XS++ v2 flashing guide


Supported phones:

DB2000: CID36, CID49 <---needs bruteforcing
DB2010: CID36, CID49
DB2020: CID49, CID51, CID52

INSTALLING USB FLASH DRIVER

Hold down the “C” button on your phone and plugin the USB cable.
Windows will detect a flash device. Enter the path where you extracted the flash drivers if Windows doesn’t install them automatically.

Or simply install the driver.

Backing up the GDFS/Restoring the GDFS

The GDFS contains the calibration data of your phone. Your phone won’t work if the GDFS is damaged. A defective GDFS is hard to fix, therefore you should ALWAYS backup the GDFS of your phone before you do anything else.

1. Connect your phone while holding down the “C” button.
2. Choose the “GDFS” tab (in “Configuration” on the bottom right)
3. Click “Backup GDFS”
4. Store the GDFS file in a safe place – it could safe your phone after a mistake!

Writing the GDFS back to your phone:

Do this when your GDFS is damaged
1. Do steps 1-3
2. Choose your GDFS file (make sure you’ve picked the right one) in “Restore GDFS” and click “Write GDFS”.

NOTE: Every GDFS is unique, that means every phone has got a different GDFS, even if it’s the same model. If you write the GDFS from another phone to your phone your phone won’t boot up. That’s because the IMEI stored in the new GDFS doesn’t match the IMEI in your OTP. Do NOT write any other GDFS to your phone unless you are 100% aware of what you’re doing!

Choosing the correct firmware:

XS++ always shows you the EROM CID and the EROM Colour of your phone after connecting. You need to flash firmware matching that CID and Colour or your phone won’t work properly. If you’ve got a BROWN EROM you need to change it to a RED EROM before flashing red firmware to the phone.

Region Codes: Firmwares are designed for specific regions and contain different languages.
If you want to debrand your phone you have to use GENERIC firmware files.
CDA/Custpack: XS++ has got many custpacks already. Connect your phone, check “Customize File System” and check if the one you need is already there. Sometimes you will see several CDA’s with same name. For example EUROPE_2 (CDA102497/105) and EUROPE_2 (CDA102497/9). The first one is branded, the second one is for Generic Trade. The unbranded CDA’s usually have got a smaller number.

Supported file formats:
MAIN files - .mbn .bin
FS files - .fbn .bin

Flashing the firmware to your phone:

1. Connect your phone while holding down the “C” button.
2. After your XS++ successfully recognized your phone it will switch to the “Flash” tab automatically. Check “Flash Main Firmware”, “Flash File System” and “Customize File System”.
3. Choose your firmware and CDA, then press the “Flash” button.

Do this if the custpack you need is not implemented in XS++:
4. Download the custpack you need
5. Extract the files into the “own_custpack” folder in XS++
NOTE: Make sure that the first folder in own_custpack is “tpa”
6. Do steps 1. and 2.
7. Check “Customize file system”
8. Select “Own Custpack” in the “Select phone Model” dropdown menu
9. Press the “Flash” button

NOTE: Your phone will NOT work if you don’t customize the files system after flashing the FS. You will get an configuration error after trying to turn it on.

Upgrading the EROM

1. Download an EROM that suits your phone.
2. Connect your phone while holding down the “C” button.
3. Insert the EROM file in “Flash Main Firmware” .
4. Press the “Flash” button.

Second dapat alam mo kung anong Firmware ang dati mong gamit. pero try mo muna gamitin ung Sony Ericsson Upgrade Software (SEUS) go to www.sonyericsson.com download mo ung SEUS, pag d parin nag on ang red light parin gamitin mo na ito basta dapat half full ung battery mo.

yup pwede po mag rollback ng firmware. but you will need to find the firmware that you want. kc sa SEUS d sila nag rollback, post mo d2 ung CID and DB ng phone mo hanap kita ng BG001.:thumbsup:

Advantages ng upgrading your firmware, mas gaganda ang performance ng mobile mo, pero d lahat ng bagong firmware ay magugustuhan mo, may ibang mababago tulad ng sa video thumbnails d na sya gagalaw steady nalang sya unlike b4 nagplag sya. kaya it's up to you kung anung firmware ang suitable syo.:salute:

Again pat pls do try first using the SEUS, pero mukang may nakuha ka nang Firmware so i guess pwede na yan. But b4 you flash your phone make sure na half-full or better kung full charge ang mobile mo, second back up mo sa MMC mo ung contacts para d mawala.

Flashing is not that long pero dapat d mo sya magagalaw habang d pa tapos mag flash it could kill your phone, minsan less than 3 minutes lang po magpalit ng FS. if something goes wrong pls tell me and i will assist you thru YM, but not within this week naka schedule ako for operation this 21.:pray:

pwedeng ibalik ung dating firmware gamit ang SEtools2lite. Download k lng ng previous firmware mo. then open mo sa SEtools2lite:dance:

Ngek "Configuration Error" naku kung baga sa nokia Contact Service yan, papagaling muna ako then try natin revive yan.

@pat to fix your problem flash mo din dapat pati ung CUST PACK kc pag walang CUST PACK talagang magloloko yan, pasensya na kyo d ako matagal kc nagpapagaling ako.

my phone had this OPERATION FAILED problem with the apps&games folder so i tried to upgrade it via SEUS hoping maayos sya bud sadly it didn't solve my problem.

the main goes in the main box (make sure you unzip it first)
the fs goes in the filesystem box (make sure you unzip it first)
select customize filesystem check the drop down list of custpacks to see if it has the correct one for your phone,
if it does then select it and press flash.

sensya na mga tol' first time lang po... may question lang po ako tungkol dun sa phone ko, naka lock kase sya, SE W200i ang phone and ang best way na ma unlock is to flash lang daw yung phone sabi dun sa isang forum...

Flash mo using a Generic FS and Main tapos sa Cust pack depende sa languages na gusto mo, kung gusto mo ma unlock unit mo, try mo sa 4shared mag hanap dami nagpo-post dun ng mga FS,MAIN and CUST PACK. :salute:

naka download ako ng SEtool lite na flash ko sya but still naka lock parin yung network, may nabasa akong instruction n a kailangang may e check ako dun sa settings tab ng SEtools kaso lite version sya walang setting tab.. kaya ngayon naghahanap ako ng SE tools na Pro type. para ma unlock ko yung phone ko...

try ko rin yung XS++ naka download na ako ng firmware both MAIN & FS plus yung patch or custom firmeware, kaso nung e flash ko sya nag exit yung program, try ako sa ibang PC ganun din ang problem nag exit yung program... ano kayang problem nun???

mga guys pasensya na talaga ha... alam ko kaseng d2 lang sa forum na ito ang makakalutas ng problem ko sa phone ko...

mga masters, i have a w200i po, problem nya is after ko magtransfer ng files from/to pc medyo nag-la-lag na sya, tapos yung Games and Applications na folder di ko na mapasok ngayon, open lang ng open pero lang nangyayari besides dun, la namang ibang problema. tried to master reset it, kaso ganun pa din. so sa tingin ko po need ko ng i-flash yung phone ko kaso ito po ang nalabas sa XS++:
