Actually, nung season 5 palang, wala na talagang laban yan. Kasi mas magagaling yung mga singers noon kaysa ngayong season. Noon kasi lahat ng natira ang gagaling talaga. Mahirap pumili. Ngayon, marami sa lalaki ang mahihina talaga. Puro safe yung songs nila. Yung mga kinakanta nila yung mga mellow. Takot silang mag all out. Pero yung mga babae bigay todo talaga. Kaya boto ako doon kay La Kisha at Melinda. Di ko lang alam kung tama spelling ko pero silang dalawa ang mga manok ko doon. Ang gagaling talaga. Walang effort sa pagkanta at swabeng swabe. Kaya naman ang puri sa kanila, kahit si Simon eh ganon nalang. Amazing ang Fantastic. :thumbsup:

I liked Chris and McPhee also but for me it was Taylor all the way. I liked his voice ala Micheal McDonald. A little old taste you might say but I guess America liked him too.

Stacey, 29, of Jacksonville, Fla., and Chris Richardson, 22, of Chesapeake, Va., drew the fewest votes. With their departure, the number of finalists is down to four. The winner will be chosen May 23.

Randy Jackson said on Tuesday's program that Stacey's take on Bon Jovi's "Blaze Of Glory" was his "best performance ever." Stacey — a "good man," said host Ryan Seacrest — performed that song one last time on Wednesday, as LaKisha Jones and other finalists wiped away tears.

American Idol 6 - Lakisha Jones has been eliminated. Last night's episode of 'American Idol' featured former Bee Gees singer, Barry Gibb who was on hand to coach the four remaining Idol hopefuls.

However, it certainly wasn't one of the more popular shows.

Idol final four Blake Lewis, Melinda Doolittle, LaKisha Jones, and Jordin Sparks all sang two songs apiece, they got critical reviews from that famous panel of three.

The four finalists averaged 25.5 million viewers, according to ratings that were released on Wednesday afternoon.

TV Envy points out that all four competitors received at least one round of less-than-stellar reviews from the AI judges, three people who obviously were expecting to be blown away at last night’s live show and ended up feeling let down.

But then again what did you really expect from Bee Gees night?

LaKisha Jones started to fade shortly after she was in the final 12. At one point she was one of the front runners to win the competition. However, she never did live up to expectations.

Poor song choices and a generous amount of criticism from the judges contributed to her downfall.

It's too bad, she was easily still one of the strongest voices in this season's competition. Goodbye, LaKisha!

Jordin Sparks is safe and so is Melinda Doolittle. Blake Lewis will beat box for another week.

"American Idol" voters kicked the most experienced professional singer out of the running on Wednesday to put a chirpy male contestant and a 17-year-old girl with a huge voice into the final round of the smash hit TV talent contest.

Miranda Doolittle, 29, a long-time backup singer who has stunned the show's judges and viewers with her voice since entering the competition as a super-shy contestant, was voted out in a closely fought contest by a telephone vote.

Her departure leaves Blake Lewis, 25, and Jordin Sparks, 17, as the finalists in the sixth season of "American Idol," which has produced a list of successful recording stars from its winners -- and its losers.

"You already have made it," said Paula Abdul, one of the three judges on the Fox network series that ranks as America's most popular television show.

Acerbic fellow judge Simon Cowell, who has backed Doolittle as a singer throughout the contest was full of praise.

"Congratulations to you. You are one heck of a singer," he said.

Doolittle, from Brentwood, Tennessee, entered the annual contest with years of experience as a backup singer while Sparks, of Glendale, Arizona, has won children's contests but cannot boast the same level of experience.

Lewis, who is a full-time musician, won over "American Idol" viewers with his personality.

"American Idol" has become such a phenomenon that even singers eliminated before the end, such as recent Oscar winner Jennifer Hudson from the movie musical "Dreamgirls," have made major inroads in the entertainment world.

Sparks fly! Jordin is new ‘American Idol’
17-year-old from Tucson, Ariz., beats Blake for season six title

LOS ANGELES - The big voice overwhelmed the beatbox Wednesday night as Jordin Sparks was crowned the newest and youngest “American Idol.”

Sparks, 17, of Glendale, Ariz., prevailed over Blake Lewis, 25, of Bothell, Wash., after a triumphant performance Tuesday that wowed the show’s judges and viewers who gave her a majority of the record 74 million votes cast.

“Mom, Dad, I love you,” Sparks, the daughter of retired NFL player Phillippi Sparks, said tearfully after a bear hug from Lewis.

The contest came down to either the stronger singer, Sparks, or the better entertainer, Lewis. Sparks delivered her songs simply and powerfully; Lewis’ flourishes included his sound-effects beatboxing and sharp dance moves.

The finale pulled out the stops and the stars, with Gwen Stefani, Smokey Robinson, Tony Bennett, Bette Midler, Green Day and more performing.

The two-hour show opened with Lewis and Sparks dueting on the Beatles “I Saw Her Standing There,” followed quickly by a touring Stefani singing “4 in the Morning” via satellite from Massachusetts.

Midler took the stage as the show came toward its close, singing “The Wind Beneath My Wings.”

Gladys Knight took the stage with the six female finalists, belting out “I Feel a Song” and “Midnight Train to Georgia.” Bennett performed a mellow version of “For Once in My Life” that ended with a big finish.

“A true idol, Tony Bennett, ladies and gentlemen,” Seacrest gushed, with good reason.

Melinda Doolittle, arguably the best “Idol” contestant to miss out on the finale, returned to impress the crowd again as she sang “Hold Up the Line” with gospel stars BeBe and CeCe Winans.

“She has proven in the last few months to be spectacular,” BeBe Winans said backstage of Doolittle.

The show took a serious turn when Green Day performed “A Working Class Hero is Something to Be,” a single from “Instant Karma: The Campaign to Save Darfur,” a fundraising album for the embattled region.

The finale also had its share of filler, including bits such as the “Golden Idols,” an award saluting the oddest of odd auditions, or the worst. The winners included Margaret Fowler, who proudly accepted her trophy and recited poetry after smooching Seacrest.

Magpapapangit sa Pinoy Idol in my opinion ay yung mga judges at hosts. Syempre gagayahin nila yung mga tiga States. Naiimagine ko pa lang nasusuka na ko.

Anyways, back to AI. Agree ako magaling ang top 24 this season. I like Ramiele, David Hernandez, David Archuleta, Carly Smithson and Michael Johns. Hope they all make the cut towards the next round.

I knew her personally when i was still in high school in florida. Nkatira sya sa Miami and i lived in Palm Beach, they are both in Tri-County, I used to see her in our YFC events. She was also an ex-gf of a friend of mine.

Sumali na rin sya sa Star Search. Alam ko nanalo sya dun. Now he's trying his luck sa AI and I think he has a pretty good chance. I like the consistency in him. :D

He's really born with that, I think. Sabi ko nga sumali na sya sa Star Search and he already has the experience in these kinds of competition.

Kaya lang, he has a problem with remembering the lyrics. Saka minsan parang bibigay na yung boses nya. Nagbibinata kasi hehe.

I will place my money on her she will reach top 6. But top 3, I am not so sure. Pero tingin ko naman she's more likable than Jasmine Trias. So pwede pa siguro. Syempre I would want her to win kasi Pinoy Pride. :D
