This configuration is working perfectly using ZT321, Baizhao 8928 and IPhone Clone A380 and probably will work using other China Phones.

If your SIM card is previously activated using other phones specially those phones supported by Globe and Smart, no need to activate your SIM. This is also valid for postpaid users since SIM cards are pre-activated for MMS, GPRS and other services.

But if your SIM is not yet activated or never been used for MMS and GPRS, you need to activate your SIM before you can use MMS and GPRS services.

For Smart SIM, you can use your China Phones to activate MMS and GPRS by simply sending/texting MMS ON / GPRS ON to 333 (I don’t know if this number is still valid). No need to download the configuration for Smart. Just use the configuration I’ve given.

For Globe SIM, this is a little bit harder and need some workaround. I tried to call Globe Customer Service but they cannot activate your SIM manually on their system and the only way to activate it is by downloading the configuration thru text or by asking them to send the configuration. But since China Phones are not yet supported by any Service Provider, what you can do is to active MMS and GPRS using another phone. Monitor until your SIM is activated then transfer your SIM in your China Phone and enjoy surfing and sending MMS.

In another forum, they said you can try using configuration for SE p900. I’ve never tried this but if this really works, well and good for China Phone fanatics.

Thanks for reading and hope this may help.

@agaxent - how can i activate my GPRS using smart network on my T630, I'm a little bit confused. THANKS

this is the super mega easiest way to obtain the settings (and this is like the hundredth time i'll write this)

point your browser to http://www.sonyericsson.com and look for the quick link of "WAP setup" at the bottom right portion of the page. if you dont find it there, look for it under "support" link. (ofcourse you have to select asia-pacific philippines first)

then... save the OTA settings... after... Go to "data comm." or wherever you may find DNS address, (if you find 2, try this first to one, if it doesn't work, do it to the other one...----> read on, but usually it is under "data comm.") input 202.138.128.28 ***ooops, someone said na there is a default DNS address daw... uhmm, i'll see if that works smoothly, if so, yun yung ipapalit ko dito..

ok? i hope this works.

btw, sometimes surfing could be unpleasantly slow, sometimes you'd have to re-connect GPRS, etc., perhaps this is what you get for surfing wap for free (ooops, i really dont know if this one's free for i have used "minternet:apn"(ericsson gateway) for the past months and it is charged 25c/kb... this one (the settings) uses "wap" as its apn, and sun's own wap gateway, so i'm not sure if its free or not...)

if still, this won't work, pm me and i'll tell you the other settings. (but that's definitely charged 25c/kb, indisputably!)

GPRS Settings Sony Ericsson W710i

Step 1: Click here (http://www.sonyericsson.com/spg.jsp?cc=global&lc=en&ver=4001&template=ps3&zone=ps) to receive the correct settings from SonyEricsson by sms

Step 2: Follow the instructions to set up your phone:
After step 1 and 2 you have to set up which connection java applications may use. Do this by selecting "Settings" in your phone’s main menu, go to "Connectivity" by pressing right, go down to "Settings for Java", push "Select" and then select the GPRS connection you want to use.

If step one for some reason hasn’t worked, you may also set up your phone’s configuration manually:
1. Go to Menu > Settings > Connectivity > Datacommunication > Dataaccount > New account
2. Select Add
3. Set account type to PS-data
4. Click Select
5. Enter a name for the account, for example your operator
6. Click Continue
7. Enter the access point name under APN and Username and Password if requested (click here (http://www.nav4all.com/site2/www.nav4all.com/eng/gprs_listcountries.php?m=W710i) to check your settings)
8. Save
9. Back * 3
10. Select Internet settings > Internet profiles
11. New profile > Add
12. Connect with > choose the above created account
13. Save
14. Back * 3
15. Select Settings for Java
16. Choose account you have just created.

After setting up your phone continue with step 2

Step 2: Install Nav4All on your mobile phone*

Switch on the Bluetooth GPS sensor so that it can be automatically paired with the mobile phone right after installing Nav4All.

Four-step Installation:
Step 1:
Switch on the GPS sensor.
Step 2:
Go to http://www.nav4all.com/install using your phone's web browser and follow the instructions.
Step 3:
After downloading, Nav4All must be started up. Follow the instruction options:
a) The display language
b) The audio language
c) The GPS sensor
Step 4:
Nav4All can now be retrieved under Applications.

Tip: consult the mobile phone manual on how to start up the installed Java applications.
This varies from one mobile phone to the other.

* This manual assumes that you know how to call up web pages. Consult the manual of your mobile phone or the handbook.
