i had my wisdom tooth extracted last april. (it was the most excruciating pain ive ever felt) it was an impacted molar which has to be removed since it's useless and its gonna affect my second molar if i didnt hv it removed....
When a tooth is impacted pala, it's usually partly or totally under the gums, so pag hindi ginawan ng incision, there's no tooth structure exposed na makakapitan ng forceps or ma-elevate out. If it's really embedded in bone, the bone has to be sectioned as well.

nong aplikante ako ng pulis, kompleto lahat ng ipin ko pero noong medical/dental exam, sabe ng dentistang pulis, kelangan ko raw ipabunot ang wisdom tooth ko dahil impacted daw. pero since birth never naman nagka problema ang wisdom tooth ko never pang sumakit. pero ang sabi parin, kelangan ko daw i comply dahil baka ito pa maging sagabal kapag natanggap ako at dahilan na magkaproblema ako kapag simula na ang rigid training.

Ngayon ko lang na re-visit tong thread na to. Bumubwelo lang ako mag visit sa dentist. Tropa ko naman ung dental student. Mukhang go ko na talaga braces.

Yung malapit na dental clinic sa amin parang Metro ng Taxi mag presyo! Papa cleaning ka lang ng mild tapos pg ka inspect ng teeth mo, kung anu anu ng sales talk mga pinagsasabi. Kesyo pa brace daw ako, tapos per pasta is 1k per tooth?

Sir, baka mahaba habang cleaning ito. Same din ako sa scenario mo, at napalaban dentista koHuli kong dental siguro nasa 12 years old ako. Di ko na alam status ng ngipin ko ngayon (29 yrs old)
May tooth decay na ko sa tooth number 30 pero iniinda ko pa. Baka ipabunot ko na to soon. Hirap ngumuya, kanan lang lagi pang nguya ko..

Sa totoo lang mahal na ang ,singil nila pero naka depende sa clinic yun lalo kilala. Pagkakaalam ko 500 cleaning before pandemic , now diko alam pero pasta nagpapasta ako iba iba presyo depende kasi sa lalim last pasta ko noonh sunday 1300 siningil eh dalawa , tanggap ko naman 1300 yung isa kasi malalim diko lang alam dun sa isang ipin sa taas , ang mahal na talaga , alam ko kasi kapag mababa lang 800 lang jahahaha. Kaya yung may mga HMO sulitin nyu , papasta nyu na lahat hahaha , mas maliit sira mas ok kesa lumalala. Yung akin kasi yung 1st molar ko sa baba eh 2019 pa ako sinabihan mag papasta hahaha ayun nabasag noong 2020 1/4 ng ipin natanggal hahahaYung malapit na dental clinic sa amin parang Metro ng Taxi mag presyo! Ipagpatuloy mo ako nakapag pabrace na , pang 4mos koto , ang problema sakin singawin ako noon pa kaya , eto tadtad ng singaw ang lalaki pa average 4 singaw ko lagi buti may nabili ako gamot ,effective sobra yun nga lang talagang mapapaiyak ka hahaha.

Talagang tinatanggal kasi wisdom tooth impacted man o hindi , kasi nga mahirap ibrush yan lalo na impacted , yung akin pinabayaan ko lang kasi di nasakit , pero alarming na sakin kasi nangitim na sya peeo walang sakit , nadugo lang kaya , pinatanggal ko na baka ma bulok pa 2nd molar sayang.

Oo etong singaw lang naman to ang nagpalala lalo, Oo effective yung gamot ang dami ko narin na try nagamot dito talaga talagang tuyo ang singaw pero dapat , kung yung bracket tumatama at cause ng singaw dapat lagyan ng wax . Oo masakit sa unang kabit mga 1 week hahaha di mapakali ramdam mo narin gagalaw hahaha .kaya lugaw muna kainin . Goodluck sayo ,kapag nagpalagay ka ok naman kumain wag lang bawal yung matitigas para iwas tanggal bracket .

