i work for a call center.

bottomline is: kung sahod lang ang habol mo... go ahead work for a call center (Convergys, Ambergris, Sykes, 24/7) kahit papano they are the few centers that i know na malaki laki ang salary

for personal development... ok lang din mag work for a call center. speaking in english 1/3 of the time (a day) makes you fluent in the language at nakaka develop sya ng communication skills.
pero if you want to have a normal lifestyle.. hahahaha make sure na dayshift ang makuha mo.. coz pag nag night shift ka, say goodbye to your friends. one upside of working nightshift is that you dont encounter heavy traffic na. ako spoiled na spoiled ako eh... hindi ako nakakaranas ng traffic.


sa lahat naman ng propesyon/trabaho/kumpanya, mayroong pulitika, pag hihirap, etc. kanya kanyang coping mechanism na lang at diskarte.

That's right. I also work for a call centre at di ito tulad ng ibang opisina na nasa bahay ka na eh tatawagan ka pa pag may problema.

Yun nga lang, may health risks din.

Laging puyat. Pero puwede namang bumawi sa tulog, and i take vitamins too.

I too work for a call center.
These days, to be honest the pay is a lot more rewarding from most of the other jobs you can get if not rewarding it can at least meet most of the bills you need to pay. But for sure you have to be ready to deal with the different shifts you may have to work specially night shift. pero, if you have the discipline naman to sleep when you have to, less drinking/smoking or whatever bisyo then you can let your body adjust to it. minsan hirap kasi puyat na grabe pa kung gumimik kahit di kaya ng katawan... everything in moderation as they say.

True about the politics it is there no matter where you work.

One thing i really like is you never bring home work. you leave work at the workplace. I used to teach so this is a big deal for me I have a life during my offs and it's more than checking papers!!!:yipee:

me am a super visor in a call center here in Laguna and sometimes sa makati. Hmm well okies lang naman mag work sa call center as long as you know your limitations. Sometimes call center SHIFT lalo na pag sa NIGHT SHIFT. Our body is not that adjusted sa time yet if we will HAVE proper discipline and enoughh sleep well we will really benefit from working in a call center.

Consider working sa call center kung naka linya pa din sa course mo.para magamit mo ung pinaghirapan mo ng 4 or 5 years nung kolehiyo..

Papasa ka naman ata eh, ayaw lang ng parent/s mo. Sa min kase may grammar, diction, vocab exam, oo yung hearing test tapos yung simulation. speed test din. Sa hearing test...basta pakinggan mo lang ng mabuti yung sinasabi sa call, totoo were not accustomed to foreign speakers pero masasanay din tenga mo. Mahirap intindihin yung mga speakers na arab...naku pamatay talaga.:nakupo:

Usu. kaya di mo maintindhan yang mga northern european na yan e mas magaling pa mga gred wan natin mag english ksa sa knila.

Yun yung simulation na tinatawag. hindi note yun ...may ppkita sayong website sa computer tapos you need to learn about it..then someone will call and inquire tapos subukan mo siyang bentahan..they just want to see if youre confident or has convincing power to promote your product.

I, too, work in a call center. I've been with this company for almost 3 years now. Started out as an agent. Got sick and tired taking in calls for 1 year and applied for another position. I strongly agree that if you're after the money then call center it is. But if you want big bucks and a normal life...tough luck!

Para kang pamangkin ko, gusto daw niyang maging supervisor chuva!!!ahahahahahaha:lol:

wahhh... ako i worked lately in a callcenter coz wla d2 masyado programming firms (FYI: i'm an management information system graduate) sa bacolod and plus dapat top notch ang programming skills if ever you get one.

anyways, good yung callcenter for young people like us who can tolerate graveyard shift and those who have good health.... pero definitely health is a great risk sa mga callcenters coz super puyatan, too much eating becoz of stress and to those who can't tolerate, impatient handling stupid customers.. and Office politics.. which is very common in almost all jobs.

advantage, well as what other forumers said, much bigger yng starting pay compared mo in other common works like govt offices, banks, dept stores... and not so much yung requirements, as long as you can converse in a proper way in English (you dont have to be the best), and u have basic computer skills, solve kana.... kahit undergrad ka OK lng in some callcenters.... unlike yung iba dami requirements dapat graduate ka of this and those.. top notch ka in one field, or other way too high requirements...it helps ur english speaking skills. which is really a requirement in every jobs we applied for.

