc.) installed.
2) Plug the USB Modem.
3) Let the devices get installed all the way including launching of the connection manager.
4) Check in the device manager if the devices are installed:
control panel-->system-->hardware-->devices-->push disk drives, cd drives, modem, lpt1,usb
make sure the devices are there so QPST will see them.
NOTE: another test is if in the connection manager you see network connection and better yet is if you can connect. If so, most likely all devices are connected properly.
5) Close the connection manager.
6) Run QPST Configuration......
7) Follow the instructions in page 1. Do not deviate from the procedure.
8)Good luck!!

P.S.
I did this just to experiment. In practical terms, I do not see any need to revert back to SmartBRO connection manager. Globe Visibility Connection Manager is just fine. Personally, I am using Telstra Connection Manager since it is much faster to come up and it is rather cute.

But I enjoyed the exercise of doing this.....it is challenging.

BTW, you guys posting here with all of these neat stuff are really good. Saludo ako sa inyo!!!

I have four(4) USB Modems. Two - MF627 and two- Huawei Modems. I also have broadband sims from Smart, Globe and Sun.

My MF627 are flashed (openline) to Globe Visibility like what everybody are talking here. I also installed the SmartBro Connection Manager to one of them with the instructions here. I am leaving the other one with the Globe Visibility Connection Manager.

My Huawei Modems E160E and E1550 are also openline now. The E160E has been upgraded to the "unbranded" Mobile Partner Connection Manager. The E1550 I am leaving it using the Sun Connection Manager. The Sun Connection Manager is the best of all of the connection managers. It has capability to make/receive calls if supported by the telco.

I have no problem using any of these modems in my XP SP3. But be aware that if you intend to use more than one modem in a computer, there is a very high probability you will have problems with device conflicts. Easiest to do is to restart the computer to flash out devices in memory when you switch modems.

NOW........for those who keep complaining about speed being affected after flashing.....it really is NOT the case. With these modems, the speed is dependent on the STRENGTH of the SIGNAL. You must have 5 bars signal strength to have descent speed. Less than that, MABAGAL TALAGA. The signal strength depends on the location. That is why I have 3 sims so I can use the sim that has the strongest signal when I connect.

Make sure that you have the correct port added where it will see the EFS. I have to guess many times until I found the correct port to add. It was showing 4 different ports detected. QPST will hung it you make a mistake. I had to use "Windows Task Manager" to end QPST. But this still will not solved the hung process. The solution I found out is to "Uninstall/Reinstall" QPST. I had to do this a few times. Thus this not for the newbie process. So be very careful!!
