g_olano 10th Jul '08 Thu, 17:29 im expecting medjo blast ang selling price nito kasi flagship to ngaun ng SE sa line up nila for C series...
for a feature phone mas advanced po toh kesa sa nokia na mga handsets...
clarify ko lang po yung statement ko bka me mag react...this is a feature phone and not smartphone po kaya different category toh to N series ng Nokia.(still i bet SE hehehhhe)
thanks pow :D
Pearlista 12th Jul '08 Sat, 18:02 If only symbian cp yan.. I think, 2-3mp is enough.
g_olano 8th Aug '08 Fri, 14:14 unfortunately hindi cya optical zoom, digital zoom lang cia, and yung lens nito is made by still sony ericsson. As far as SE, they give better quality of pics.
pero this is so cool as feature phone!!! :D
For those who enjoy life, wanted snappy phone and just live it. ito ang bagay sa nyu!! :D

Having high megapixel doesn't automatically mean it's for larger prints. How about zooming and cropping and then printing only the part that you like? Try doing that with a 3MP and see what quality you will get. To each his own I guess.
Admit it or not, a lot of people who end up buying a high-end phone are those who are "inosente" sa capabilities ng cp na binili nila. They will buy an 8mp cam phone thinking na it will magically transform the pictures taken with it. Well it's not and still, no cam phone can beat the pic quality of a dedicated camera. But with wifi and gps, it's still a great cp, though the inclusion of Symbian could have made this the BEST..

They will buy an 8mp cam phone thinking na it will magically transform the pictures taken with it. Well it's not and still, no cam phone can beat the pic quality of a dedicated camera. Since you are talking all about mediocrity, you want as well symbian phone db? Does that bother to average user kung anong OS ng phone nila? i dont think so. so long as it served its purpose that is to call, txt, snap a picture and play music they dont bother especially here sa atin sa pilipinas. everyone likes something and we dont expect that can be offered in a single gadget. we always try to point what's missing on something but never the one it offers. :D
Pearlista 17th Aug '08 Sun, 01:41 I'm not saying na average phone users even bother to know what os their cp has. I'm saying, a device with a lot of potential is lacking Symbian OS. And that's a lot. Most smartphone users, after an os interlude, won't appreciate a cp which has a propriety os in it. As i've said before, once you've experienced Symbian, there's no turning back. Multitasking (i know se java cp's can multitask), open sourced applications, etc are things Symbian users can never give up. As for a cp, it's GREAT. And, btw, does an average user needs an 8mp camera, wifi (what?), hsdpa? You said it yourself, THEY DON'T.. Peace to you..
providehope 17th Aug '08 Sun, 07:48 A freeware app doesn't automatically make it open-sourced. So far I haven't found a symbian app with available source code. In my opinion, SE did a good move for not putting symbian os here (actually its UIQ for se). Symbian is vulnerable to viruses. And most symbian apps that an average user needs has a java counterpart.
Pearlista 17th Aug '08 Sun, 10:28 As far as i know, symbian cp's with OS 9+ are immune from viruses because of the need to sign applications before installing those. As for java apps/games, they're slow and are more prone to bugs than symbian apps/games. But it must be said that java cp's are faster than symbian and wm based cp's.
providehope 17th Aug '08 Sun, 21:07 So why would an average user not want a high res cam and wifi but would want the trouble of signing apps just to run it? It seems to me that taking snapshots with an 8mp cam is easier for a user to do than sign an application.
Pearlista 17th Aug '08 Sun, 21:19 Wait, wait i'm not saying na an average user wants that. I'm just saying that viruses are things of the past in cp's running OS 9+.. As for average users, do they need 8mp?
Pearlista 18th Aug '08 Mon, 09:35 Ganito na lang, I'm not saying na it's a bad cp, albeit it's great, and i know se makes high class cp's (i used an se cp before), though SOME people would be turned off with the lack of an OS..
mickel 18th Aug '08 Mon, 11:17 for those who want to have symbian (s60) in their smartphones, samsung i850 innov8 is up for the competition, it is actually the 1st s60 device to have an 8mp builtin camera and is receiving more positive reviews than SE's.
with the difference between an 8mp sensor compared to those with lower mp, better image quality is noticeable and as expected those pics that are taken with an 8mp are better after cropping and zooming. of course, as of today mobile phone cameras can't beat the quality of the pics taken by digicams but they already have undergone lots of improvements and allow me to say that they are already close and the pics taken by today's mobile phone cameras are already print-worthy compare to those released 2-3years ago and i won't be surprised at all when the time comes that everybody will snap a shot using their camera phones instead of bringing another gadget which is a digicam (I am referring to average digicams, and not the specialized ones for pros :D).
As with the Symbian OS, it also has undergone lots of improvement over OS quality, useability, speed, security feats. etc and so is with phones with no OS... And it all boils down to the end user if he'll choose a phone with an OS or one without.
providehope 18th Aug '08 Mon, 12:29 Just a minor note: Symbian IS proprietary.
g_olano 18th Aug '08 Mon, 13:04 People have different taste and different expectation to every CP brand/manufacturerer. Not all that are packed to one device could led to like to some. Still discretion yun ng consumers. though over the net, they are comparing phones specs and capabilities according to "geek's view" or shall i say in high tech definition. there are lots of levels of consumers from stereotype users to geeks user. Choosing phones comes with aesthetic and most important why it served that more to you. So depende yan sa users. as for the other, one would like OS phones like smbian, one would just like a music phone and soon and so forth. As for me im all good with SE phones. I dont like much of symbian UI. i like also SE since you can MOD it and do whatever ou wanted to do. Now this is my perspective. everyone has. one way or another someone will agree and someone will not because they just prefer something that i dont. I think we just need to respects each others opinion. Just dont bother to whine to others weakness kasi argument lang ang kalalabasan. hehehhe
peace!!! :D
PS: EXPERIA pa din ako.. :D hehhehee
tama nga pala sabi mu providehope!!! :D
Pearlista 18th Aug '08 Mon, 18:28 I must agree to that.. It's all in the preference of the user.. Pasensiya na if i overstepped, i'm a Symbianophyte/Symbian fanatic kasi.. Btw, propriety as in yung ginagamit ng nokia sa s40 at ng se sa mga feature cp's nila..
providehope 18th Aug '08 Mon, 21:52 This is like pc vs mac discussions all over the web. It never ends and only goes round in circles. I'm glad it seems everything's cool now. We each have our point of views and are free to discuss in this forum. That one I agree. One thing I really do not accept is that SE that are not UIQ are usually being categorized as series 40. I mean, how come? Those series categories only belong to nokia. Is there anyone else who notices this or it's just me? Oh well, I'm off topic already. Sorry. Btw, Experia ftw. ;)
Pearlista 18th Aug '08 Mon, 22:25 Not s40 but "feature phones" which focuses on camera, music, web, etc.. What most people hate is too much proprietary on se's part (fast port, memory stick,etc).. Peace kung ot..
g_olano 19th Aug '08 Tue, 16:14 cguro one thing na SE wanted is to sell more of their accessories also. See for walkman line up nila hanggang ngaun they dont include 3.5 mm jack which is universal. yun ang observance ko. They put their own M2 instead SD/micro SD because they are the one who made it and wanted SE users to patronize more of their products. Alam ko me disadvantage ito at advantage. they just prefer na ganun ang stategy nila to the market, hope they just got what they expected in their campaign.
of topic: ngaun top phones manufacturers had agreed that hereon na mga models nila they will use micro usb ports for all the phone plugs, that includes of course nokia, SE, LG, Samsung and Motorola..:D
As for me, i don't mind kasi sa cp ko (N70) proprietary din yung saksakan (usb, headset)..
diego_jigs 21st Aug '08 Thu, 03:14 phone of my dreams..............
waaah mga 30 taw siguro yan!
Pearlista 21st Aug '08 Thu, 05:49 Pag-ipunan mo, hahaha
dagupanice 21st Aug '08 Thu, 05:54 i'll rather have c902..
di kaya yan ng budget ko.. hehe..
pero i think i'll buy that on christmas..
a special gift for someone..
g_olano 27th Aug '08 Wed, 18:42 actually yung sa europe at us big deal sa kanila ang 3.5 mm jack pero sa akin no big deal yun. neweiz phone comes with good earphone already so why you need to use and buy another headset? and to think na ang walkman phone already has 3.5mm jack junction sa headset mismu. they were just taking a fuZz cguro one thing is parang standard na sa kanila yun and every one were having argument lalo na nung nanalo ang w980 as best music phone. hahahha yung nokia di man lang pumasa ni jkahit anong category. neweiz sorry parang off topic na cia but i guess here 3.55mm jack is not that big deal kasi ppl here still use headsets what comes in the box sa kanilang phone well most not all.. ;)
and to think na ang isang phone would not be deviated kung walang internal 3.5mm jack in relation sa feature offerings nito..hehehe
