View Full Version : 5 Reasons Why GOD Uses Problems (Its Time for Us to Reflect for A Meantime)
rentao_15 10th Jul 2007 Tue, 23:43  5 Reasons Why GOD Uses Problems
The problems you face will either defeat you or develop you - depending on how you respond to them. Unfortunately, most people fail to see how God wants to use problems for good in their lives. They react foolishly and resent their problems rather than pausing to consider what benefit they might bring. Here are five ways God wants to use the problems in your life:
1. God uses problems to DIRECT you.
Sometimes God must light a fire under you to get
you moving. Problems often point us in a new direction and
motivate us to change. Is God trying to get your attention?
"Sometimes it takes a painful situation to make us change our ways."
Proverbs 20:30
2. God uses problems to INSPECT you.
People are like tea bags...if you want to know what's inside
them, just drop them into hot ever water! Has God tested
your faith with a problem What do problems reveal about
you?
"When you have many kinds of troubles, you should be full of joy, because you know that these troubles test your faith, and this will give you patience."
James 1:2-3
3. God uses problems to CORRECT you.
Some lessons we learn only through pain and failure. It's
likely that as a child your parents told you not to touch a
hot stove. But you probably learned by being burned.
Sometimes we only learn the value of something...health,
money, a relationship... by losing it.
"It was the best thing that could have happened to me, for it taught me to pay attention to your laws."
Psalm 119:71-72
4. God uses problems to PROTECT you.
A problem can be a blessing in disguise if it prevents you from
being harmed by something more serious. Last year a friend
was fired for refusing to do something unethical that his boss
had asked him to do. His unemployment was a problem - but
it saved him from being convicted and sent to prison a year
later when management's actions were eventually discovered.
"You intended to harm me, but God intended it for good...
Genesis 50:20
5. God uses problems to PERFECT you.
Problems, when responded to correctly, are character builders.
God is far more interested in your character than your comfort.
Your relationship to God and your character are the only two
things you're going to take with you into eternity.
"We can rejoice when we run into problems... they help us learn to be patient. And patience develops strength of character in us and helps us trust God more each time we use it until finally our hope and faith are strong and steady."
-Romans 5:3-4
Here's the point:
God is at work in your life - even when you do not recognize it or understand it.
But it's much easier and profitable when you cooperate with Him.
"Success can be measured not only in achievements, but in lessons learned, lives touched and moments shared along the way"
LIFE IS AN ECHO. What you send out, you get back.
What you give, you receive.
WHEN YOU BRING OUT THE BEST IN OTHERS, YOU BRING OUT THE BEST IN YOURSELF.

ginuzence 25th Feb 2013 Mon, 12:09 what about natural calamities? earthquakes and tsunamis.
the last major tsunami killed hundreds of thousands.
is that a problem created by god to develop us?
Do we react foolish thats why so many innocent lives lost that day?
hackerz14 25th Feb 2013 Mon, 12:23 Man on the other hand is systematically destroying the environment and attributing this natural disasters as an act of God's cruel hoax of punishing the people... in fact man have played the hoax on themselves and it is their ways which are cruel ..
ronell10 25th Feb 2013 Mon, 12:54 why god need to test his creation if he already know the result? remember, he is an all-knowing god

what about innocent people who dont contribute to ecological problems? why did those people die also? is that how god test us? if one did a bad thing then many must perish?
if god love us. why kill innocent people? if its the fault of sinful people, why not save the innocent once?
and wait a minuite....
what did people do that triggers the sumatra tsunami?
pollution?sins of bad people combined that become an explosion of energy underground?
I think that earthquake is no ones fault. wait..... is that a test also?

Just one scenario:
Christianity is now one of the two most widely practised religions in Africa and is the largest religion in Sub-Saharan Africa.
So this is the reason why these African children are suffering? The five reasons you gave?
Napakasama naman ng god mo...
While some countries that don't adhere to religious beliefs that much, people are living in exact opposite of those in Africa...

