Gaano kadalas kayong pumetiks?
Here is the definition..
PETIKS. noun. (PEH-teeks).
Definition: [a] Doing nothing or resting when one is supposed to be busy working. [b] Surfing the internet, emailing friends, chatting, updating a blog, or playing computer games during paid work hours--and successfully managing to look busy. [c] Being non-productive to the institution.
Etymology: From the Filipino term "pipitik-pitik"; used when one merely flicks his fingers and wastes time. Through time, the words were eventually picked-up by yuppie coños until it evolved into the more stylish "petiks", which is most commonly heard in sossy call centers where fake accents are rampant.

Signs that you are being PETIKS:
You are checking all of your email accounts and reading every forwarded message.
Your Multiply, Facebook and Friendster accounts are very updated.
You stare blankly at an employee when they ask about their loans, benefits, etc.
You answer, “I’ll have to get back to you on that,” after you are done staring.
You start reading anything you can find on Wikipedia – the history of the handshake, what was Enron, etc.
You look for your house on Google Earth. And on Wikimapia.
Playing Prime Suspect and Zuma has become an addiction. (Uy, sino kaya yan?)
Learn about new on goings at different call centers through forums, i.e. Pinoy Exchange.
Your In Tray has become too full to add any more.
The hours spent on break are longer than those spent in the office.
Find a program that allows you to log in to your YM account (it’s firewalled in the office).
You fall asleep at your desk while reading Wikipedia.
Techniques on how not to be caught when you are being PETIKS:
On your keyboard, press ALT + TAB simultaneously to revert back to your Outlook Inbox – to appear as if you are reading the mail received for the day.
Place your “Things To Do” folder in front of you and skim through the papers.
Pretend you are cleaning out your drawer and rearranging your binder files.
Crease your forehead, frown deeply, rub your chin and glare at the screen. This will give the illusion that you are thinking about something very, very intensely.
Switch off your monitor. QUICKLY.
