me...dati but now di na, kc bz sa work.. but still looking forward na mkapag mountain climbing uli.. :pray:...kaw po mahilig ba? anong bundok naakyat nyo po?

Actually po di ako member ng mountaineering club, but active volunteer po ng Red Cross and RECON dati. It happened kc na yong mga volunteers ay members din ng mountaineering club.. kaya pag may mga minor climbs cla sumasama ako. Mga malilit lang na bundok yong nahike ko po..kc at that time student pa. I like talaga mag hike lalo na pag may mga falls na mgaganda...talagang sulit ang pagod mo di ba? but still looking forward na maakyat yong ibang mga bundok!!! :excited:

I'm into mountaineering for the past 3 years. I had invested almost 3/4's of my salary to my gears and it's worth it. I've been into situations that almost cost my life (2 times as I seem to recall) but I still keep on doing it.

Team Sagul on the otherhand is scheduling series of BMC courses for climbing aspirants.

For the past few years, Team Sagul has been organizing climbs and joining adventure races. Through these endeavors, we've gained the camaraderie, admiration, and respect of friends. Oftentimes, in adventure races, our racers' exceptional performance have led competitors to expect that we possess top-notch skills. We now have a reputation to keep and stand for. We intend to reinforce and keep that reputation through the training and knowledge of our members.

This aim has led us to answer a perennial question that we often face. How can I be a Team Sagul member?
When we started our team, we vowed never to impose initiations or requirements to anyone who wants to be a part of us. We reasoned out that this is simply an organized 'barkada' with a name. But it seems like that our good reputation has outdone us. We have realized that to be a Team Sagul member, one has to be ready to live up to our good reputation.

Team Sagul membership comes with a good identity. We intend to provide more than an ID and a uniform. We are offering you the privilege to be among the first batch of our very own TEAM SAGUL BASIC MOUNTAINEERING COURSE.

In the attachment, you'll find that our curriculum will prepare you to be a highly trained, skilled, responsible, and exceptional mountaineer. It is a culmination of lessons learned through our experiences, knowledge through books and research that we've applied, and training for skills used by the military, rescuers, and in adventure races that prove useful in our beloved extreme sport - mountaineering.

We've also laid out the schedule of our trainings. You will be trained by fellow experienced mountaineers and professional trainors. We've made sure that the trainings fall on weekends.

8/10/2008 (Sunday) = Orienteering, map reading, rope skills and knot tying.

8/24/2008 (Sunday) = Stamina and strength training, and preparation for rowing.

9/6/2008 - 9/7/2008 (Sat & Sun) = Mt. Sembrano climb (minor climb), and Mountaineering 101.

9/28/2008 (Sunday) = Stamina and strength training, and rowing.

10/3, 10/4, 10/5/2008 (Fri night, Sat, & Sun) = Mt. Ugo climb (major climb), and Mountaineering 101.

10/18/2008 - 10/19/2008 (Sat & Sun) = Mt. Romelo 'Famy' (minor climb), First Aid, Basic Water Safety, and Rappelling.

11/28, 11/29, 11/30, & 12/1/2008 (Fri night, Sat, Sun, & Mon dawn) = Mt. Pulag (major climb), Mountaineering 101, and awarding of membership ceremony.

The Team Sagul Basic Mountaineering Course fee is P2,000. It includes the training, batch t-shirt, certificate, and ID. Climbs and its expenses are not covered by the course. Kindly print the member profile, fill in all the blanks, and submit it back to us, together with your payment, on or before 7/25/2008. Mt Banahaw is already open, and this will be our 2nd trail maintenance climb- August 16 & 17, 2008.

This is a DENR permitted climb:)

Ano na kaya ang itsura ng mt. banahaw ngayon? 4X kong naakyat yon noong active pa ako sa mountaineering at ang pinakahuling akyat ko noong april 2003 pa sa mt. halcon, tagal ko ng natigil sa pag akyat naging busy na kasi :surrender:sa trabaho at pamilya.

indi naman kami mga professional climbers... nagbonding lang kami ng isang super adventuruous trip to Mt. Batulao. After 6 years nakabalik din kami sa bundok na to, pero iba na ung trail na dinaanan namin papunta sa summit (mas mahirap, mas delikado para sa mga katulad namin na naghahanap ng sakit ng katawan :)) ). 6 years ago hanggang peak8 lang kami, pero kahapon...weeeeeeeeee... upon reaching the summit..bliss tlg :D

kahit masakit sa katawan, ok lang. iba ung feeling na conquer mo ung sarili mo, tapos ung appreciation ng God's wonderful creations lalo na pag nasa summit ka, parang nasa Top of the World ka :D Hindi ko din maexplain dun sa mga kontrabida kung ano daw mapapala pag narating ung summit :getiton: basta ang alam ko lang, minsan talaga mahirap maintindihan ang mga bagay na hindi pa nararanasan :D kanyang-kayang passion lang talaga yan :)

nakapag invest din ako konti sa mga gamit sa mountaineering :D hindi ko na lang nasundan ulit kase naging busy na kung saan-saan :D

Honga ang ganda, san yan? Mt Maculot lang naakyat ko pero ilang beses na rn akong nakapaghiking sa benguet. I miss hiking and mountaineering..walang nag aaya sa akin....:noidea:

Unang durungawan pa lang yan. Camp site at 2000 M ASL. Ang Ikalawa at ikatlong Durungawan is just 100+ M above the 1st. Di lang namin nadala Camera...naiwan sa tent eh. Pag sumama ka, dala tayo Cam at kunan kita doon, hehehe. Practice mo na mga muscles mo.

Anawangin (traverse climb from Pundakit to Anawangin Cove) Please explore this hidden paradise and you will see. Also, pag sswertehen kayo makikita nyo ang herds of wild carabaos in the area very near to anawangin cove - some 150 M above sea level.
