Megamobile Launches Mail2Mobile for Holiday Well-Wishers
Corporate/Events | Just Announced
Mon 22 Dec 2008

Mandaluyong City, Philippines -- MegaMobile, the wireless services subsidiary of publicly-listed IPVG Corp. (PSE: IP), announced the launch of its newest Free SMS Messaging service called (M2M).

According to MegaMobile President Jose Manuel Fernando, "Keeping in touch during the holidays is one of the most important reasons why people stay connected. M2M is possibly the easiest way to send free SMS to friends and loved ones from anywhere in the world."

Anyone with an email address can now send text messages directly from their email to any mobile subscriber of Globe and Smart networks. Messaging to Sun Cellular subscribers will also be made available by January 2009.

The M2M service is as easy as sending an email. Users need not register nor download any application. To send an SMS, simply type-in <mobile number>@ m2m.ph (ie., 09208881234@m2m.ph) in the email recipient box ("To:"), write the message and send; just like any regular email. The message is then forwarded as an SMS to the recipient's mobile phone. Recipients can respond by simply replying as they would to any regular SMS. Their messages are then forwarded to the source email address.

Likewise, with M2M, mobile subscribers can now send SMS messages to any email address. Mobile users simply text-in M2M <email address> <message> (ie., M2M juandlc@yahoo.com Hey, Kumusta? When r we going out?) and send to 2948 for Globe, Smart and Sun networks.

"The service is very timely. M2M is our way of helping out our *Kababayans* who would want to save on costs while continuing to keep in touch with their loved ones here and abroad," said Fernando. M2M messaging from emails is free while messages from mobile phones are charged a minimal fee of P2.50/sms.

FYI lang po sa mga hindi pa nakakaalam.
Tried and tested na po ito. 160 max characters.
May lag ng 2~3 mins... probably caused by network traffic na rin.

Paki info na lang kung repost ito, para i delete ko.

Merry Christmas sa lahat.
