hi everyone, long time no post! what're you guys reading these days? anyway share ko lang my previous reads. :)


Warriors of Ankh Series by Smamantha Young - super cool! Maganda pala siya. Though I think the series could've been more epic, because she has really strong characters pero I still love it to the bones. The author captured the heroines struggle bet. who she is and who she can be beautifully, as well as the romance syempre..hihi! :p

The Darkest Seduction by Gena Showlater - GS outdid herself with this one! As a follower of the series I can really tell that she holds Paris dear in her heart, and super inspired sya while writing his story. Wow sa twists as in!

Because of Low by Abbi Glines - I have read Breathe, where Marcus is 1st introduced and I can say that the writing has definitely improved! I enjoyed this novel more. She managed to make Marcus & Low's romance very believable even though may gusto si Marcus kay Sadie before. so yay for that! :D

About That Night by Julie James - Ms. James did not disappoint me with this one. The witty banters and sassy yet classy dialogues w/c I love in her novels are very much present. Aliw yung story, though sana she showed more conflict on their romance sa may end, medyo bitin. haha

Cinder by Marissa Meyer - What if Cinderella was a cyborg, in a dystopian world, in a country now called New Beijing? Wonder no more because that's what she is in Cinder..gah! Why didn't I read this sooner?! :kainis:

Cinder is badass, like Katniss-badass. She's a mechanic, w/ a super opinionated robot for an assistant (super love her! sana makaimbento sila ng robot na katulad ni Iko at mapunta sakin! harharhar!).

Of course we cant forget Prince Charming diba..introducing, Prince Kai (:wub::cloud9::wub::cloud9:)! Hay, Prince Kai..dreamy, swoon worthy Prince Kai, haha halata ba sa emoticons ang feelings ko? :p. What I love about him is that he wasn't portrayed to be the all-perfect, untouchable hero. He's the gorgeous prince but he is also the shy, boy next-door. I love how their romance developed, though super nakakabitin sa ending.

The plot is brilliant and is set to be super epic. Swear. May plague, may robots, may people na nakatira sa Moon, may prinsesang nawawala, and of course may evil stepmother and stepsister.

Fateful by Cluadia Gray - A paranormal twist on The Titanic. Well written, well researched book. Of course the (jack & rose) movie visual also helps. Super vivid ng images. It kept me reading even though I already knew what will happen to the ship. Maganda yung ending, though bitin again. Pwede syang gawing series ni author dahil may mga unresolved conflicts pa. :D

Demons at Deadnight by A & E Kirk - hiiiiiiiiiii! This novel is hilarious!!!:lolcard: As in super fun, filled with sarcasm and snarky comments all through out the story. Lots of action. If you love anime, you'll love this novel. Some of the scenes here eh sa anime lang nakikita, like demons being flung to the sky, flying off stair banisters, being whacked on the head, things like that. :hit::giggle:

Aurora, the heroine is very sarcastic and funny. Add her to the Hex Boys, did I mention there are six of them? Yeah, six adorably, dorky, sexy and mysterious boys. Kaloka mga dialogues nila. And the romance bet. Aurora and one of them is comparable to Kiera and Kellan's (from Thoughtless), as in magnetic and consuming, though much more younger-teenage-girls friendly.

i finished reading A Week to be Wicked by Tessa Dare (booo...1 book lang :lol:) it was nice and sweet (a level lower than Linda Howard's Duncan's Bride and Eloisa James' When Beauty Tamed the Beast), so if anyone still likes historical romances i recommend this one :)

I'll wait for the third book to come though cuz i heard bitin din yung book 2.

Violet Eden Chapters by Jessica Shirvington >>> I wasn't expecting to enjoy this series because Violet annoys me sometimes, the reason I read the second book was because of Phoenix, I know he's supposed to be the bad guy, but I just love him. I enjoyed Emblaze, ayun lang kakabitin, I can't wait to read the next book!

I really enjoyed Marchetta's writing , may mga parts na very emotional and then a character will blurt a joke to relieve the tension, ayun ang galing, parang emotional roller coaster ride lang, =p

The Extraordinary Secrets of April, May, & June by Robin Benway >>> Hillarious!!! This book will make you laugh so hard until your stomach hurt.

Forbidden by Tabitha Suzuma>>> I finally gave in, LOL. I was reluctant in reading this novel kasi nga incestous daw, but after reading it, I wasn't disgusted. In fact, I wanted Maya and Lochan to be together so bad. Haayyy, another tear-jerker.