I also have an impacted wisdom tooth but worst, it's the third molar. Before I got my braces, my dentist carefully explained the process then fast-forward after 1 year 3 months from my first day na kinabit braces, dentist advised to start the surgery for the extraction nung impacted tooth, which I humbly declined, because the pros outweighs the cons (I think, kung hindi mali desisyon ko
). The foolish me still got the impacted tooth.Now, what are the consequences na hindi ko pinatanggal 'yun? Per my dentist:
- there can be a time na sumakit yung dalawa kong ngipin sa dulo kapag tumama si third molar kay second molar
- at pag nangyari 'yun ay masakit daw at masira din si second molar
- dahil may nakaumbok na part nung third molar na nakalitaw at may space in between third molar and second molar, kailangan i-floss lagi dahil madaling bahayan ng cavity gawa ng madaling kapitan ng pagkain at hard to reach siya ng toothbrush
- at kung dumating man yung time na gusto na ipatanggal, magkaka-space na naman sa pagitan ng mga ngipin ko hence another braces kung gusto kong mawala yung space (since it won't good sa akin kasi mukhang bungi pag may space ngipin ko; I have a friend na asset niya yung space sa ngipin niya looks good for her, unfortunately not for me since iba-iba tayo structure ng ngipin)
I also had a tooth extracted that caused spacing na sobrang halata pag ngumiti ako na literal mukhang bungi. Braces fixed it. Your dentist friend is correct, pagdidikit-dikitin nga 'yon ng braces. If the dentist says it can be fixed by braces, then follow the dentist. They know it best, they studied and learned for years about sa mga ngipin natin, that's their expertise. Ang tanong ko lang sa dentist ko about dun, what if pagkatanggal ng braces may chance bang bumalik yung space? My dentist was honest and said there IS a chance, but slim (in the case sa ngipin ko) since the gums (and retainers after matanggal braces) will help the teeth to be fixated in their places.
I'd recommend Uy Dental Clinic (they also have a lot of branches in NCR and Provinces). I had to be turned over by their two different dentists, both of them were good. I feel like all of their dentists are, kasi the founder of UDC is my ninong, at schoolmate ko yung mga kinakapatid ko (anak niya) they're all dentists now ng UDC din, tapos dami nilang certificates, achievements and stuff sa ibang bansa related to Dentistry before they established their own UDC branch dito sa Philippines #skl. Tapos check UDC's Facebook Page may mga times nagpopost sila ng free consultation for Dental Implants, then next month free consultation for this other treatment naman etc. From there you can probably ask magkano ang Tooth Implantation sakanila. Or you can call them.
I just got had my teeth cleaned for ₱1,800.00 (inclusion of aerosol, head and feet cover (hindi ko alam tawag) basta parang shower cap). For sure may mas lower pa sa ibang clinics since iba-iba pricing nila at dipende daw sa severity ng calcular deposits (tartar).
I also have two sungki ngipin, parang bampira. In my case, instead of extraction ang ginawa ng dentist ko ay binawasan niya lang yung ngipin, literal (after ilang months nung naibaba ng braces yung sungki kong 'yon, binaba in the means na ipinantay siya sa ibang ngipin) then may tool siyang ginamit na nagpa-square nung sungki instead of patusok. Probably best to see a Dentist and have your teeth examined baka magka-option ka ng ganito instead of extraction.Sungki ngipin heremasakit ba magpatanggal ng sungki?
My dentist also adviced to get a cleaning every six (6) months IF I'm not the type of person na hindi every after meal mag-toothbrush. The same question mo yung tanong ko sakanya "Talaga po bang every six months ang pagpapalinis, hindi ba ninipis ngipin ko?" Luckily, 'yun nga recommended ang every six months in today's time daw lalo sa mga nagtratrabaho na hindi makapag-commit on brushing at least 3x a day or every after meals. But in my case daw (kasi masipag naman ako magtoothbrush), I can get a dental cleaning when I feel a tartar build up daw.
Yung pagkalagay at pagtanggal ng braces sa ngipin, hindi masakit. Bracket lang yun na ididikit sa each tooth mo. Ang masakit yung pag nilagyan ka ng elastic ligatures (yung parang lastiko na nakikita mo sa mga naka-brace)may nakapagtry naba sa inyo nung parang DIY na parang mouth piece na magpapaayos daw ng ngipin? or lahat ng ganun scam?
damin nagsasabi magpabrace daw ako kasi ampangit ng ipin ko sa harap may isang tumagilid,,ang concern ko lang gano ba kasakit magpabrace? hahaha sobrang hirap ba kumain? yun ang concern ko eh,,baka lalong mamayat
yun 'yung masakit na tumatagal ng 2-3 days (pero baka nakadipende rin sa ngipin yung tagal, sakin kasi every palit ng ligatures ko dati parang 3 days na masakit ngipin ko kada kain, kada salita o galaw ng bunganga dahil yung ligastures na 'yun yung nanghihila ng ngipin from each other). So aside from that hateful elastic ligatures, for me having the brace itself hindi masakit. Just 1 day after my braces were put, kumain na ako ng mga matitigas like yung pork meat sa nilaga tapos yung sweet corn na nabibili sa mga naglalako sa daan. 
"Braces ka lang, pagkain 'to" in my head.I didn't follow my dentist's advice to remove my impacted wisdom tooth. Same as yours, it's the third molar for me too. Dang, did I made the wrong choice of not having it extracted? Did it affect yung spacing ng ngipin mo? Like did it made a visible space in between some teeth? How excruciating was it? 1 - 5 being 5 as very painful in contrast with having a toothache.

May tissue (or bone? I forgot yung tamang tawag) pa nga daw na inadvise si dentist to remove sa ngipin ko, nakita sa x-ray parang lubid ba in between my central incisor teeth. Hindi ko na rin pinatanggal. I don't know if I'm too stubborn, lazy because of the post-care needed or 'm just plainly stupid not to follow the dentist's advice. I just pray not to regret it later.

I didn't follow my dentist's advice to remove my impacted wisdom tooth. Same as yours, it's the third molar for me too. Dang, did I made the wrong choice of not having it extracted?
