This one is called "grunge effect" tutorial:
1) Get an image whatever size you like. Background color #D4BE93. Here i chose this one!

2) Filter --> Sharpen --> Sharpen
shift + Ctrl + u (desaturate) just to give that black & white look to your image.

3) Image --> Adjustments --> Brightness/Contrast Play around with the setting till you see something you like.
Here I used these simple settings:
+100 for both. Your layers should be looking like this image on the left.

4) Now you can either try and get rid of the white color in your image with the Magic wand tool (w) or just apply a layer effect (multiply) and the white is gone.
You can use part of this image
as grunge effect in your other
images.
