ano pa pinag kaiba nung hardware nila?
they both running with intel and nvidia, ati right?
os lang pinagkaiba ng dalawa.
so why they are selling it x2 with the price compare to pc?

Mac should sold their os separately compatible with pc environment like windows its compatible to any machine!.

PC (Windows) or Mac(ios)

Para sakin PC+Windows kasi mas friendly sya sa mga developers like me.
I prepare PC(Linux) mahal kasi yun mac.. kaya pc with Linux inside para mas secure.

imovie - openshot
ichat - skype
quicktime - vlc
Itunes - Amarok or Rhytmbox compatible with ipod

i preferred pc

PC is KING! Parang may sariling mundo kasi eh.
Haha!

Wala namang PERFECT Operating System. May sari-sarili silang advantages at disadvantages... But a decision has to be made... PC parin ako. :)

yup tama nobody is perfect may kanya kanyang kahina at kalakasan ang bawat os.

Linux-based OS ako! pag walang pera, Linux-based OS!

hahaha, BTW kaya lang naman M$ Window$ ang maraming games kasi karamihan ng mga games ay commercial - apps (paid apps) so ang choice ng mga developers ay don sa maraming market shares which is Window$. Pero kung ang mga developer ay nag care naman sa mga OS na may mga maliliit na market shares, for example linux-based OS, they should run extremely native on that OS, and maybe the game can perform better ,example that run natively on Linux-based OS and also on MAC OSX is Heroes of Newerth.

Software wise> MAC ako.
Very user friendly ang MAC.
Madali mag connect sa network esp wireless compared sa Windows.
Maganda design and straight to the point mga menus.
Maganda mga APPS.
Wala or Haloas Walang virus.

cons. HARDWARE SUCKS and FREAKING EXPENSIVE.:slap:

Hardware wise> PC ako.
Make your own depending on your needs and budget.
A vast sea of softwares to choose from.
Very common and mas kabisado ng marami.

cons. Virus, spyware, security ekek.. kaya kaylanga ng anti virus,:upset: anti spyware, anti ekek running in the background and might eat up resources.

All in all i want to have both... :yipee:

:) In terms of ano po ba ang poll?

Usapang hardware?
Usapang software?
Operating System?
Combined?
Pricing?
Upgradability?
etc.

May PC+Linux din, PC+Mac din (a.k.a. Hackintosh...using non-pirated ha).

For "per-user" based needs: since you mentioned you are a software developer, for those na gustong makatipid, we can go for Linux (kung software development ang linya ng user). Yung mga hardware enthusiasts and extreme gamers, most of them will answer "PC"...etc.

Correct. That's because Apple's Operating System is also based in UNIX (just as Linux is UNIX-like, as well as Android's Operating System). Hence my question to the thread starter, kung alin talaga ang gusto niyang i-compare (hardware lang? software lang? etc.).

This is fun....

I've Tried it and well not that impressive kasi mababa ang specs ng PC ko.pero kung sundin mo yung recommended na specs which is halos katumbas lang ng requirements ng window 7...Medyo ok na rin siguro yon.

take note my firstpost:PC (Windows) or Mac(ios) <--not (ios) (macos)

hardware
software
System
Pricing
etc.

if i know you can't install mac os on a pc even original yung copy.
EULA (End User License Agreement) prohibits from installing OS X on non-Apple LABELED hardware. yung aka Hackintosh.:) its possible but illegal.:)

if you READ in my first post in this thread.

no other os mentioned.

I did read the first post, that's why I asked for clarification...my initial was prior to your clarification. :) In any case, reason I mentioned another OS was:

1. To help/provide insights and alternatives.
2. To highlight that PC (as a hardware) is more flexible/offers more alternatives.
3. Some poll starters may have certain desired responses in mind based on little details, so I prefer not to assume and rather ask for clarification first.

Hmn lahat my friend..
take note my firstpost:PC (Windows) or Mac(ios) <--not (ios) (macos)

EULA (End User License Agreement) prohibits from installing OS X on non-Apple LABELED hardware. yung aka Hackintosh.:) its possible but illegal.:)

Yup, I'm aware of EULA. "Ability" (possibility) is different from legality, though it wasn't specified that's why other members also mentioned using "Hackintosh" even prior to my post. However, the reality is that not a lot of computer ("PC") owners also own an original copy of Windows anyway hence, we can save the EULA discussion for some other time. :) Unless of course, it was specified that only the usage of licensed software in the poll is to be considered (both for PC+Microsoft Windows vs. Apple+Mac OS).

