I created this thread for those who use Samsung galaxy 551 and let's talk about this phone Post na mga kapatid.

9500 ang price nito nung binili ko pero mga 2011 pa yun kaya baka bumaba na ito.

Maganda itong phone na ito when you compare to samsung galaxy y kasi meron itong GPU kaya it can handle some 3D games.

Button Combination


Q+power: The normal download mode

E+power: Emergency download mode.

R+power: Ramdump mode, never found out where it's usefull for.

T+power: Recovery Mode

Items required in your hand

Samsung Galaxy 551 aka I5510 aka Callisto
Working Flawless USB cable.
A computer with USB port and power supply for span of 45 minutes

Meron rin dapat kaung Callisto.ops tsaka yung .tar.md5 na file for the latest ROM (Which is gingerbread)

DL nyo na lang ito pinag sama sama ko na yung file.

1. Open nyo muna yung ODIN

2. Click the OPS button tapos may lalabas dyan na windows locate nyo yung callisto.ops

3. I check nyo yung "One Package" dun sa may option

4. Click nyo naman yung One Package na button sa may baba then locate nyo yung .tar.md5 na file dun sa Binigay kong file

5.Put your Galaxy 551 to Download Mode Q+Power and then connect to your PC

6. Dapat mag kulay Dilaw yung nasa unang COM port Mapping Then click nyo na yung start.

7. Wait nyo hanggang matapos and then meron na kayung Gingerbread 2.3.6 sa galaxy 551 nyo.


Maraming mga custom rom yung CP natin Meron na rin CM7 tsaka CM9 yung Galaxy 551 pero yung CM9 may mga bugs pa.
Post ko mamaya kong pano mag flash ng Custom ROM

Maganda rin naman siya pero mas maganda kung mag CM7 ka na stable na rin naman yun. Malapit na rin taung mgka CM10

bought this phone yesterday...2nd hand na nga lang, so far mas gusto ko ito kesa sa galaxy y which i only use for tethering (instead of buying a pocket wifi or my-fi device which i think almost has the same price with a 2nd hand galaxy y)... i like the fact that it has a qwerty keyboard, hirap kase ako sa touchscreen lalo pag nagddrive, yung se x10 kase is overpriced and liit sobra ng screen, ill try to play with it muna bago ko i-root..

Maganda po yung arkas kaso walang tun.ko para sa vpn.

pero para sa akin arkas 1.7 dabest rom for galaxy 551 search mo po ito ts.

Mas maganda ang resolution ng callisto kesa young. 16m colors kasi. Sa young 256k lang

Nice yeah mas maganda siya compare sa y. Yun rin nagustuhan ko dito may qwerty.

nag arkas rin ako dati kaso lumabas yung CM 7 para sa phone natin eh medyo stable naman tsaka maganda kaya nag cm7 na ko wait natin magkaka CM 10 na para sa phone natin.

0. Type in dial pad *#7465625#, make sure network lock is [ON]... if not you're not simlocked
1. If phone is not rooted, download SuperOneClickv2.2-ShortFuse.zip from this thread: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=803682
2. Connect the phone to your computer using, windows 7 installed the correct drivers for me
3. Once the drivers are installed, disconnect your phone
4. Open SuperOneClick
5. Reconnect your phone to the computer
6. Press Root in SuperOneClick... wait for it to finish (may take ~2-5 min)
7. Your phone is now rooted, hooray
8. Make sure your phone is in debug mode. Settings > Applications > Developer > Debug Mode
9. Copy ADB folder from SuperOneClick folder to C:\
10. Open command prompt (start > run > cmd)
11. Type in the following commands:

cd C:/adb (navigate to the adb folder you just placed)
adb devices (to verify device is connected)
adb shell
su
cat /dev/bml5>/sdcard/bml5.img (thats an "L" not a "one")
exit

You just copied bml5 binary to the root of your sdcard. If you get access denied, your phone was not properly rooted, try again.

12. Mount your SDCard and copy bml5.img to your desktop
13. Download HexEdit here: http://www.physics.ohio-state.edu/~prewett/hexedit/
14. Open bml5.img in HexEdit
15. Press FIND, select HEX, and paste in "FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF FF 30 30 30 30 30 30 30 30" (without quotes), then press OK
16. It should find the hex sequence, look to the right pane of HexEdit and you'll see an 8-digit numeric code (mine was split over two lines). This is your sim unlock code. Write down this code.
17. Turn off your phone
18. Place another networks simcard in your phone, and turn your phone back on
19. After it boots, it'll say this phone is network locked, and prompt for an unlock code... type the code found in step 16
20. If it doesn't prompt type in in the dialer: #7465625*638*# then type in your code
21. It should unlock no problem
22. Double check by typing *#7465625# in the dialer and making sure Network Lock is [OFF]

matanong ko lang TS may stock Froyo 2.2 ROM ka ba nito? ako kasi meron kaso lang di
gumagana yung toolkit. baka meron ka dyan. share mo naman.