Also, if you have great performance, bilis yung promotion mo.. in less than a year u can get as much as 20+k/month here in bacolod.. Plus so many openings in different positions.. many choices in your career path.... kaya lng dapat marunong ka mag handle ng calls plus dami statistics to maintain.. AHT, FCR and all those sh^t... hehe..

plus dami ka makikilala. new friends, new acquaintances..... and with having new friends and acquaintances = Party! party! Party! hehehe...

mag-clusivol na lng kau.. agimat sa sakit!! ahaha..

ay sayang sir, undergrad ako ng computer engineering eh 2 yrs lng puro basic pa. wala pa ako sa proper. pero marami na din ako alam sa pc. 2yrs na ko working as tier3 sa verizon

jayem, may mga opening sa undergrad ng com eng but hindi sa division namin. Usual engineering course ang nakakapasok dito eh mga ME, ECE, EE kse nga highly technical yung account and hindi computer related. Mga industrial equipments ang sinusupport namin...

once mag work ka sa callcenter, medyo mahihirapan ka na rin umalis because of the pay. If you work in a call center, and you stayed for 2 yrs, you might be earning 30K+ already. Medyo mahirap humanap ng work na same level ng salary nya. Unless willing ka magsacrifice ng pay just to transfer to a regular office job...

^Mainit din ulo ko..joke..hehe minsan affected talaga kung uber sungit yung kausap mo. Kaya kung may kailangan ka ...wag magmasungit..we would appreciate more kung maayos kang makiusap. di naman sa ayaw ko sa call center.. sila kasi ang ayaw sa akin hahaha. my brothers, my friends they all work sa call center. and parang ako nasa call center na din kasi sa dami ng mga naririnig ko sa kanila kilala ko na ang mga supervisors nila etc etc. ayun okay naman daw kaso sanayan nga lang din. mga lagi nga lang silang parang bangag kasi sa work sched nila. pero tama kayo jan at least di kagaya ko na on call sa work lalo na pag may pinapa develop ang boss ko. kung minsan nga inggit din ako sa kanila kasi matataas sahod nila. :)

I dont think dapat ikahiya ang pagwork sa call center lalo kung ginagawa mo ng maayos ang trabaho mo, at maayos ang pagtrato mo sa mga nakakausap mong customer or consumers sa phone.

Ano bang mas nakakahiya? ang magwork sa callcenter or:

umasa sa magulang para mabuhay
magnakaw ng pera ng iba
or tumambay at wag magwork?

marami ngang unemployed ngayon.. blessed na nga ang mga may work that they have a job. call center pa, eh, okay ang compensation, at isa yung marangal na trabaho (di ka naman nagnanakaw or what.. that (being a csr/tsr/working in a call center) is a job).
so I think, walang dapat na ikahiya sa job na yun. okay nga rin yun kasi naeenhance din yung communication skills (English language) ^__^

One is peoplesupport, where i am at.

Kaya lang di kalakihan sueldo rito..unlike with other BPO companies....

but they treat employees fairly as much as possible.

Kagaya sa amin, we have a health insurance amounting to 500K for the employee, covered ang family up to three dependents, 250k for each.

^that depends on the company you will work for.

Dito sa ps, walang bond. and you will also have the chance to get regularized..basta lagi ka lang pumasok, at pagbutihin mong stats mo.

dito sa min advantage ang may bachelor's degree.

salary is usually similar to other bpo's, lalo kung first timer ka...but it will increase later kung maganda ang stats mo.
