Dear fellow Symbianizers,

Who among you guys here are Potter Geeks? Or at least, everyone here, i suppose, knows about Harry Potter and The Great Wizard Albus Dumbledore...

After JK Rowling, author of Potter series, revealed the sex orientation of Albus Dumbledore, what can you say po?

For reference, eto po yung sinabi ni JKR:

The question was: Did Dumbledore, who believed in the prevailing power of love, ever fall in love himself?

JKR: My truthful answer to you... I always thought of Dumbledore as gay. [ovation.] ... Dumbledore fell in love with Grindelwald, and that that added to his horror when Grindelwald showed himself to be what he was. To an extent, do we say it excused Dumbledore a little more because falling in love can blind us to an extent? But, he met someone as brilliant as he was, and rather like Bellatrix he was very drawn to this brilliant person, and horribly, terribly let down by him. Yeah, that's how i always saw Dumbledore. In fact, recently I was in a script read through for the sixth film, and they had Dumbledore saying a line to Harry early in the script saying I knew a girl once, whose hair... [laughter]. I had to write a little note in the margin and slide it along to the scriptwriter, "Dumbledore's gay!" [laughter] "If I'd known it would make you so happy, I would have announced it years ago!"

Let me clarify lang po, i'm not in any way against any person being gay. Straigt guy po ako, don't get me wrong. Re: sa issue, I think I still admire Dumbledore, yung naging role niya for good to prevail was immeasurable! I don't care if he's gay...

non-issue for me...AD's sexual orientation was never important to any of the plots anyway and gay or not, he was a great character...

as if dat settles everything... Kung nabasa mo lang sana sir, malamang me mas mature kang reaction... isang kasing malaking "shock" para sa mga nakabasa o sumusubaybay pa lang yung revelation nung author just recently.

anyways, thanks pa din!

:slap: that's what i also felt upon reading book 6 and my suspicion was confirmed while i was reading book 7. the relationship between Dumbledore and Grindewald is quiete mysterious kasi for me, in a way, parang it was too much for a friendship and yet you couldn't really say na lovers naman dba? kasi who would've thought that Rowling would put such a twist in a book made for children or young people dba? :noidea:

but nevertheless, it was ingenious of Rowling to make Dumbledore's character really interesting :approve: and i think it's apt to say that what you see is never what you really get... :noidea:
