1. How to color using flat shapes
2. How to color using transitioning effect in shapes (resulting to realistic vexels)
3. How to vexel with posterize
4. How to vexel without posterize

PART II: HOW TO COLOR USING SHAPES
Now that we have a line art, we now color it with the use of shapes. As I mentioned earlier, vexelling is coloring using shapes as a medium so in order to create shapes, we then have to use the shape layer of the pentool. ♥
Where can I locate the shape layer?
Click the pentool under the Tools section, and on the upper left (just beside the path layer) click on the shape layer ♥
Now, just like the path layer, create an anchor point along the lines we created
Note: *Technique* To create another shape under that layer, just click "add to shape layer" located at the center top of the screen in order to create just one layer Kasi, if you will add a new layer, it might be very confusing and messy...
Word of advice: (but it is not strictly implemented, it's up to you parin) for beginners, normally shapes should be below the line art.
In my case, I want the line art to be on top of the shapes (or colors) so I'm putting the line art ABOVE the shape layer.
Take note, base palang yan, meaning pinaka-ilalim. :-)
Dba ang hair, merong hair strands? Lighting, etc? Saan nanggagaling ang shadow? (the basics) so, lalagyan natin ngayon yan :-)
I created another layer, this time I'm going to use just the shades of black and gray para magkaroon ng TRANSITION na tinatawag. I mean, magkalapit sila ng colors, so yun ang gagamitin ko.
And then just between the gray shape na pinili ko, pili ka ng color from the color palette na GITNA ng gray color na yan and the base color. Anong color ba yun specifically? It's up to your discretion. :-)
***
So for now, eto na ang transition
Una: base color
Next: highlights (gray)
You can use the same colors, but *play* with the opacity located on the right side of the layers
Why? Nandun ang light source natin if you will look closely at the picture.
And then I created some darker shapes...
Tapos... The hair strands
Paano ko lalagyan ng hair strands? Remember the first tutorial using Path layer? I will simply create lines with the use of path layer :-)
Done na ba? Parang hindi pa... so I added another lines using a different shade.. BLACK this time pero not super black
There... compare the previous photo to the last photo. So I added lines again..
Sa akin, yung last photo mukhang okay na yung buhok.. pero if you still want to add more hair strands, okay lang yun. Basta kung tingin mo okay na, then it's good. ♥

Next part of my tutorial: THE FACE
So I'm making it detailed.
Marami kasing kinds of coloring w/c I will share further on..
Next few topics:
1. How to color using flat shapes (can be seen usually in manga , cartoons, etc)
2. How to color realistically using opacity control in shape layers
3. How to vexel WITH POSTERIZE
4. How to vexel WITHOUT POSTERIZE
