Lightbulb FYI: Mobile Technology Development

FYI lang p0! Share ko sa iny0!

1. GPRS (General Packet Radio Service) packet oriented transmissi0n meth0d which pr0vides a max speed of 56 kbps.

2. EDGE (Enhanced Data Rates for GSM Evolution) is a further devel0pment of GPRS techn0l0gy, which offers a speed of 220 kbps (higher speeds p0ssible depending on the netw0rk). EDGE offers a c0nsiderably fast c0nnecti0n if UMTS is n0t available.

3. UMTS (Universal Mobile Telecommunications Systems) can reach a transfer rate of up to 384 kbps d0wnl0ad & 384 kbps upl0ad.

4. HSDPA (Highspeed Downlink Packet Access)

5. HSUPA (Highspeed Uplink Packet Access)

HSDPA has c0nsiderably faster speeds of 1,200 kbps, 3,600 kbps, & 7,200 kbps in d0wnlink & up to 2,000 kbps in uplink.

The next generati0n of HSPA will have d0wnl0ad speeds of 14.4 Mbps & 5.7 Mbps to 11.5 Mbps upl0ad speeds.

6. 4G technologies that will include WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access), LTE(Long-Term Evolution), & UMB (Ultra Mobile Broadband). These wireless br0adband techn0l0gies will have the capacity of 100 Mbps d0wnl0ad speeds or higher.

WiMAX (Worldwide Interoperability for Microwave Access) is m0st often c0nfused with Wi-Fi, an older wireless techn0l0gy based on the IEEE 802.11 c0mmunicati0ns standard f0r WLANs (wireless l0cal area netw0rk), that's m0stly used t0day by internet cafes, malls, airp0rt l0unges, h0mes & offices f0r their wireless Internet service. Empl0yed in small areas, Wi-Fi transmits signals fr0m a range of 32 meters to 95 meters.

LTE (Long-Term Evolution) is optimized to deliver very fast Internet data speeds of up to 100 Mbps f0r d0wnlink & 50 Mbps uplink, c0mpared to 7.2 Mbps offered t0day by HSPA (high speed packet access) & the 2 Mbps offered by wideband CDMA (WCDMA). With this capacity, LTE can carry m0bile HDTV (High Definiti0n Televisi0n) streaming & online interactive games.

Aside fr0m LTE & WiMAX, an0ther 4G techn0l0gy being devel0ped is the UMB (Ultra Mobile Broadband, which is an impr0vement of the CDMA2000 m0bile ph0ne standard f0r next generati0n applicati0ns & requirements.

Each of the 4G techn0l0gies has a supp0rt fr0m m0bile & tech c0mpanies. N0kia Siemens & Ericss0n is t0uting f0r LTE, Qualc0mm initially preferred UMB but went f0r LTE, while Intel supp0rts the WiMAX.

Am0ng the wireless techn0l0gies present t0day, the new WiMAX or Worldwide Interoperability f0r Microwave Access, an IEEE 802.16 standards-based techn0l0gy, has been creating a l0t of buzz because it has the capability to pr0vide wireless br0adband c0nnectivity to a very wide area of 30 miles radius, which is a wh0le Metr0p0litan area already.

That's all f0lks! Sana po e may napul0t kay0ng kn0wledge kahit papan0! & if useful f0r y0u, please hit the THANKS butt0n!
