Annabelle Rama is an artist/ talent manager and a former actress in the Philippines.
Life and career
Rama is a native of San Nicolas, Cebu. She is one of the lesser known stars during the Bomba era. She started her showbiz career with her first movie Uhaw which is a sensational hit during its theater run. She starred in various movies during her time including Hidhid (1971), Hayok (1970), Uhaw (1970), and Apoy at Paraiso (1971).
She is married to Eddie Gutiérrez, one of the 60s famous actors. She is the mother, as well as the artist manager, of beauty queen-actress-host Ruffa Gutierrez, matinee idol Richard Gutierrez and twin brother Raymond Gutierrez, Elvis Gutierrez, and Ritchie Paul (also known as RP Gutierrez). She also serves as an talent manager to teen stars like Ehra Madrigal, JC de Vera, and Nicole Anderson.
In 2008, she made a comeback movie My Monster Mom with daughter Ruffa Gutierrez.
Controversy
n 15 April 2009, Rama filed a grave slander or serious oral defamation case for ruining her reputation against the GMA-7 Senior Vice President for Entertainment and a Producer of many TV shows Wilma Galvante who earlier filed a 7-million suit against her. According to the affidavit presented by Rama, Galvante seriously insulted and maligned her when she spoke to JC de Vera, one of Rama's talents. Galvante allegedly gave de Vera the impression that Rama is an incompetent and unprofessional talent manager. Galvante cited that Rama usually pulls out her talents from shows at the very last minute of production.
