New Mobile Browsing P5 for 15mins
http://www1.globe.com.ph/img/GlobeMobileInternet2.jpg
Need to send and receive emails on the go? Do research on the fly? Or catch the latest movie schedule on the way to that oh so important date? Whatever your internet needs, be it communication, information or entertainment, you can now get what you want, wherever you are with Globe’s mobile browsing service.

Surf’s Up!
With the first and only 3G/HSDPA network in the country and a wide GPRS and EDGE network, Globe allows you to stay connected wherever there’s a Globe signal at up to 1.4Mbps with peaks of up to 1.8 Mbps. All you need is a browsing-capable handset, a Globe Prepaid or Postpaid SIM and you can already connect using the signal and speed available to you.

Surf the Way You Want To
You can now choose how you are charged when you surf the net on your phone be it by KB (kilobyte) or by TIME (per minute).

* KB Browsing Rate
This kind of charging is best for info-based browsing like browsing for the latest news or movie schedules, searching online dictionaries and checking sports stats. Since you are charged only P0.15/kb, a search for the definition to a puzzling word would only cost P2.30 while checking that movie schedule would only cost about P1.62.

* Time Browsing Rate
This charging scheme is best used for multimedia-based activities like sending and receiving files through email or even viewing pictures and videos. All these are done more affordably when you use Time Charging at P5 for 15minutes.

*Time Browsing Rate is open to Globe Prepaid, Postpaid
Consumer Accounts, SME and Corporate accounts. Not
applicable to subscribers on Data Plans (i.e. Visibility). Time
Browsing rate effective upon receipt of text confirmation.

Yung statement na If disconnected within the 15 minutes, reconnection will be considered a new session charged at P5. ano ba ibig sabihin nito?

na try ko na using my phone as modem. it's way faster kumpara sa smart. 6630 unit ko. nakapag dl ako ng mga bangbus trailers at 32 -44 kbps at no extra charge. bilis. siguro depende nalang sa location kung mddc. pro kung kaw yung tipo na "use when needed" type of internet user, swak to para syo.

finally! globe answers smart's time-based charge rates..

Mukhang ISP and problem e. Parang may firewall sila or something to do with proxies.

Di ko pa natry mag limewire using smart kasi mabagal sa kin kahit may 3g. Il post the speed test results as soon as i can bro.

Salamat!

hspda(high speed downlink packet access) also known as 3.5G is faster than 3G...ang tanong...3.5G ba ang CP mo?

N95 and other newest phones Nokia are the only hspda(3.5G) ready i know...but not N70,N73 and all under the s60v2 s60v1...

so useless ang hspda if phone nyo is old...and also mahina ang connection...:slap:

Ano ba phone mo kuya?

(N96, N95 etc)
or check this site, http://www.phonegg.com/List/HSDPA-Cell-Phones.html
list of HSDPA compatible cellphones..

P.S.

i think 6630 is the cheapest 3G phone..khit siguro 2K makakakuha ka ng ganun...kasi phase out na cla....second hand lang....pro mgandang phone ang 6630...lalo na ang keypad nio...and also maliwanag din ang cam kahit 1.3 mP lang....

so get a 6630 pwede ng pang net or use as modem sa PC para prepaid internet na xa...sa smart its 10P/30 mins sa globe i don't know if gagana ung TIMEd charging...5P/15 mins...pro if di gumana timed charging eh sa per kilo byte charging xa na 0.15P/kilobyte...

1mB = 1,000kB (kilobytes)
.15*1000kB = P150 per 1mB..
correct me if im wrong sa computation ko ho.. xDD
mas maganda na nga yung P5 for 15mins..

Cheers..