Amy and Roger's Epic Detour by Morgan Matson >>> If you liked Nick and Norah's Infinite playlist by Rachel Cohn and David Levithan you'll enjoy this one too. May similarities kasi yung structure nung dalawang novels.

Here are the books I've recently read and my thoughts:

Froi of the Exiles by Melina Marchetta - So I loved the first book, Finnikin of the Rock so I was expecting this to be as amazing. While it was still great, I didn't like it as much probably because I didn't really like the girl here. Haha. I love Marchetta's writing though so I'll probably read more of her works!

I Hunt Killers by Barry Lyga - Something very original, imo and not something that I've seen before in YA. Definitely a darker topic but the author injects some humor into it. I love the main character and I love that this book was more introspective.

I Am Number Four: The Lost Files: Nine's Legacy - I just read this one now but I gotta say that I don't really like Nine haha. He seemed so arrogant to me but you guys might feel differently. Can't wait for the Rise of Nine.

The False Prince by Jennifer Nielsen - I really liked this. The plot was really interesting and multi-layered. I also loved the main character. He was very clever and also witty. I saw the twist coming, but it was still a good read.

The List by Siobhan Vivian - I expected a lot from this but in the end, it just really disappointed. There seemed to be no answers to my questions and the whole thing wasn't really explained and tackled at all. It left off leaving me feeling like something was lacking.

The Fault in Our Stars by John Green - It was a touching story and it had really wonderful phrases. I wish I loved this as much as others obviously do, but it just didn't do so much for me...

Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card - I can see why this is famous and why people love it! For a novel written back in the 80's it's definitely very futuristic and technology is really the focus of society now and our main means of communication. I love this because it deals with human nature as well and how people think.

The Serpent's Shadow by Rick Riordan - A good conclusion to the series! Especially the little things revealed there at the end.. Makes me think that maybe we'll be seeing something more in the future. A merging of worlds, maybe? Hmm I hope so!

I love the kane chronicles ... pero like percy jackson, gusto ko tapusin to na audiobook ang gamit... im still waiting for it.. but i really wnna know something ... mamamatay ba si Walt? uhm maybe you can post it na naka white fonts tapos highlight ko nalang hehe spoiler kasi... i just really really really want to know before i listen to it.

Divergent Series by Veronica Roth - I love it as in..I'm glad that I just read this now, and I got to read the 2 books back to back..though I suggest not to compare this to Hunger Games, para no disappointments..most of the reviews I read kasi have the prob of comparing this to HG, to me the series has its own charm, and nagandahan naman ako, esp sa 2nd book, and the end had me wishing for the 3rd already..

Love Tobias too! Though I'm more fond of his nickname, Four..hihi..I agree I liked Tris better sa 1st book, pero I love their struggles naman in the 2nd book, you know, their fights..so I appreciate Tris' behavior nadin, and how she seemed more like she knows herself..I also love how the book takes off running, mas action-packed sya kesa sa 1st one..and I can only imagine the 3rd book, with the way it was left sa ending..you know [spoiler->] I've always wondered why the world is contained in one city lang, no descriptions of what's outside it..yun pala may pagka Maze Runner sya.. hay I wish the release will come sooner..

OA lang ang mga yun, ang SAW movies ang nakaka bigay ng nightmare, hahaha, if you read Sophie Jordan's firelight series, ganun ka bitin ang naramdaman ko nung natapos ko ang book 1. sa August pa ang release ng book 2. Girl of Nightmares - wait mode.

Hands down sa story nila. LOLS. Super bilib ako kay FOUR (love the nick too :) ) cuz he stayed with Tris kahit anu pa mang mga awayan nila. Ayun.. oh well, another year of waiting? ;)

btw, your "hindi nakakabore na book" can be a really enjoyable book to another reader.

Ian Somerhalder totally wants to play smoldering sexpot Christian Grey in whatever film adaptation of the hit light S&M novel Fifty Shades of Grey might be made -- but someone very close to the actor isn't so keen on the idea.

My gay friend posted this stuff in facebook too, i think aside from Ian, si Ryan Gosling and Matt Bommer eh gusto din yata yung role. I'm not really sure pero pinost lang din nung friend ko sa fb. Ian is perfect, I wouldn't mind if Matt Bomer gets the role too because I love him, LOL, pero parang di ko ma-imagine si Ryan as Christian Grey.

The Iron Fey Series by Julie Kagawa - Swear! I did not expect I'd ever read a book about fairies, but this, I super love! It did turn out as my exception in this genre, though I hope meron pa, but for now I'm content with this series..WOW, now I see what all the good reviews are about, I was missing out! this series is def. way up on my fave list..I read everything including the novellas and any others I could get my greedy hands on..and I'm now patiently waiting for the spin-off!

