(you must select "phone mode" not "file transfer" for you to work on My Phone Explorer)

NOTE: Don’t use SEUS now on! SEUS will update phone to CID53 and XS++ can’t work on it anymore.

Backup of GDFS!
GDFS Backup IS MUST!!! VERY IMPORTANT !!
Here's how to back-up GDFS? (http://www.symbianize.com/showthread.php?t=18705&highlight=k550)

The GDFS contains the calibration data of your phone. Your phone won’t work if the GDFS is damaged. A defective GDFS is hard to fix, therefore you should ALWAYS backup the GDFS of your phone before you do anything else.

Flashing The Main and FS

Now the real flashing

-Turn off your phone.
-Start XS++.
-Select USB
-Reinsert battery.
-Click "Connect" in XS++
-Hold the "C" while you connect your phone to the USB cable (within 30 sec.)
-When it gets detected release the "C" key
-The left screen will display your phone details including your firmware version

EROM CID should be CID52. OTP CID should be 51 or 52. (Your Phone Must satisfy this condition for flashing)

-Click ‘...’ button, select the firmware file W610_R6BC002_MAIN_GENERIC_LA_RED52.mbn
-Check FS option and select appropriate FS from your downloaded files.

http://i29.tinypic.com/3585rx1.png
Shown in the picture are w660 firmwares, you must use w610i firmwares.

-Hit the "Flash" button and relax
_It will show "Finished" after loading.
-When done, Exit XS++
-Disconnect phone

Don’t even dare to start your phone, we are not done yet.
Customization is MUST
Cent_Europe_FS has the following languages.. EN CS HU PL and SK (EN is english and so on)

Customization

-Connect phone in XS++ (usual process)
-Unzip the customization pack
-You will find a folder named “tpa” in it
-In XS++ directory (where you have xs++.exe) create a new folder named “own_custpack”
-Copy the “tpa” folder into this “own_custpack” folder the path of custom files should be like own_custpack/tpa/preset/custom
-Now in XS++ check only "customize file system"
-Under phone model select ‘Own Custpack’
-Under CDA and Region, select ‘/own_custpack’
-Hit Flash…

in few seconds custom files will be added to your phone and your done!
you can NOW START YOUR PHONE!

INFORMATION:

You Can Flash Only "Main" and be on the k550i FS. This Good for people who are unable to find FS for their Region and Language. Or to some who don’t know how to add languages to FS.

By Flashing Main You get everything. Just that you must then separately flash skins and flash menu and nothing else. Because FS contains only Media Contents Acoustics Drivers etc.. which is same for both phones. w610i FS has different ringtones and wallpapers, that’s all no any other difference at all. If you flashed only main then your phone says k550i in phone status but you flash w610i then its always identified as w610i.

But XS++ will always identify your phone as k550i because every phone has unique IMEI number. Even SEUS will identify your phone as k550i because they know very well what IMEI number is what phone.

Basic tutorial ends here. Hacking and modding begins now.

Flash using own_custpack Method

Camera Drivers:

Most High Quality (MHQ) by sonarrik510 of Esato
1) Changing in a compression system of JPEG for less compresion and better quality:
- Maximal percent of quality in both levels of compression - 95%.
- Changing in quantization table for less lost data on the image.
- Approx. sizes in a SuperFine compression: 700-900kb.
- Approx. sizes in a Fine compression: 450-550kb.
- Balance buffer - 930kb, don't conflict with HEAP-ram of phone and don't exit from the camera.

Notice: For human eye both levels of compression may be a similar.

2) Changing in AutoFocus modes:
- Fix "Infinity" focus in all scenes.
- Fix Macro (minimal length ~7cm)
- Less focusing errors.

Notice: Keep in mind, focus error maybe if:
-You try to shoot at poorly envinroment.
-Object of shooting is fast-motion.
-Objects of shooting is very contrastive. For better focusing use Spot Photometry (Photometry -> Spot), and focusing on necessary object.
If you have bad images at Infinity focus - use other version of S1 (from ois1 folder) or use AutoFocus.

3) Fixes and new scenes:
- Fixing in all scenes for better and clearer image.
- Night Portrait - changed to "Night Mode", it is intended for shooting in twilight or at night. Because of long endurance try to hold the camera motionlessly or establish it on a steady surface. Shutter speed is 1/2 sec. Less values of sharpness and contrast.
- Snow/Beach - changed to "Тext", use it for shooting a documents. Increase in contrast & sharpness, reduce color saturation.
- Portrait -changed to "Snow/Beach", use for a pictures in bright envinroments to avoid underexposed images.

4) Changes in White Balance and color saturation
-Good work of Auto WB
-Fixing in a color saturation, for more really colors on photos
-Manual White Balance*.

*How to use Manual White Balance?
Choose "Preset" in menu of white balance (Fluorescent, if you not installed new lng file), turn off camera, point it to white object, and then turn on camera. Now you have a preset of White Balance, it fixes on your white object, when you turn on camera.

5) Videorecord:
-Normal mode - 24FPS contrast, fixing in sharpness and contrast.
-Night mode - 5FPS-10FPS.
-Smooth (but not in Night Mode) 4х digital zoom.

***
Manual ISO

with joypad you can change ISO (just like changing +EV).

Low ISO values (ISO100-200): High ISO settings(ISO200 and above):
-More light needed -Less light needed
-Less noise -Increased noise
-More image detail -Less image detail(especcialy from ISO320 and above)
-Longer shutter speed -Faster shutter speed

EV Equivalent ISO
+0.0EV = ISO Auto
+0.3EV = ISO 100
+0.7EV = ISO 160
+1.0EV = ISO 200
+1.3EV = ISO 250
+1.7EV = ISO 320

Restoration

For your convenience, I have uploaded the K550 MAIN and FS Firmware images for download incase you want to revert the phone back to the k550 firmware. They are not the latest versions, but once they have been flashed, you can use the Sony Ericsson update service to upgrade it to the latest version.

To flash these firmware files, simply follow the same steps above, but instead of selecting "W610_R1KG001_MAIN_GENERIC_NA_RED52.MBN" as the MAIN firmware, select the "K550_R8BA024_MAIN_GENERIC_LI_RED52.MBN" (downloadable below) as the file to use. The same goes for the File System firmware image, instead of selecting "W610_R1KG001_FS_EUROPE_2_RED52.FBN", select "K550_R6BC002_FS_S_E_EUROPE_RED52.FBN" (downloadable below) as the file to use instead.

@ronasanz
as far as i know hindi pa sya supported ng current XS++ 3.1.
sell mo tapos bili kana lang second hand na lady owned basta sa mapagkakatiwalaang seller.
Will update this thread pag supported na ang CID53.

Don’t use SEUS now on! SEUS will update phone to CID53 and XS++ 3.1 can’t work on it anymore.
