Watching the news yesterday as the events unfolded made me laugh. Just think about it, Gumamit pa ng APC(armored personnel carrier) ang gobyerno sa assault nila sa hotel. WTF! It just made them look bad. Sino ba ang kalaban nila sa loob, hindi nga nagreturn fire ang Magdalo. Kung may nagreturn fire pa eh malamang may namatay na sa assualt team. And the "movement to contact" ng SAF just sucks! Mas magaling pa ang tactics ng mga airsosfters sa kanila.

Think about it. If the government needed 3 APCs and a few hundred full-battle geared SAF/marines just to arrest a couple of people, how can the government eradicate the Abu Sayaf or any other armed insurgent groups?

Trillanes was right when he said that the government would do anything just to keep their power. Its just too sad to think na most people would just rather sit down and turn a blind eye on the corruption/abuses of the current government, than fight for what is right.

Methinks otherwise. I think Trillanes is just a puppet. And who's the puppet master? Who knows. He had a bewildered look on his face, like he has no freakin' idea what was going on.

It was not a mutiny. It was a political protest that went too far.

And there is no negative effect as far as i can tell. In fact, the value of the peso increased!!! Yesterday the Peso was 4.7 for the dollar. Today its 42.5250. Where's the negative effect?

I understand what your trying to say.

But, first off, they didnt take over the hotel, they couldnt do it with the amount of weapons that they had. they went there to have a press conference to make a statement regarding their grievances against the government of GMA. If you have watched the whole event as it happened( I saw the news from both GMA and ABS from 1 till the end of the assault) you may have noticed that the persons with guns inside the hotel didnt threaten the guests, some of the guests/civilians inside the hotel was even seen posing and taking pictures of each other before the assault. We were laughing our as**s off when we saw that. Kasi sa GMA na report is that there was an ongoing gun battle during the first phase of the assault, pero the view inside the hotel(ABSCBN cameras) was far from that.

They didnt caused the damages. As far as I can remember, it was the government troops who shot their way into the hotel lobby with the help of those armored personnel carriers. It was the APC who crashed and destroyed the doors of the hotel. And they had to surrender, a smart soldier knows when the battle his fighting is lost.
