Some of you may already know this, but anyway, for the benefit of those who do not. There is a way to search for MP3 indeces and download them for free using Google.

The first technique was given to me by a friend of mine, and simply just require putting in a simple code on the Google search field. It actually is not just MP3s that you can download using this technique, but any type of file as well. I have tried it on 3gp, wmv, mp4, and so on, and it worked without a hitch. Just paste the code below on Google search field and change the variable in "xxx" into the extension of the file type you are searching for.

-inurl:htm -inurl:html -inurl:asp intitle:"index of" xxx

Another way is to actually specify the title or the artist of the MP3 file you are looking for, you can put in instead the code below substituting the variables "xxx" with the extension of file type and "yyy" the name of the artist or the title of the song you are looking for.

filetype:xxx inurl:xxx yyy

And finally, the other technique if you merely are looking for MP3s, simply just go to www.musgle.com, type in on the search field the name of the artist or the title of the song you are looking for, then just click search. the website will be automatically putting in automatically the required search code into Google and you'll be presented with the search results.

It works with in-built or most third-party browsers. Of course also on desktop computers.

the trouble with using mp3 search engine is that you are limited only to those that are shared freely by the owners. as i have mentioned, using the hack with google could allow you access to premium sites as well. as for mp3 search engines, the best one i know of with a good user interface and also the fastest is www.wuzam.com.

i don't know, i never had any problem downloading from my phone using any version of opera mini or even my in-built browsers. both my phones' in-built and third party browsers are capable of rendering full web pages and one also is able to handle flash and stripped-down ajax even.

Okey din naman ang Limewire or other P2P clients. Kaya lang you are at the mercy of the persons from whom you are downloading the files from. Admit it, pag naka-connect ka sa P2P network, most likely binabagalan mo yung upload para hindi nya maagaw yung bandwidth for download. Ganun din ang ibang user ng P2P. Eto kasing mga hack na ito at yung mga sites, ang limit lang nung bandwidth ay sa website na pinagkukunan mo mismo and of course yung sa ISP mo lang; at syempre naman most websites have large bandwidth allocations. Isa pa, wala pa namng P2P client for mobile phones, di ba? Etong mga sites na ito at yung mga hacks, pwede mong gamitin using Opera Mini or your in-built browser, and you can download directly to your phone. I shared the technique here kasi it is very convenient-- kahit nasa kama ako nagpapa-antok na nakakapagdownload pa din ako. Yung notebook computer ko kasi is infected by nasty viruses at hindi ko naman ma-reformat pa kasi maraming importanteng files. Kaya almost exclusively nag-a-access ako ng interent sa mga phones ko lang. Pag nasa work naman, dahil bawal ang phones at disabled din ang USB ports ng computers, nagda-download na lang ako using those sites and techniques tapos ina-upload ko na lang sa GMail or mga online storage services, tapos ida-download ko na lang sa phone later.

I always use google for mp3's when I'm surfing using my phone, but I always encounter those phoney indexes, I say phoney because clicking on some links lead you to pay sites. Very annoying.