All physical life are functioning in accordance with the natural laws... they are consequences and results from the natural application of the laws which is a natural outcome.. what seems to be look like a punishment to you or bad luck are simply natural laws asserting itself...
monski1122 25th Feb 2013 Mon, 15:40 Salute, Agree. survivor me from the point na mawala na din ako. (Accident) pero God is with a PURPOSE kung bakit tayo nandito pa at still alive. So be yourself and be humble enough and help, share your knowledge and wisdoms to the needy. :praise:
ginuzence 25th Feb 2013 Mon, 15:47 All physical life are functioning in accordance with the natural laws... they are consequences and results from the natural application of the laws which is a natural outcome.. what seems to be look like a punishment to you or bad luck are simply natural laws asserting itself...
Well it seems that you know how to identify if the problem is our fault or natures fault.
How do we know if god created that problem to tech us something?
How do we respond accordingly?
Do we need to assume which is which?
luciferhalfangel 25th Feb 2013 Mon, 17:54 All physical life are functioning in accordance with the natural laws... they are consequences and results from the natural application of the laws which is a natural outcome.. what seems to be look like a punishment to you or bad luck are simply natural laws asserting itself...
natural laws with natural outcome .like badluck, misery, famine, earthquake, avanlance, typhoon ,hurecane, twister,

in your reality siguro maganda... :D
wenk paanu mo nasiguro na natutuwa sya?
rudel777 25th Feb 2013 Mon, 21:13 you have a good point pals tama ka:salute:

Events are neutral things neither good or bad and God have nothing to do to stop them because to do so would be to thwart our freewill...
Only our reactions to events will make us miserable..
Plato once said that It is neither good or bad but our thinking make it so.. ;)
rudel777 25th Feb 2013 Mon, 21:43 you have a good point pals tama ka:salute:
luciferhalfangel 25th Feb 2013 Mon, 21:57 in your reality siguro maganda... :D
So kapag meron natural disaster Diyos ang sisihin mo? Why blame a being that you don't believe to exist.. :D
A true God is a God without needs and require nothing... If you believe in a God who needs attention, has a hurt feelings and punishes those who do not follow his will then you choose to believe in a smaller God and a lesser God.. How come freewill is free if it is not your will but someone else will must be done? There's no free will if to exercise it will produce punishment and that's would make mockery of freewill and render it counterfeit.
sheince89711 25th Feb 2013 Mon, 23:12 One thing i can say, PLEASE JUST DON`T DOUBT HIM. :weep: Enough of this. No man can really identify, in a precise way the every purpose that you all mention about God`s way of ruling this world. . Remember GOD IS SUPERIOR, walang taong nakaka alam kung ano takbo ng plano ni God para saten, Lets just Continue to Believe in his existence, love, protection, graces, he is providing to us in each day specially sa life na pinagkatiwala saten. Wala man akong masyadong alam sa mga ganitong bagay2 pero nasisiguro ko God Loves us that he even gave his Only Son Jesus Christ to save us from all sins hehehe dba po? God Bless. :)
ginuzence 25th Feb 2013 Mon, 23:59 Events are neutral things neither good or bad and God have nothing to do to stop them because to do so would be to thwart our freewill...
Only our reactions to events will make us miserable..
Plato once said that It is neither good or bad but our thinking make it so.. ;)
again, how can we identify if that problem was given by God?
because if I cant identify which is which, then maybe its just nature teaching me something, not God.
and if events are neural things then you're saying that god has nothing to do with it? What about god giving us problems to teach us something as you said earlier?
Can you give me an example of god giving us problems to teach us something?
How about your personal one? What did god taught you so far?

luciferhalfangel 26th Feb 2013 Tue, 11:14 How can you possibly understand GOD, if he works in mysterious ways?

They react foolishly and resent their problems rather than pausing to consider what benefit they might bring. Here are five ways God wants to use the problems in your life:
1. God uses problems to DIRECT you.
What happens to FREEWILL?
2. God uses problems to INSPECT you.
God is not omniscient. And cant read your thoughts. Otherwise, there wont be any INSPECTING.
3. God uses problems to CORRECT you.
If your sister was gang raped, consider it as god CORRECTING her. Give praise! :praise:
4. God uses problems to PROTECT you.
You owe this man huge amount of money. He was planning to sue you. Luckily god PROTECTED you buy giving the man a heart attack. He was 50, with 5 kids and a loving wife.
Aint you special.
5. God uses problems to PERFECT you.
Looks counterproductive.
Saan ba maraming krimen? Sa area na maraming mahihirap. Thats PERFECTION.
Here's the point:
God is at work in your life - even when you do not recognize it or understand it.
But it's much easier and profitable when you cooperate with Him.

