[ADVISE] Help in Assembling/Building/Choosing/Upgrading Your Computer

Hi guys,

I started this thread to help everyone wanting a new computer. All you need to do is post the following:

budget:
usage:

other miscellaneous requirements:

*If to be used for gaming,. please indicate the games you wish to play.


The prices i will be using are those that come from major shops in gilmore and also PCexpress and others... The prices will only reflect that of which on the date of my post.

How to get to Gilmore:
commuting... From EDSA get on the MRT to Cubao and take the other train and get off at Gilmore station. so easy.
driving... Via aurora is the easiest way from EDSA. anyway, just ask na lang cos i dunno where you'll be coming from.

Hi. Please help me buy a computer for my son. He will be using it mainly for school and some games. He likes to play Dota and L4D. Our budget for the PC would be 20K. We already have a printer, monitor and speakers. Our monitor is a 17" CRT monitor. My son said he prefers 1gb video card.

aun buti ako nauna..hehehe...NICE THREAD sir 3p, gs2 ko sana pc setup na worth mga 30-40k, wag m muna isama ung monitor, cpu lng...for gaming, internet at programming (gusto ko kc mgaral ulit ng programming e, khit simple lng) at syempre pra mpanooran din ng mga vidoes...bgyan m nmn ako ng idea about s mga terms gaya ng SLI, RAID, OC s MoBo at GPU (e2 ang alm klng overclocking, tama ba), FSB, CrossFire Technology and etc...my mga nbbasa kc ako gaya s isang pc mag na dko mgets...

Advice me also bossing..

budget: 30k (at most)
usage: gaming, rendering/3d modeling (3dsMax, AutoCAD, Revit)

These are the parts that I have already:
1. Monitor
2. Keyboard & mouse
3. Speaker
4. Graphics card: Nvidia GForce 8800GT (at least 600w psu)
5. Wireless-N router & network adapter

waaaaa...may ganyan pala na pc grabe pala nyan 174k..akala ko mga 60k na pinakamahal eh..
di ko kasi alam presyohan basta po sir ohnow core duo lang na babagay dun sa mga maximum settings DX10 na games
pede din po cguro quad core kung hindi maxado malayo ang presyo

pede po b request ako ng isang setup ng AMD at setup ng Intel

@wesley depende kasi sa size ng display e, pero kung tipong hanggang 24in ka alng, pwede na siguro isang 4870. tapos yung hard disk palitan mo ng ordinary. tapos powersupply HX620 na lang(6K)

hey.. may ganito palang thread. salamat po. im currently running on P4 1.8GHZ, matsonic motherboard, geforce mx 400 64mb videocard, 512RAM, balak kung upgrade para malaro yung mga bagong games ngayon, budjet ko? hmm yung pinakamura na siguro. purpose is gaming. salamat sa tulong.

next step:
add for a power supply(HEC Raptor 450W/500W) ~ 2K

next step:
add for a video card (GF 9500GT, 256MB DDR3 ONLY, don't get anything you think may be better, believe me its a waste of money) ~ 3K

sell your old PC on tipidpc and get a new casing. ~ 1K

13K. i suggest holding off first on the video card and see if your satisfied gaming on the Integrated graphics processor.

i don't understand what you mean by futureproof... kasi para sa akin, wala nun, pero if you mean you can still play on oin 3-4 years time, prolly get the 9800GT.

IMHO, mainstream parts, lowend/mid level/highend is where its the cheapest buys. go further, advanced tech...(skull trail, DDR3, SSD HDDs etc.. you pay the premium for exclusivity) and phased out(SDRAM or DDR, and you pay more due to scarcity of supplies)

no sorry, most new games require a video card with shader model 2.0, i believe the MX400 only has SM1.1. you can still sell that. sell it per piece or by the lot if you want, you'll probably get around 2000~3000 for everything.
