Default Tutorial: Native OpenVPN (CAB) for Windows Mobile!!!

eto na po ang tutorial para sa gustong gumamit ng VPN for their windows mobile device alternative ito sa TOONEL this makes use of OPENVPN as vpn client you need to have a working VPN account para dito.

    Procedures (For PocketPC devices muna):
NOTE: for SMARTPHONES (Windows Mobile Standard/non-PocketPC), use the smartphone version of openvpn (see post #6 or download the openvpn files here:[Link available to registered users only. Click here to register.]
yung activesync version ang gamitin ninyo, wag yung cab.

    0. create a VPN account (free or premium), dami nagkalat na VPN dito sa symbianize.

    1. download OPENVPN (see attached files below) or download here:
[Link available to registered users only. Click here to register.]

NOTE: Cab is for windows mobile pocketpc, check out smartphone version on Post #6

choose installation directory. para sa setup. Close OpenNPV Connection Manager (andun yun sa Today Screen ninyo). DO NOT RUN IT YET

    2. We need to specify kung alin ang installation directory para sa config natin. Open the configuration file (.ovpn file) and edit the entries for certificate and account. your config should look like this:

    client
    dev tun
    proto udp
remote 111.111.111.111 222 ----->>sample IP lang to and port
    keepalive 10 120
    resolv-retry infinite
    cipher BF-CBC
    comp-lzo
    mute 1
    lport 60 ---->>sample lport
    persist-key
    persist-tun
ca "\\Storage Card\\Program Files\\OpenVPN\\config\\ca.crt" ---->>pwdeng ibang file name na crt file, depende sa VPN provider to. change directory if necessary.
    auth-user-pass "\\Storage Card\\Program Files\\OpenVPN\\config\\password.txt" ---->>pwedeng ibang filename,depende sa VPN provider to
    reneg-sec 0
    verb 1

    3. copy-paste the modified config file to installation directory (e.g. \Storage Card\Program Files\OpenVPN). include the authentication file.

    4. Setup your connections. kelangan natin ng NO PROXY NO PORT connection for this matter.

    access point: http.globe.com.ph (for globe)
    or
    internet (for smart)

make sure you set the connection to connect to internet.

    5. run openvpn connection manager on your device. check TAP tab to see if there is available TAP device. If walang availbale TAP device, reinstall the cab file.

    6. tap on SETTINGS 2 tab and set your device to use the connection that we setup before (yung no port no proxy setting natin)

    7. tap on SETTINGS and uncheck "TRY TO PING SERVERS ON CONNECT"

    8. tap on MENU>>START FROM CONFIG. Select your VPN server.

    9. Enter your user name and password. then press OK.

NOTE: To bypass authentication, you need to edit the config to open a text file that contains your account. (e.g. account.txt) depending on the config.

    10. Wait until it connects. to view connection status, minimize OpenVPN. On the lower right portion of the screen, you will notice the OpenVPN status, wait until it stops on GREEN color. Once connected, you will notice Sync status on the top portion of your screen indicated by two arrows pointing on opposite directions. you can also verify connection on TAP tab, state should be in use instead of available. Let your network card connect to THE INTERNET, not on WORK

    11. you may now use your browser or any other app tested to work on:

    OM 5.1
    Opera Mobile 10
    Pocket IE
    Uzard
    Youtube
    Google Maps
    Midomi
    Palringo
    Opera Browser 9
    Facebook mobile
    XDAFacebook

    try unmoded apps din

    12. to close/disconnect OpenVPN, tap on the status icon on the lower right portion of your screen and tap SIGNAL STOP ALL

    NOTE!!!
Make sure that your network card connects to THE INTERNET not on WORK
    (go to START>>SETTINGS>>CONNECTIONS>>NETWORK CARDS)

    NOTE:
put your VPN server's certificates in the installation directory as well. include keys (if any) and account files.

Default Re: Tutorial: Native OpenVPN (CAB) for Windows Mobile!!! (free Net Connection!)

    sample ovpn config:

    1. open your existing ovpn file with NOTEPAD.
    2. edit the lines to make it somehow similar to this

    client
    dev tun
    proto udp
remote 111.111.111.111 222 ----->>sample IP lang to and port
    keepalive 10 120
    resolv-retry infinite
    cipher BF-CBC
    comp-lzo
    mute 1
    lport 60 ---->>sample lport
    persist-key
    persist-tun
ca "\\Storage Card\\Program Files\\OpenVPN\\config\\ca.crt" ---->>pwdeng ibang file name na crt file, depende sa VPN provider to.
    auth-user-pass "\\Storage Card\\Program Files\\OpenVPN\\config\\password.txt" ---->>pwedeng ibang filename,depende sa VPN provider to
    reneg-sec 0
    verb 1

NOTE: IP, Ports and Lports depend on your VPN provider and the network that you use.

    3. save the file as .OVPN.

    4. create the authentication file with NOTEPAD.
    5. put your user name and password (separate the two using new line)

    6. save as any .txt file (file name should be the same as the one contained by the config file (.ovpn file)
    7. transfer the .ovpn file to your phone, including the certificate file (.crt file) and the authentication file