"God is at work in your life, cooperate with him... "
:lmao:

ginuzence 26th Feb 2013 Tue, 14:35 ok guys I'm actually giving all the theist a chance because I'm an agnostic.
Like I always gave Science a chance correcting its mistakes everday.
These are some contradictions from the divine book which most of you who believe in God consider perfect.
Kindly pick one or more then explain or correct if god told you the correction on the line that you pick.
God good to all, or just a few?
PSA 145:9 The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.
JER 13:14 And I will dash them one against another, even the fathers and the sons together, saith the LORD: I will not pity, nor spare, nor have mercy, but destroy them.
[Editor's note: Some readers have raised an objection to this alleged contradiction. They point out that PSA 145:20 states that The Lord keeps all who love Him, but that He will destroy the wicked. In other words, some see no contradiction between "The Lord is good to all" and JER 13:14. Others contend, however, that even if the Lord destroys the wicked he could do so with compassion, pity, and mercy. Further, there are biblical examples that indicate that the Lord is not necessarily "good" or merciful--even to those who are not wicked. One such example is Job. As one reader points out, "If Psalm 145:9 was not a contradiction of Psalm 145:20 or Jeremiah 13:14, it would read something like this: "The LORD is good to all, except the wicked: and his tender mercies are over all his works, except when He is punishing the wicked." In any case, the idea that the Lord is good and merciful is contradicted by countless examples in the Bible where God orders the destruction of infants, personally kills David's infant child, etc.]
War or Peace?
EXO 15:3 The LORD is a man of war: the LORD is his name.
ROM 15:33 Now the God of peace be with you all. Amen.
Who is the father of Joseph?
MAT 1:16 And Jacob begat Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
LUK 3:23 And Jesus himself began to be about thirty years of age, being (as was supposed) the son of Joseph, which was the son of Heli.
Who was at the Empty Tomb? Is it:
MAT 28:1 In the end of the sabbath, as it began to dawn toward the first day of the week, came Mary Magdalene and the other Mary to see the sepulchre.
MAR 16:1 And when the sabbath was past, Mary Magdalene, and Mary the mother of James, and Salome, had bought sweet spices, that they might come and anoint him.
JOH 20:1 The first day of the week cometh Mary Magdalene early, when it was yet dark, unto the sepulchre, and seeth the stone taken away from the sepulchre.
Is Jesus equal to or lesser than?
JOH 10:30 I and my Father are one.
JOH 14:28 Ye have heard how I said unto you, I go away, and come again unto you. If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.
Which first--beasts or man?
GEN 1:25 And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
GEN 1:26 And God said, Let us make man in our image, after our likeness: and let them have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over the cattle, and over all the earth, and over every creeping thing that creepeth upon the earth.
GEN 2:18 And the LORD God said, It is not good that the man should be alone; I will make him an help meet for him.
GEN 2:19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
How many stalls and horsemen?
1KI 4:26 And Solomon had forty thousand stalls of horses for his chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen.
2CH 9:25 And Solomon had four thousand stalls for horses and chariots, and twelve thousand horsemen; whom he bestowed in the chariot cities, and with the king at Jerusalem.
Is it folly to be wise or not?
PRO 4:7 Wisdom is the principal thing; therefore get wisdom: and with all thy getting get understanding.
ECC 1:18 For in much wisdom is much grief: and he that increaseth knowledge increaseth sorrow.
1CO 1:19: "For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent."
Human vs. ghostly impregnation
ACT 2:30 Therefore being a prophet, and knowing that God had sworn with an oath to him, that of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, he would raise up Christ to sit on his throne;
MAT 1:18 Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise: When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child of the Holy Ghost.
The sins of the father
ISA 14:21 Prepare slaughter for his children for the iniquity of their fathers; that they do not rise, nor possess the land, nor fill the face of the world with cities.
DEU 24:16 The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.
Rabbits do not chew their cud
LEV 11:6 And the hare, because he cheweth the cud, but divideth not the hoof; he is unclean unto you.
