Help naman po I'm not a techie guy. Here is my situation, my pamangkin (much techie than me) upgraded my Huawei E1550 modem firmware (sim lock to SUN) to 11.608.13.00.158.B416. He used the file he got from DC Unlocker (E1552Update_11.608.13.00.158.B416.exe).

After Upgrading it this message pops up"ONLY THE SPECIFIED SIM/USIM CARD CAN BE USED ON THE DEVICE!". So pinacheck ko sa kapit bahay kong IT. He tried different SIM ang nakapagtataka gumagana siya sa GLOBE TATTOO SIM. To think na SIM locked siya sa SUN bakit GLOBE TATTOO SIM nalang ang tinatanggap niya.

Sabi ng kapitbahay ko baka nung na-upgrade daw yung firmware ng pamangkin ko eh. Napalitan yung lock code at sa GLOBE TATTOO nalang gumagana.

Meron ba kayong alam kung saan makakakuha ng updated firmware ng Huawei E1550 na para sa SUN BROAD BAND WIRELESS?

Bro, meron na akong unlock code, even the flash code nakakuha na ako dito sa symbianize. Ang problema kahit anong palit ko ng SIM hindi lumalabas yung Enter Unlock Code na window. Parating "ONLY THE SPECIFIED SIM/USIM CARD CAN BE USED ON THE DEVICE!" messaga lang ang lumalabas. Siguro hindi naman na brick modem ko kasi nagagamit ko pa yun nga lang instead na dapat naka-lock sa SUN nalock sa GLOBE

Here's the story actually I'm the one to blame about it because I unlocked the modem. And due to my curiosity I upgraded its firmware I got from DC Unlocker. And boom its lock to globe Telecom. It took me almost a week to fix my problem. I even brought the modem to the SUN shop and told them my explanation above, hehehe... baka makalusot.

According to SUN its already tampered and unlock so hindi lumusot. :weep::weep: Their CS told me that the firmware and dashboard is network dependent and it can be use with other networks broadband modem. So they can not release it to their subscribers.

So para lang maayos sabi ko bahala na. Luckily I did'nt deleted the firmware I got from DC Unlocker. Para kung pumalya at least pwede pa mapagana kahit sluggish sa GLOBE.

At first I tried 3 network Australia's firmware and thier dashboard you can get it from http://www.three.com.au/cs/ContentServer?c=Page&pagename=Three%2FPage%2FBusinessVideoCallingTempla te&cid=1215747787891 I used thier E1553 software updates because according to Huawei Tech Support its just the same (E155x)

And it worked. Naging 3 network nga lang dashboard ko kasi sa kanila ko din kuniha yung dashboard. The only problem with 3 networks firmware is 2G signal is disabled so we need to enable it by using Hyper Terminal.

Hyper Terminal procedure.

1. connect modem in USB
2. open Hyper Terminal
3. write the name of the new connection. at your discretion
4. on next page choise HUAWEI Mobile Connect - 3G Modem and click Ok
5. on next page click Cancel
6. on Hyper Terminal window write:

AT^SYSCFG=2,2,3fffffff,0,2

and click button ENTER

Now 2G is enabled on your modem.
You can close Hyper Terminal

Ay oo nga pala sa properties ng Hyper terminal File\Properties sa settings tab click ASCII Setup button and put a check on echo typed characters locally. Kung hindi ninyo ito nagawa hindi ninyo makikita yung mga typed text nyo sa hyper terminal window.

I still did'nt stop there because acording to formus hindi din daw updated yung software ng 3 network Australia.

And I came accros to Singapore's StarHub network modem update service http://www.starhub.com/support/broadband/devicesuserguides/approveddevicesformobilebroadband/firmwareupgrade.html masupdated siya compared to 3 network Australia's software update. Yun ang ginamit ko at hindi naka disable yung 2G signal like 3 network Australia.

Sa nangyari nalaman ko na kapag na-unlock mo na modem mo unlocked na talaga siya. unless na makapag-flash ka ng custom firmware na naka lock sa specific network like yung madodownload sa DC-Unlocker. Kaya beware do not use DC-Unlockers firmware kung na-unlock na ninyo modem ninyo.