Despite it being summer, I haven't had that much time to read :( Posting my recent ones though..

Insurgent by Veronica Roth - Way better than the first book. I actually liked this one. The first was like... okay lang in my opinion but the author definitely improved with this one. More action and more character development with Tris :) I'd recommend this now.

Goliath by Scott Westerfeld - The last book in the Leviathan trilogy. It's a steampunk novel. It revolves around WWI and it's more of an alternate reality. Did not like the ending that much though but still, I really liked this series! Sad to see it end.

The Enchantress by Michael Scott - Again, the last book in the series. It definitely ended with a bang and answered questions that were posed throughout the series. A lot of action but also heartwarming moments.

The Merchant's Daughter by Melanie Dickerson - Sort of a retelling of Beauty and the Beast. It's also a Christian fiction (I did not know before reading it) so God is very prominent here. I really liked the main characters. I quite liked this one too.

Prophecy of the Sisters by Michelle Zink - It was okay, but I was expecting more. The main tone of the book was a bit dreary and mostly inner monologue which wasn't all that... captivating. I've read books focusing on the inner thoughts of the characters which were done so much better. Hopefully the next books improve. I'm eager to see what happens to the sisters.

Another Easy fan here. hehe Easy is easily my fave YA romance novel. Definitely good! Highly Recommended! Though, it kinda reminded me of Beautiful Disaster maybe because they're in college and the hero--being a bad boy and all-- seemed out of the girl's league. But without the hero's craziness in Beautiful Disaster. Everything I loved about BD, I found in Easy.

After this, Landon Lucas is hands down the best YA hero for me. :) I mean he's hot, hardworking, responsible, intelligent, martial artist, and he can cook too! What more could a girl ask for? lol

LIKE FRIKKING A LOOOTTT, and still.. they have their moments.

1. WHAT A BOY WANTS by Nyrae Dawn - To me, this is good kasi it's written in the guy's POV. He's so sure of himself talaga nung una. It was really fun reading of him eating his own words in the end (morbid ba? ahaha). This is one good story of finding love which has been right in front of you all along.

2. WHAT A BOY NEEDS by Nyrae Dawn - Guy's POV too. Yung protagonist dito na guy eh barkada nung nasa What a boy wants. Tighly knitted kasi sila. Anywayyy.. this is good too kasi it showed us the ugly truth na minsan talaga, some aren't fit to be parents... and kahit ganun, you have to feel good about your self. Don't let others bring you down with just some words. I remember feeling good after reading this book even though his family never made up.

3. Fragile by M. Leighton - Boy and girl POV. Emotional and yet, super sweet read. You will have to forgive the main guy at first kasi super obnoxious nya. Pero his character changes eventually. The girl on the other hand... YOU WILL BE AMAZED. Somehow, you'd want to have her strength of character and you'd want to be like her. Super positive kasi nya lagi and she always sees something good about everything. I dunno.. maybe I'm just sappy.. pero I really liked this one especially the grand gesture in the end.

4. Sea Griswold's Head by Lindsey Leavitt - Girl POV. One of those reads na ang sarap hampasin nung girl while we all console the guy. . . and still, you wanna finish it kasi may meaning and may lesson yung story. You'd want to know kung matututo ba sya or not. Anyway, I love this kasi maganda yung story. Ewan ko, I just find this unique. Mejo funny pero may tear jerkers na scenes.

5. EASY - IT'S EASY TO LOVE EASY. NEED I SAY MORE?? ≧❀‿❀≦

6. What I didn't say by Keary Taylor - Guy's POV (I know, I know, I am on a roll for guys' pov's). DISCLAIMER: You will feel sorry for the guy kasi he lost his voice pero you will feel SORRIER for the girl. This is another good YA story which will teach us to SEIZE THE DAY (corny eh? pero yun talaga.. I swear). I found Jake's written words (on paper, since he cannot speak anymore) cute. May ups and downs din since I really don't know what to expect from a mute YA character. But all in all, i loved it. (◡‿◡✿) *sigh*


YA PARANORMALS:

1. Demons at Deadnight by A&E Kirk - Mother-daughter tandem ang authors nito. Isn't it great? I love this kasi pwede natin isama si main girl, Aurora sa KICKASS GIRLS list. Super action packed. Maybe the only downside is that the action scenes are so many and it ended too fast. Anyway, SIX HOT GUYS ang nandito... i know, i know mejo weird, but still, whatever works for them, right? Mataas parin rating nito sa goodreads.