"Gerah," the term which appears in the MT means (chewed) cud, and also perhaps grain, or berry (also a 20th of a sheckel, but I think that we can agree that that is irrelevant here). It does *not* mean dung, and there is a perfectly adequate Hebrew word for that, which could have been used. Furthermore, the phrase translated "chew the cud" in the KJV is more exactly "bring up the cud." Rabbits do not bring up anything; they let it go all the way through, then eat it again. The description given in Leviticus is inaccurate, and that's that. Rabbits do eat their own dung; they do not bring anything up and chew on it.
Fowl from waters or ground?
GEN 1:20 And God said, Let the waters bring forth abundantly the moving creature that hath life, and fowl that may fly above the earth in the open firmament of heaven.
GEN 1:21 And God created great whales, and every living creature that moveth, which the waters brought forth abundantly, after their kind, and every winged fowl after his kind: and God saw that it was good.
GEN 2:19 And out of the ground the LORD God formed every beast of the field, and every fowl of the air; and brought them unto Adam to see what he would call them: and whatsoever Adam called every living creature, that was the name thereof.
Odd genetics
GEN 30:39 And the flocks conceived before the rods, and brought forth cattle ringstraked, speckled, and spotted.
The shape of the earth
ISA 40:22 It is he that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in:
MAT 4:8 Again, the devil taketh him up into an exceeding high mountain, and sheweth him all the kingdoms of the world, and the glory of them;
Astronomical bodies are spherical, and you cannot see the entire exterior surface from anyplace. The kingdoms of Egypt, China, Greece, Crete, sections of Asia Minor, India, Maya (in Mexico), Carthage (North Africa), Rome (Italy), Korea, and other settlements from these kingdoms of the world were widely distributed.
Snakes, while built low, do not eat dirt
GEN 3:14 And the LORD God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and above every beast of the field; upon thy belly shalt thou go, and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
Earth supported?
JOB 26:7 He stretcheth out the north over the empty place, and hangeth the earth upon nothing.
JOB 38:4 Where wast thou when I laid the foundations of the earth? declare, if thou hast understanding.
Heaven supported too
JOB 26:11 The pillars of heaven tremble and are astonished at his reproof.
The hydrological cycle
ECC 1:7 All the rivers run into the sea; yet the sea is not full; unto the place from whence the rivers come, thither they return again.
JOB 38:22 Hast thou entered into the treasures of the snow? or hast thou seen the treasures of the hail,
Storehouses are not part of the cycle
Order of creation
Here is the order in the first (Genesis 1), the Priestly tradition:
Day 1: Sky, Earth, light
Day 2: Water, both in ocean basins and above the sky(!)
Day 3: Plants
Day 4: Sun, Moon, stars (as calendrical and navigational aids)
Day 5: Sea monsters (whales), fish, birds, land animals, creepy-crawlies (reptiles, insects, etc.)
Day 6: Humans (apparently both sexes at the same time)
Day 7: Nothing (the Gods took the first day off anyone ever did)
Note that there are "days," "evenings," and "mornings" before the Sun was created. Here, the Deity is referred to as "Elohim," which is a plural, thus the literal translation, "the Gods." In this tale, the Gods seem satisfied with what they have done, saying after each step that "it was good."
The second one (Genesis 2), the Yahwist tradition, goes:
Earth and heavens (misty)
Adam, the first man (on a desolate Earth)
Plants
Animals
Eve, the first woman (from Adam's rib)
How orderly were things created?
#1: Step-by-step. The only discrepancy is that there is no Sun or Moon or stars on the first three "days."
#2: God fixes things up as he goes. The first man is lonely, and is not satisfied with animals. God finally creates a woman for him. (funny thing that an omniscient god would forget things)
How satisfied with creation was he?
#1: God says "it was good" after each of his labors, and rests on the seventh day, evidently very satisfied.
#2: God has to fix up his creation as he goes, and he would certainly not be very satisfied with the disobedience of that primordial couple. (funny thing that an omniscient god would forget things)
Moses' personality
NUM 12:3: "Now the man Moses was very meek, above all the men which were upon the face of the earth."
NUM 31:14, 17, 18: "And Moses was wroth...And Moses said unto them, "Have ye saved all the women alive? ... Now therefore kill every male among the little ones, and kill every woman, ... But all the women children ... keep alive for yourselves."

The GENEALOGY OF JESUS?
In two places in the New Testament the genealogy of Jesus son of Mary is mentioned. MAT 1:6-16 and LUK 3:23-31. Each gives the ancestors of Joseph the CLAIMED husband of Mary and Step father of Jesus. The first one starts from Abraham(verse 2) all the way down to Jesus. The second one from Jesus all the way back to Adam. The only common name to these two lists between David and Jesus is JOSEPH, How can this be true? and also How can Jesus have a genealogy when all Muslims and most Christians believe that Jesus had/has no father.
