Hi, Etong Thread na to is para sa Optimus 2x SU660, which is the Korean version of the Optimus 2x P990.
Mahirap maghanap ng Thread for support sa SU660, most likely chinese yung makikita nyo. Since malaki na yung naitulong ng Symbianize sakin these past years, I think magsshare naman ako.

Highlight muna natin yung Differences nila:
SU660
-Has 3 buttons below the screen (2 touch buttons and 1 physical home key as opposed to 4 touch keys in P990)
-Has Antenna for Digital TV (Useless dito sa Philippines since walang Digital TV station satin)
-Slightly different internals than P990, most notably all SU660 has 16GB of memory. (correct me if I'm wrong here)
-Mas mura ang SU660 as opposed to P990 sa Tipidcp, Sulit, etc..

First things first: HOW TO ROOT YOUR SU660:
May nakita akong Tuts from the blog of "Androidian". (Credits to him btw):

This the guide on how to root LG Star or also know as Korean version of LG Optimus 2x
1.) Download the Superuser for SU660 Optimus 2x

2.) Put SuperuserSU660.zip in to your internal or external SD card

3.) Install ClockworkMod Recovery 5.0.2.7 specially made for SU660

4.) Extract the the cwm-5.0.2.7-su660-20111121.zip file to drive c:\
I'll refer to this as C:\NV, but you can name it anything you like. Power off your phone and remove the battery. If you are using a desktop computer, plug the full-size USB-plug directly into a port on the motherboard (backside of the case usually). Press and hold volume-up AND volume-down while plugging the micro-USB into the phone.**

5.) Browse the c:\NV folder and click on flash-recovery.bat (if you are using Windows 7) or flash-recovery_xp.bat (If you are using Windows XP) and then choose option #1

The phone will display a Software-upgrade-screen, while the command-window will inform you of the progress. After a little while it'll be finished and you can press any key to exit. (Now, where's that 'any'-key again?) Just to be safe, wait another 10 seconds before removing the usb-cable from the phone, cutting its power. Now install the battery again.

6.) Hold volume-down and home key (center button) while pressing the power-key. Keep buttons pressed until you see an LG-Logo with a bluish halo. Now you should be in the regular ClockworkMod. Choose «Install Zip from sdcard» (by navigating to it with the volume-buttons, then select it with the power-button) then «choose zip from sdcard». Navigate to where you put SuperuserSU660.zip, select it and confirm. After a short while it'll inform you it's done. Press back-button, select «reboot system now.»

7.) Go to app drawer and if you see the superuser app installed, you have successfully rooted your phone

8.) Now go the market and install and run Busybox installer. Grant it root access when it asks, click OK bottom right, scroll to the bottom of the next screen and click Install. Voila, you're done.

"Right-click My Computer, select Manage, then Device-management. You should see a device with a yellow exclamation mark. Right-click it, select update/install driver. Select to manually search for a driver. Browse to C:\NV\driver, click Next. You should be greeted by a message telling you that «NVIDIA USB Boot-recovery driver for Mobile devices» has been installed."

Once naroot nyo na yung phone nyo, pwede na kayong magflash ng Custom Roms!
*Note: Almost all the Custom Roms for P990 can be flashed over to SU660. The Trick?:

1. Kuha kayo ng kahit anong custom ROM for P990, then:
2. without unzipping the whole thing, go to META-INF\com\google\android
3. Double Click the updater-script and open it in Notepad
4. Replace the p990 with su660. CASE SENSITIVE TO:
BEFORE:

getprop (ro.product.board ") ==" p990 ")

AFTER:
(getprop (ro.product.device ") ==" su660"| |
getprop ("ro.build.product") == "su660" | |

5. Save nyo sa .zip ng Custom rom ulit
Note: sa ibang roms iba yung format ng updater-script, basta palitan nyo lang yung p990 ng su660

6. Flash the ROM!
(Note na sometimes may bug/s ang Custom Roms, pag may bug, hanap nlng kayo ng iba. Recommended ko ang MIUI 2.4.13 and CM7 kang ROMs ni Temasek)

7. Once na Flash nyo na yung ROM, kelangan nyo naman ng Kernel, download the Kernel here:

8. Flash nyo yung Kernel via ClockworkMod Recovery, then wipe nyo yung data via ClockworkMod recovery ulit, then reboot nyo na yung phone!

Go launcher Lang kase gmit ko para ma-hide ko mga application na yun. Sana may solution for this. Tsaka pala natest mo na ba yung custom rom ng p990? Stable ba?

Pag finlash nyo yung custom roms, and kernel, magiging english language na sya. Natest ko na yung MIUI and CyanogenMod Kang ni Temasek, stable naman sila, with better battery llife pa


Kung gusto nyo lang tanggalin yung Korean Apps, iroot nyo yung Phone nyo (use tut above) then install root explorer.

Go to System/apps>>>>then tanggalin nyo dito yung mga ndi nyo kelangan

Ask Lang ulit king ano ang latest version ng Unit natin? Sakin kasi gingerbread 2.3.4 na. Tsaka kelan daw po ang release ng ICS? Sabi ng iba by da next 3 months daw. Di ko Lang Alam Kung to totoo yun. Tsaka ano pala ang mga useless na stock apps? Gusto ko irony phone ko and burahin mga useless apps.

wala pang official na ICS sa Optimus 2x sa pagkakaalam ko..merong mga ICS custom roms na modded para sa 2x, although ang bugs is that ndi ka makakaplay/record ng video dahil walang hardware acceleration yung mga custom roms na yun.. so antayin nlng natin, latest na gingerbread is 2.3.7