Ang galing din nila para makabenta naglalagay sila ng custom firmware na naka-lock sa specific network para hindi gumana modem mo.

But before doing the said procedure you need the unlock code of your modem and Flash code. Kasi there are time na nanghihingi ng flash code yung modem kapag uupgrade mo firmware niya. You can get this on forums just Google it out.

And for the latest generic unbranded Dash board for E1550 just Google it you can find it on rapidshare.

Kaya ngayon generic na generic na modem ko kahit dalhin ko pa overseas. Siguradong gagana, hehehehe......:lol:

Yeaph! Provided na may Unlock Code at Flash Code ka na. I'm not sure kung yung sa StarHub Singapore firmware yung humihingi ng flash code. Hindi ko matandaan sa dami ng firmware na sinubukan ko.....:)

may flash code na ako.. nasubuka ko na dati yung sa 3 network na firmware kaso walang signa so naghanap na naman ako, then nakita ko yung reply ko sa post ko.. sir paki upload naman yung firmware na gamit mo ngayon dahil di ko ma open site nila :pray:

Its hard to find the unlock code of my imei.
I also uses Sun E1550, but i need to change sim in the province because the signal there for Sun Broadband is dead.

nope, it will not..
its very dangerous to flash your firmware.. but its your choice if you risk it..
if you flash it to star hub's firmware.. you can unlock your modem using the nck code.. but before flashing your modem you must have the flash code, not the nck..

Yeaph! boink is right about that Flash Code is different from Unlock code. You will need Flash Code to updgrade your modems firmware and Unlock Code to unlock it from the network and use different sims.

Ingat lang kayo when using Windows 7 on flashing your modems. Especially those modems na hindi pa naupupgrade yung dashboard. Yung original drivers that comes with SUN huawei E1550 is not stable. Pero kung naupdate nyo na yung dashboard using StarHub Singapore dash board ok lang kasi masupdated yun sa kanila.

Yung sa sun dashboard drivers kasi kahit hindi mo eject, bigla nalang hindi madetect yung modem.

Huawei E1550 through Sun Broadband site... nung inilagay ko sa desktop pc ko naginstall ulit siya.. nga lang nagbago yung dashboard.. tingin ko yung lumang dashbord yun... tapos pag nila launch na yung dashboard disconnected daw yung usb modem... pero naka lagay naman sa USB port...may light indicator din pero walang signal...

Mga sir / mam supported po ba ng e1550 ang WinXP 64bit? Kasi nadedetect nman at naiinstall ko ung software pero kapag ico-connct ko na e "disconnected daw or not found" ung device at kahit sa "choose Device" e walang option para makita yung device na e1550. Kaya ang setting ko ngaun e need ko pa ng VMware with winxp 32bit OS, at dun ko na lang kinokonek yung modem.

Try to download the Huawei E1550 software from SUN they already posted their SUN Custom dashboard under SUN BROAD BAND\FAQS. You can download it there.

I did not encountered this problem with Windows 7 x64. The problem I encountered is E1550 can not be detected after you removed it from the USB and plugged it back. You need to restart the PC to detect the E1550 modem again.

And according to SUN Tech Support the E1550 can work under Windows 7 x64 but not guaranteed to work properly. And future problems might occur.

- blinking green light lang palagi.
- sa dashboard walang signal na nakkukuha.
- usually kapag inunplug mo yung modem sasabihin niya "device has been disconnected" pero this time walang ganung prompt.
- pag naclick mo naman yung Tools > Choose Device sa Dashboard e wala dun yung usb modem.

+ tried manually installing yung driver galing sa C:\Program Files\Sun Broadband Wireless\Driver
- same issue
- green blinking lights
- wala signal sa dashboard

Bro, what happened to your USB Modem? Did you flashed and upgraded it's firmware? (By the way firmware is different from the dashboard) What version of firmware you used to upgrade it and where did you downloaded the firmware.

This situation happened to me before. When I flashed it with a wrong firmware.

naku po. bakit naman kasi kumuha nang upgrader sa hindi naman dapat na source, kung tipo nyo pong mag upgrade, better po na kumuha lang kayu nang mga softwares na provided by your network provider (which is SUN).