As for my vote...well honestly I would not choose any of the two. But given those are the only choices (and based on your clarification that "all" factors will be considered to include pricing), it would be a PC+Microsoft Windows. Assuming both can be "equal" at the end in terms of performance, versatility, software availability/variety, user-friendliness, "future-proofing" (a.k.a. "upgradability") etc., a "PC+Windows" combo will have an edge due to flexibility in pricing and packaging. This is due to the reason that Microsoft Windows can be sold as OEM (a.k.a. bundled with pretty much any computer hardware system), or even sold as Retail (not bundled with hardware) mainly due to budget of end-users. And since computers ("PC") can either be "branded" or "assembled", it will cater not only to software users but also to hardware enthusiasts. Hence, it will cater to a wider consumer base.

Now if we will not consider "all" factors, then probably it will change. Apple is a good product too, but at this time it is not in a price range that a lot of people will pursue. Apple is selling as a "branded" product (just like some other "PC" hardware). Typically there is a challenge to upgrading for most end-users/consumers who go for branded products when it comes to computers, which is why there is still a huge percentage of consumers who assemble their own, aside from of course, hardware enthusiasts.

I'll choose Mac. Although a bit pricey, I think it still have the best hardware specs and the most advanced operating system that justifies the price. And with its BootCamp feature, you can still enjoy the full Windows 7 environment (legally). In terms of familiarity and ease of use, I admit that the Mac experience will be a bit hard. Pero lahat naman nakakasanayan. I'm sure meron at meron ding nahirapan sa paga-adjust from XP to Vista/7 with its new and cool features like Aero. At mag-aadjust na naman for Windows 8.
In the end, nasa preferences padin yan ng user and his/her ability to cope up with this adjustments.

BTW, Im a PC (Windows 7) user :)

Yes sir topet2k12001 i understand your point. i mentioned and clearly states:PC (Windows) or Mac(macos) from the very first start.:) i dint mention any "ability" and to cross each borders but there's 99.9% of possibility that it is possible. But fell free to state your ideas regarding this matter.:)

i know and I'm aware there are many factor's to consider that's why i made this poll to evaluate the strengths and Weaknesses of each compared party as a whole and based on opinion, experience, etc. We won't limit ourselves in a specific area cause it wont be ideal to compare two party's.

And of course we can state freely our ideas of unlimited possibilities mashing up machines and operating systems.

I hope i made a point.:)

you can get it for free without using a Mac Osx.. and may example is Linux.. kahit sa advance desktop effects lamang ang Linux sa 2 os watch this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VvfRpmqKRbs..

MAC!

Kasi sobrang bilis ng start up!

Aww I can't vote.

PC+Windows

Syempre madami na nasanay dito. At para sa gamers, mas gamitin to kasi very customizable ang hardware (if you know what I mean). For Photo editing, okay narin sya, depende nalang tlga sa specs ng hardware mo. Same with video and audio editing.

Kaya kelangan mo ng anti spyware, anti virus w/c will eat up more resources (running on background).

Pero nasa gumagamit lang talaga yun.
(PC+Windows user here haha)

Pero from my own experience, nasubukan kong gumamit ng Mac (that was iMac, ung prang monitor lang xa haha). Ang masasabi ko eh, maganda. Maganda sya gamitin for photo/video editting.

PC and Mac now uses Intel processors, so medyo halos pareho na sila (sa price lang talaga nag kaiba XD)

Ako both din, kakainis kasi pag biglang nag "Blue Screen of Death" pc mo.

Kapag games - Windows ako

Internet and serious office stuff - Mac OSx (very stable kasi)

I've installed both on my Compaq V6000 laptop - ok naman sila na mag co-exist sa 1 hdd

eh pano kung pc but you have both os? you have the best of both worlds diba? but be sure to have a hardware the is stable enough to run osx...hehehe for price and flexibility i vote for pc...hahahahaha napapansin niyo sa apple? pinipili lng nila ung mga hardwares that was built first for pc...kagaya nlng ng mga vidcards nila pili lng ung mac edition cards like 5870 and they priced it twice as compared to pc editions....but if i have the moolah to spend i'll try mac...hehehe

basta sakin, swabe, masarap, thinking and trying of something new. OS X Lion pa na mabilis at stable.

MAC ako. (MacBook Pro 2011 user here :yipee:)

Why not practical? Windows is for the peace of mind but mac is for your eyes and pride.

Depende sa Tao yan
If gusto mo ng more stylish MAC ka

pc user before pero nag mac ako ngayon. ."I VOTE FOR MAC"..hehe. . .

but im enjoy using my mac book...
