Journal

Just today I pulled out my old, pink notebook
that thing which used to be my best friend.
I stopped for a while to have a quick look
of what I've written way back then.

I flipped through the pages of my own past,
reading all those familiar words and phrases.
Those were the days I thought all would last
suddenly realizing that there's a lot of changes.

I smiled when I read about the good days
and all the things that gave me pure happiness.
But my eyes watered as I pondered why
more pages held memories of undefined sadness.

Why does everything seem so new?
Time has gone but the feelings are still there.
How could my old writings make me feel so blue?
I should live today and pretend that I don't care.

Yesterday is but another vague dream.
