my mum also had the vinyl collection of VST & Co. thats where i learned how to speak Filipino.. bwahahahah

ako naman flexible ako in terms of music.. sa paggigitara tumutugtog ako ng acoustic, rocc, alternative, rnb etc... hmm.. pero since elementary nakikinig na talaga ako ng mga bounce music... specifically hiphop music.. mga old school hiphop pa... like Vanilla Ice.. Will Smith.. makalumang Bone Thugs N Harmony.. 2pac. hmm... sa rocc at sa mga genre na halos rocc na rin nakikinig rin ako.. Goo Goo Dolls, Blink 182, Metallica.. kahit ano.. :) i was once then involved sa local rap scene ng Davao.. :)

Power. Pure power.

There's something primal about rock music, the beating of the drums, the screaming, coupled with with a wide range of possible melodies make a great sound. I sometimes lisen to Metallica before sleeping. I'm more on old school rock, the music these days has lost its purity. It's all candy pop.

Medyo compatible dito music genres na gusto ko. I have read each entry in this thread and it seems I found myself eccentric. Halos lahat na kasi ng tao sa generation na 'to gusto rock eh. Though this is what it may seem, why can't I be free to like whichever I want to like and just feel free to continue liking them? It's just respect, kung gusto mo, gusto mo, kung ayaw, e di huwag pakinggan, heheheh.

Eto ang sa 'kin in order of preference, plus the artists who inspired me to like them

1. pop - dito karamihan ng love songs way way back to the '70s. since childhood up to now, this is what i mostly prefer to listen to. most of the time senti ako eh, hehe. artists belonging to this genre that i love listening to: gary valenciano, regine velasquez, martin nievera, debbie gibson, tiffany, celine dion, toni braxton, gloria estefan, peabo bryson, kenny loggins, kenny rogers, the carpenters, barbra streisand, simon and garfunkel, tina arena, michael bolton, air supply, and you get the score.

2.5. classic rock - i am partial to rock, kasi karamihan masakit sa tenga pero 'yung rock nung kaunaunahan astig pa rin. bands: queen, meatloaf, michael learns to rock, no doubt, eagles, rod stewart, cranberries, and a lot more na di ko matandaan...

2.5. r&b - noong highschool di ko ma-appreciate 'to pero ngayon okay na rin sa akin christina aguilera, lindsay lohan, beyonce knowles, britney spears, justin timberlake, jojo, and the similar others...

4. alternative - kaunti lang alam ko dito kasi ngayon lang ako naging aware sa ganitong klaseng music eh. pero kahit di ko kilala yung mga artists, eto yung pinakagusto kong i-explore kasi ito yung pinaka-match sa personality ko - yung tugtog, lyrics, at saka relaxing siya na di sobrang senti. sarap pakinggan at di mahirap kantahin. artists: evanescence, the fray, jewel, not sure... please inform me more about this genre since i like to explore it. thanks

5. classical - yung mga instrumental lang na mostly piano, violin, sax, minsan may kasamang vocals. eto yung boring nang kaunti pero yung pinaka-relaxing at nakakaantok (kaya relaxing). ito 'yung tipong kahit tumutugtog tahimik pa ring pakinggan. nakakatulong 'to nang malaki sa pagrereview or pagmemeditate. artists include: beethoven, chopin, canon, kenny g, charlotte church (siya lang period, yung iba nakakarindi na sa tenga, siya yung kumanta ng "all love can be" sa movie na "a beautiful mind" starring russell crowe), yanni, enya, atbp...

6. OPM rock - ito 'yung generation natin ngayon na parang medyo nag-la-lie-low di gaya dati. artists include: kamikazee (hehe, gusto ko lang yung narda, ayoko ng dubi doo), hale (para sa 'kin may class 'to, favorite ko), cueshe (kawawa 'tong bandang 'to nung UP Fair, hehe), parokya ni edgar, eraserheads, spongecola, kitchie nadal, imago, orange and lemons, calla lily, tapos yung iba na nag-a-attempt pa lang gumawa ng pangalan sa industriya

7. techno - pinaka-unfamiliar na genre pero ito yung mga masarap i-indak. ito ba yung mga naririnig sa discotech? wala akong alam, nanghuhula ako, kita niyo na? hehehe...

di naman ako totally against boy bands pero mabuti na lang wala na sila o halos laos na, hehehe

3. classical (i cannot totally abandon this one after discovering yanni at saka hindi kumukupas sa pandinig ko si enya, nakaka-antok boses niya)
