The Electronics industry is rapidly changing affecting most every product in the market. When learning electronics the ability to understand and troubleshoot related circuit will mean the difference between a weak understanding of electronics theory and being able to grow with the field.
Troubleshooting means finding out why a circuit is not doing what it is supposed to do. Every engineer and technicians does a lot of troubleshooting when designing and testing electronic circuits.
To start with, there are only two possible directions of current, "plus to minus" or "minus to plus". Some people insist that current flows positive to negative (conventional current flow) while others will take the opposite directions i.e. form negative to positive (electron flow).
A sense of directions helps us to see how the power-supply voltage forces the current around the circuit and through the parts. This sense of direction helps us to see how defective parts can affect the flow.
As an Engineer or Technician which one do you prefer to follow when troubleshooting, a conventional current flow or an electron flow and WHY?
