First, look for a portrait of your choice. In my case, eto lng nkita ko sa computer dito kaya ito na lng.

And with the Eyedropper,

click somewhere in the photo to select one narrow range of skin tone. Portraits with a lot of shadow usually provide a more satisfying result. In this tut, I selected midtones to emphasize the image.

using Color Range, (Fuzziness = 40, press OK)

Tones that i have selected is represented by marching ants (:D), so this is what it looks like...

Then choose Define Brush Preset (Edit > Define Brush)
http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa274/lordCovenant/7a.jpg
name your new brush preset
Create a new image/layer either the same size or larger than the original. Fill the background with black. Change the foreground color to a light tan (earth tones tends to be more striking for this effect). Create a new layer and select the Brush tool.

You may opt to reduce the opacity of the brush, then simple hold the brush in one spot over the new layer and click the mouse a few times. You will see the faces slowly emerge. Medyo pixilated nga lang, pero yun na yun!! http://i197.photobucket.com/albums/aa274/lordCovenant/final.jpg

Enjoy!!
*can be use for portraits to add drama*