2. Storm by Brigid Kemmerer - Apparently, I am also on a roll for books with reverse-harem. This one's got 4 hot guys in it. Each of them has powers and all that cool stuff. I sorta kinda remember THE COVENANT (movie) with this one. Kaya kung fan ka nung movie na yun, this one's for ya honeyyy. Mejo nakakainis yung girl so I won't go into full detail about her. I just wanna get to the next book.. which is.. sa August pa. Hmpf.

3. Defiance --Third book in The Significance Series by Shelly Crane - Can I just say, too sweet? Mejo uber sweet nga to pero I totally love what happened in the end (except for one part). I am a fan of this series so sana maganda and ending.. hindi ko kasi nagustuhan yung ending ng isang series ni SC (Devoured).. mejo bland so I truly hope na it doesn't happen in this one too.

I actually listened to it's audiobooks and it's totally WORTH IT. Fantasy, anybody? Who wants to laugh out loud while imagining being a friend of the protagonist, Atticus? This series is just plain AWESOME! It has the right mixture of paranormal beings, sense of humor and action scenes. Super smart ni Atticus and I really want to be with him. I guess I also owe it sa narrator (Luke Daniels, narrated UNWIND too) kasi he has such a great voice parang totoo talaga. Romance? um sorry my girlies, kahit super gwapo ng guy sa front cover, wala pa akong nababasang concrete romance dito. Well, book 2 palang naman ako... so, we shall see.

--> I am confused on what genre this should be at... no concrete romance so Romance is out. The guy looks 21 but he's actually thousands and thousands years old so I guess YA is also out. That leaves us with fantasy,.. yeah, maybe it's fantasy,

Anywayyy.. I recommend this series to all. Please read it if you have time. (✿◠‿◠)

jeffrey archer - eleventh commandment, a matter of honor, honor among thieves (these are archer's non saga type/kind of books which i prefer)

for medical thriller, michael palmer and robin cook (ayaw mo ng magpadoctor pagkatapos mung magbasa ng mga books nila :lol: )

Title: The Maze Runner, The Scorch Trials, The Death Cure
Author : James Dashner
Genre: Young Adult - Dystopia

Main Character: Thomas
At first his a bit annoying, but later on the trilogy, His good sense of of judgement saves the day

Fave Character: Minho
The asian guy. Keeper of the Runners. Kinda, bossy in book 2. And lots of temper on this guy. But that is what keeps him interesting.

Newt
One of the gladers. What a sad ending on this character. :(


As intriguing as the summary may be the pacing was kind of slow in the first half of maze runner. It sounded a little confusing at first but really exciting at the same time.

The mystery and curiosity of the story has kept me going.

When I finished the first book,I didn’t expect to enjoy and I wanted to continue reading the book immediately.

the 2nd book, The Scorch Trials, I felt the book was ended abruptly. So much intense and action happen, i didn't realize its over. I can't believe the characters went that far on the trials.



The story progressed at such a quick pace (second half of the first book book 3) to that you couldn’t catch your breath. I couldn’t believe what was happening during the entire series, and couldn’t stop reading.


Dashner does an excellent job of crafting a world of teenage boys. The egos, the attitudes, the language, the brotherhood.

The Maze Runner was intersting and intriguing , The Scorch Trials was unbelievable, and The Death Cure made for an unforgettable ending that I felt a little sadness because the trilogy is over.

There are a lot of books. I wish i could encounter like this one ,(with emotional spin) - a good story

Genre: Young Adult - Dystopia, Paranormal

Main Char:

Penryn - Reminds me a great deal of the infamous Katniss Everdeen. She is brave, resourceful & kickass. She doesn't wait to be saved but takes matters into her own hands. When there's a problem, she does her best to solve it. She may be desperate but she is also a survivor.

Raffe - there’s a certain amount of arrogance about him, but he’s mostly just charming.
Charming and arrogant with ethereal, demi god features = yummy! more! more!


I never thought I would love this book. First, I hate YA novels with angels as characters. I dont know why, I guess my first YA was not as good as this one. I was convinced by my fellow symbianize readers, that Angelfall is a must read, knock out book. well it turns out it is. Even it is Indie, The quality is topnotch. I love the banter between the characters, it makes me smile while i'm reading.


Hoping the book 2, will show more romance side of the characters as well as action and intrigue. and of course more Raffe!

halfway pa lang ako sa book (long time ago)....di pa rin talaga ako maka-YA...or better yet, di talaga ako mahilig sa dystopian stories. di ko kasi maimagine na mga YA ang magsasave sa mundo after a major world war or post apocalyptic event :lol: i am crazy :lol:
