[Share] DNS Changer malware update from Smart Communications
e-mail po ito sa akin ng Smart Communications.... gusto ko lang po ishare...
Dear Smart Subscriber,
The DNS servers that had been acting as temporary hosts for users infected by the DNS Changer malware were taken offline last July 9th (Monday). To guarantee continued connectivity of our subscribers, Smart set up a temporary DNS redirecting service and at the same time initiated a massive communications campaign to instruct customers on how to resolve DNS related issues.
Starting August 1, we will slowly phase-out our redirection services, and total discontinuation of redirection will take full effect on August 13. Affected customers may lose their Internet connectivity because their systems are still infected by the malware. For more information on the DNS malware and for customers who suspect that their systems are infected, please contact our Customer Support Hotline at *1888 or 6727277 for more details on how to clean up their system from the DNSChanger malware.

at kung pano ang manual checking sa Windows XP
Manually Checking for DNS Changer Infections
The following are the original manual checks to see if you computer is infected with any of the DNS Changer malware.
To check if your Windows XP machine is infected, first click the “Start” button.
Clicking the start button opens the Windows menu. Locate the “Run” option in the menu and
select it.
In the dialog, type in “cmd”, as the name of the program to run. (This opens a DOS shell. This is also available under other parts of the Windows Menu.)
In DOS shell, type in the command:
ipconfig /all
and hit enter.
The command you entered displays information about your computer’s network settings. Read the line starting with "DNS Servers". There might be two or more IP addresses listed there. These are the DNS servers your computer uses. Write down these numbers