Anyway, lets hope na yung software Upgrade na ginamit nyo is hindi yung ginagamit sa legendary "E1552 Red Box modems" na hindi ma unlock. And yes, kung yung SIM na nilagay mo is galing sa ibang networks ,hindi dapat lalabas yung message na "ONLY THE SPECIFIED SIM/USIM CARD CAN BE USED ON THE DEVICE!". Instead dapat na lalabas yung isang window kung saan mag-ask yan nang unlock code.

Follow the steps dnniwa485 said. To know the status of your USB modem.

One possible reason is you used 3 Network Australia firmware when you updated your firmware. 2G signal on 3 Network Australia firmware is disabled by default. If you really used 3 Network Australia's firmware you need to enable 2G signal manually by using Hyper Terminal.

Hyper Terminal procedure.

1. connect modem in USB
2. open Hyper Terminal
3. write the name of the new connection. at your discretion
4. on next page choise HUAWEI Mobile Connect - 3G Modem and click Ok
5. on next page click Cancel

Gusto ko sanang i-openline yung sun usb modem ko. Kakabili ko lang last tuesday. Wala ring unlock code na nagpa-popup gaya nung andito sa thread, kaya di ko sya ma-unlock. Meron akong Universal mastercode para for the unlock and flash codes na kakailanganin. Ang gusto ko lang sana is for you to give me yung step by step instructions kung ano ang kailangan kong gawin and the tools or softwares I will need. Hindi ko kasi ma-follow yung andito. Di ko alam kung ia-uninstall ko ba muna or kung ano man.

Updated mine to Starhub's firmware for E1550 then updated my dashboard to Sun Cellular's which I got from http://www.suncellular.com.ph/images/UTPS16.001.06.04.256_MAC16.001.09.03.256.exe.

There is still a way to unlock these kind of USB Broadband Modems but it will cost you. You need to buy credits from DC Unlocker to revert the exhausted 10 unlock attempts and unlock it.

Hi, may issue ang E1550 ko, lagi na lang nadi-dc, hindi dahil sa nawawalan ng signal, talagang nadidisconnect syang mag-isa, minsan, every 5 mins or minsan kakaconnect ko pa lang, after ilang seconds, hindi nga 30secs, wala na ulit, disconnected na naman, so pipindutin ko na naman ang "Connect" Button. :(

"Laging Error: 628, the connection was terminated by a remote computer before it can be connected", basta something to that effect. Mula ng i-type ko tong message na to hanggang sa matapos, naka-7 na ulit akong pindont ng "Connect" button.

help naman po sa sun broadband ko. tinatry ko yung galing sa starhub na firmware update kaso nagfafailed po. napansin ko lang yung galing sa starthub ay mas mababang firmware version kesa dun sa current version ng firmware ko. yung firmware ko ay 11.608.14.15.201 (yung dashboard ko ay may cal feature.) anu p[o kayang solution magagawa ko para maopenline ko yung bband ko? please help.. Gusto ko sanang i-openline yung sun usb modem ko. Kakabili ko lang last tuesday. Wala ring unlock code na nagpa-popup gaya nung andito sa thread, kaya di ko sya ma-unlock. Meron akong Universal mastercode para for the unlock and flash codes na kakailanganin. Ang gusto ko lang sana is for you to give me yung step by step instructions kung ano ang kailangan kong gawin and the tools or softwares I will need. Hindi ko kasi ma-follow yung andito. Di ko alam kung ia-uninstall ko ba muna or kung ano man.

Paki email na lang ako sa bad_aso@yahoo.com.ph para mas madali kong mabasa yung response ninyo.

Updated mine to Starhub's firmware for E1550 then updated my dashboard to Sun Cellular's which I got from http://www.suncellular.com.ph/images/UTPS16.001.06.04.256_MAC16.001.09.03.256.exe.

I used Yobb GSM's Huawei Tool to find my unlock and flash codes: http://www.yobbgsm.com/2010/03/free-huawei-calculator.html

madali lang mag openline ng sun e1550 mamaya post ko sa yo yung unlock code. brown kasi dito cp lg ako.
