The Nokia N810 Internet Tablet WiMAX Edition, introduced at CTIA Wireless 2008 in Las Vegas, is Nokia's first device designed to take advantage of wide-area, high-speed WiMAX networks. This pocket-sized device, an enhancement of the maemo™ open source-based Nokia N810 Internet Tablet introduced late last year, can also take up to 10 gigabytes (GB) of internal memory with an optional microSD memory card. Nokia also upgraded its Internet tablet OS; new features include an enhanced e-mail client, browser support for Chinese characters, and Seamless Software Update functionality. Users of the earlier Nokia N810 and Nokia N800 Internet tablets can upgrade their devices to run on the new OS. The Nokia N810 Internet Tablet WiMAX Edition will be available in the United States starting this summer 2008.
