Facebook Zero was launched and now users can be able to use Facebook on their mobile phones wherever they are for FREE! No, Im not talking about having a phone that has Wi-Fi capability then going to a mall that has free wi-fi for everyone, then accessing Facebook, no not that kind of thing.
What I am talking about is using your mobile phone’s 3G connection on a place that has no wi-fi connection, and still be able to access your FB account for free. For the record, no not wi-fi, not leeching on someone or somebody for a wireless internet connection, but using the 3G capability of your mobile phone all for FREE.
Facebook Zero is a lighter version of facebook, well you know when they say “lighter” version that just means that those heavy graphics that eat up loading time is removed such as Photos, videos etc… All that is left are the essential functions’ that facebook has like News Feed, status updates, profile Walls and messaging.
The best of all, Facebook has collaborated with 50 mobile carriers around the world to have this Facebook Zero implemented… and fortunately Philippines is included in the country list, funny enough though that there are no US Based mobile carriers that are included in the list….
Here is the look of the Facebook Zero when accessed on your mobile phone through 0.facebook.com (zero dot facebook dot com)

And here are the list of Countries that supports the Facebook Zero together with the corresponding mobile carriers that allows you to surf 0.facebook.com (zero dot facebook dot com) for FREE!

So according to the image above, unfortunately, only Sun Cellular users can access the 0.facebook.com (zero dot facebook dot com) for FREE, I dont want to reiterate this but for the sake of those users who are too excited to surf facebook on their mobile phones for FREE and overlooked what I just wrote… ONLY SUN SUBSCRIBERS can be able to access 0.facebook.com (zero dot facebook dot com) FOR FREE.
Simply put, if your are a Globe, Smart Sun, Talk N’ Text, Touch Mobile, Red Mobile or whatever you mobile carrier is then it is not free… unless you have the unlimited surfing promo of some of the mobile phone carriers like Globe’s Unlisurf and whatnot then you would incur and would pay something for accessing your facebook account using the 3G connection….
Who knows, other mobile phone operators might follow suit and would also make the 0.facebook.com (zero dot facebook dot com) Free. Well, we just have to wait and see.
