i kinda noticed na PSP lang ang meron sa Symbianize, so i decided to make this thread since i'm an NDS player myself.

Im playing Pokemon Pearl and Animal Crossing right now, so i'll be looking for players of those too. Im also working on getting other games as well, such as Mario Kart DS (huge online player base).

2 ways:

1. slap a gba cart sa slot2, which is fairly obvious.

2. slap a flash cart sa slot2. which means your flash cart has to be the slot2 type.

sorry, as of yet, there's absolutely no way to run gba games from slot1 flash carts. i myself would like to play a few gba games, but my flash cart is edge, a slot1 type.

oh and, just for the sake of clarity, slot1 is the DS cart's slot, while slot2 is the GBA slot.


@JENG: usually you just need to slap your microSD to your PC (it's all a matter of preference as to how), and you just copy paste the .nds file (that's the game rom. extract it if you have to) anywhere in your microSD (although putting them in folders do wonders. not sure if some brands require them to be in a certain folder, but i'm pretty sure most dont).

as a side note, i'm currently enjoying these games right now:

Mario Party (I LOVE PARTY GAMES!!! especially with booze!)
Mario Kart (it's cute, but if you've played online, very very challenging!)
Rune Factory (always been a Harvest Moon fan)
Dementium (for late night gaming...)
Settlers (it's just like an ant farm. except maybe a bit smarter)

Had Pokemon Pearl, but so far it's been on the backburner since i got my flash cart (those expensive EDGE brands).

not sure eh. look around the malls, they're generally not that high na, and most are already bundled. kung may budget sya pang PSP, can afford n nya DS, which is a bit cheaper.

NDS lite sana balak ko bilhin eh kaso my nag offer sakin ng PSP na mas mura kaya yun na lang binili ko. Nga pala yung EDGE I think nasa 1.5k-2k lang sa GoGadgets. my kasama na yata 1gb or 2gb na micro SD un.

DS uses the touchscreen... DS emulator uses the mouse to touch the screen. so parang wala pang emulator para sa mga phones like 6600. hehe

if you got a really nice flash cart (say, a cycloDS or EDGE, or one of thos Acekards), you can do a LOT, especially with a monster microSD if SHDC is supported (EDGE does, i'm on 8gb :D). You can play media, you can even play movies (albeit, not too crispy, but good enough). you'll need a good headset though, or portable speakers, since the DS' audio isn't quite as i'd like it to be.

of course, don't expect it to beat the PSP's sheer power--the DS just doesnt have the hardware. but try a few DS exclusives, you'll be surprised how fun a "girly" cooking game can be. :)

meyron akong emulator for the nes and snes sa ds ko kaya i can still play all those nintendo classics. all those childhood memories *reminisce* the DS can do a lot of stuff, music, movies, homebrews pretty easily and that's what i like about it.

..grab the ds its a lot cheaper (though i dont have one, pc emulator lang gamet ku)...and there are flash carts available at local supermalls...

basically, any of the following flashcarts are good. chinese brands (except Supercard, i think that's chinese, and EDGE) are a big NO-NO, unless gusto nyong maging paperweight and DSlite nyo.
*Supercard Brands (Slot1 or 2 works fine, but slot2 usually have RAM--very useful for DSlinux or DSQuake)
*Acekard
*DSTT

i don't recommend the spring loaded types. it's so easy to mess the spring up and ruin the card (the microSD won't bite, which means very unstable contacts)

ask ko lang po kung marunong kayo magburn ng any nintendo handheld games sa flash cartrige kasi im planning on my homebrew game and i want to play it using my gameboy or even NDS... sorry if off topic..

usually it's just extract and copy paste anywhere you like it. salpak sa PC, copy paste, salpak sa DS, play.

SDHC support means you practically have a hard drive with about 8gb (if you can get your grubby hands on one). warning though, kung gagamit kayo ng high capacity cards sa kahit anong brand na SDHC compatible, make sure you use the really high-end ones, or else hindi makakahabol ang access speed ng card sa required ng DS or ng flash cart. cards below 2gb usually don't experience any lag or freezes.

haha guys may problem aq sa ds ko ung screen niya sa taas pumanget ung kulay.. pero pag tinitilt ko xa umaayos sa kulay nagiging green nga ehh tpos bumabalik sa dati..ngaun d ko na maayos.. kakainis ang panget ng kulay..may crack nga pala ung sa upper screen sa ilalim sa malapit sa power light..

dun sa nagtatanong, R4 works well enough, but the constant firmware updates kills it for me. i'd recommend any Supercard model, then maybe CycloDS/EDGE, then DSTT, then maybe R4.

playing NDS is quite amusing.. however sana ms magndang games ang mgawa eh.. Pokemon games havent changed a bit( although may konti) but the game play seems to be like the other pokemon games.. hope they would have new ideas for pokemon :pray:

Pokemon doesn't change, because there's really nothing wrong with it. the only real changes are more like additional features. as for the new ideas, there are the spin-offs, but only the Ranger series are good enough for me (the others are too shallow, maybe for younger gamers).
whatever gameplay the series has worked for it in the past, so i don't see any reason why it should be changed. heck, it's got enough fan base worldwide to merit an official tournament for it, much like the Cybergames.

@sersi: rocksoftonline has a contact number listed somewhere in their site. given a large enough order (say, around 2k? maybe even less) they're willing to meet within the metro (but not really anywhere). but hey, people can compromise.
