Upgraded to V20.0.062 yesterday and here are my observations:
1. Geotagging is already integrated on its camera software
2. Flash Lite upgraded to version 3. Still mobitubia/emtube is the best IMO in viewing youtube videos
3. Auto screen rotation now works flawless, it even rotates at a 20º angle
4. Loudspeakers are a bit louder now when listening to music
5. No improvement on screen brightness
6. Plug and unplug USB cable, wired headset and external speakers a lot of times, thanks nokia i haven't experienced a single phone restart
7. Album art bug unresolve
8. Overall performance, snappier than the previous version

fathervince, noypi ka rin pala. hehehe. lagi kita nakikita sa gsmarena dun sa forum ng n82 hehehe. madalas din ako mag-post dun eh.

Anyway, what i loved sa new FW ng N82 is the loudness of the speakers. laki talaga ng difference compared dun sa v.11 n FW. Hopefully sa susunod na update ay kung pwede pang lumakas eh lumakas na siya, pati na rin sana ung backlight since its obvious na may ilalakas pa talaga yun.

Just one question. do you also experience the lag after the Nokia welcome (ung may magkahawak na kamay) there's this lag for about 3 or more seconds wherein yung background lang ng theme ang makikita and no main menu icons whatsoever. I don't consider this a problem since sa pagbukas lang naman siya nangyayari, curious lang ako kung sa inyo ba eh ganon din, oh sakin lang yun nangyayari?

I started out there nga nung december mag post nung nakita ko yung n82, started as one of those people na tanong ng tanong tungkol sa phone. 'Till i got this baby (n82, hehe) last february lang. yun from then on i fell in love with this thing hahaha...:yipee:

yup! mas bumilis talga. but the most noticeable difference is the loudness of the speakers. hehehe

Yep, labas na yung version 20. Actually its, v.20.0.062 on my phone. Hehe. It'll give Great improvements for your phone...

Like geotagging, you can now watch you tube directly on your mobile, etc.

To all N82 owners na hindi pa nag upgrade to V20, do it now guys, u won't regret it, you'll love your phone even better...

i upgraded my friends N82 to this version almost 2 and a half weeks ago, basta nung bagong labas palang siya pinalitan ko na agad, at tama nga observation ko lumakas nga ang speakers, pero hindi ma-notice ng friend ko (nasanay sa N95 ko hehe). At what i like in this firmware update is that you don't even need to backup your files, may feature siya na masesave lahat ng previous apps mo and files eh, unlike my N95 when i upgraded to V20 to V21 ininstall ko pa ulit lahat ng apps hmpf!!!! its unfair hehe

true. hehehe. nag back up din ako pero nung nagrestart na siya with its new firmware eh nagulat ako dahil andun parin lahat ng naka install at mga msgs ko. hehehe

That feature is called UDP (User Data Preservation). I think N82 is the only NSeries who has that feature. But still i do backup before upgrading in case magka problema sa process.

you can update your phone using the Nokia Software Updater (it is also compatible to all Nseries and some non- Nseries nokia phones).

Updates are very useful to you and your phone. By updating your n82, you'll get a louder speakers, faster and a lot more responsive menus, geotagging, and flashlite upgrade which lets you watch you tube using your phone just to name a few...

nope as far as i know wala siyang limit. . .refresh mo lang playlist if may nilagay ka na new songs =)

guys a little help. i tried to update my N82 using NOkia Software Updater pero it keeps on popping up Minimum Memory requirement is 256MB and says installation operation failed. :weep: now my memory card has around 1100MB free but my phone memory has only 115MB free of use. does it read the phone mem instead of memory card thats why it cant update?
i'm new here and id be happy for some tricks up yer sleeves :)

valkyrie, ang sinasabi niyang 256MB na minimum memory eh yung sa PC mo. Check mo if you have at least the minimum requirements of the NSU.

Here they are:

-PC with 1GHz or higher Pentium-compatible processor
-At least 256 MB of RAM (memory)
-Windows 2000 (SP4 or later) or Windows XP (SP1 or SP2) or Windows Vista (64-bit, Home and Professional are supported). Other OS versions are untested, but may work)
-Administration rights on the PC while installing
-High-speed internet connection
-Compatible Nokia device with SIM card (and charger if necessary)
-Compatible Nokia USB connection cable
-Compatible USB port on your PC

try sa mga nokia care center, in other countries they do it for free. Hindi ko lang alam dito sa atin. It won't hurt to ask naman diba... hehehe:)

Nokia Service Center will do the upgrading of your phone for FREE as long as your phone is still within the warranty period. They'll charge Php500 for out of warranty units.

NOT on our N82. N82 has a feature called UDP (User Data Preservation). That means when you're upgrading your phone's firmware to the latest version using NSU (Nokia Software Updater), all data's will be preserve (contacts, messages, notes, calendar, settings & etc) and you don't have to reinstall all your applications again coz they're all intact after the process.

But still, it is safer to backup your phone first before doing an upgrade.

-yung sakin mabilis naman kapag nagsusulat ng massage (mabilisan pa un, hehe) at kapag nagbobrowse ng message (i.e. kapag nag switch from one message to the another).

Nararanasa ko yung pagbagal kapag mga nasa 1,500++ na yung messages sa inbox ko, yung tipong kapag lilipat ka sa kabilang message eh it takes more than 10seconds at kapag nagsusulat ka ng text message eh parang ginagawa mo yung sa isang nag-ha-hang na PC. So I recommend na delete your inbox messages once in a while, and keep the messages that seems important sa my folders mo (using custom made folders). At tsaka, nabasa ko sa isang site na mas mabilis daw ang pagbukas ng messages kapag naka "phone memory" ang gamit mo in storing your messages, compared to "memory card".

Guys i purchased 8GB microSDHC from playstation3_user, a member of tipidcp.com and it works fine on my N82. Speed is awesome, parang gumamit ka lang ng 2GB.

are you sure na pdf file yung sinusubukan mong buksan? yung pdf file kasi ng nokia pc suite (yung user's manual) nun it works naman using the adobe pdf that's installed on my phone

I can't send any messages using my phone! Tapos kapag nag failed na siya eto nalabas:

General: Memory full. Close some applications and try again.

ANong gagawin ko? I erased everything on my inbox, sent items, etc. I also cleared the cache of my web browsers and the Log history of my phone. Wala namang naka open na ibang apps at 97MB pa ang free memory ng phone! Pls help.

it happens sa inbox ko lagi. so what i do is i press back when i am reading a text message and then di ba it goes back sa Inbox where u can see the text messages and who it came from. then to delete the message, press C instead of Options to delete. If ayaw, close any open applications (in my case Ownskin). you can restart the phone and try it again if it doesnt the first time.
btw, yeah pdf ung files kasi i read it nga sa puter. hehehe still figuring it out :p
