May naglalaro ba ng chess dito? Okay siya laruin(it is a great sport), dali lang matutunan ang rules, many people considered it as a sport. A Filipino named Wesley So is in the top 10 players in the world. But Wesley now plays for US.

1. En Passant Rule
Mayroon tinatawag na en passant rule sa chess,this is an official rule, marami hindi
nakaka alam ng rule na ito. May mga nakakalaban ako dati nagugulat pag ginagawa ko ung move na ito.

2. 50 move rule draw
Eto official rule to, halimbawa after 50 moves na diresto na alang kainan na nangyari, a player can claim a draw.

3. three moves repetition.

May mga tao na hindi nagustuhan ang chess, kasi nagtataka sila kung bakit matagal mag isip ung iba.Kung hindi mo alam ang strategy and tactics, hindi mo talaga alam ang iisipin mo sa chess. But once na matutunan mo ang mga concepts sa chess ma appreciate mo ito, at mas mag enjoy ka na laruin ito, exciting talaga laruin to pagnatutunan mo mga chess concepts na yan.

Dati nung turuan ako ng kapitbahay k ng chess (pero rules lang tinuro niya), nagustuhan ko siya, but after playing it for some time tumigil ako, then bigla nabasa ko ung Play Winning Chess ni Seirawan, namangha ako, kasi chess is a great sport pala at maganda ung history niya, may mga interesting personalities pala, dahil sa book na un nalaman k na may mga positional, tactical at endgame concepts pala sa chess. Mula nun I appreciated and love the sport.

Actually hindi mo naman kailangan maging matalino para maging good player dito. Pagaralan mo lang ang tactics, strategy and endgames, malaki improve ng laro mo at mas mamahalin mo ang chess. Pwede ka makapulot ng mga diskarte na ito sa books, online forum at google lang ng mga chess tutorials. Kailangan talaga pagaralan mga yan to really improve your game. Gaya ng sinabi ko earlier, ang common cause of defeat sa amateur level ay blunders like makakainan ka ng piyesa na ala naman kapalit, so pagaaralan ang tactics gaya ng fork, at skewer para mabawasan ito. Mahalaga din pagaralan ang endgames at positional play. Sa amateur level madalas hindi mo alam ang dapat na plano mo, so kung pinagaralan mo ang positional play, you will have a guide sa mga calculations mo. Your Calculation is based on the positional elements of the position. Weak squares and weak pawns are sample of positional elements in chess.

Parang other sports yan eh like tennis, para magimprove ka you need to learn the techniques in tennis.

Bro tingintingin ka sa National bookstore daming mga chess books na mura (gambit publications) pero sulit.Eto suggestion ko na bilhin mo kung may makita ka. Hindi mo naman kailangan bilhin lahat, pumili ka lang ng gusto mo

Nawala na ebooks ko bro, pero try mo sa 4shared ung, Chess Tactics for Champion by Polgar, Chess Tactics by GM Lein.

Pero ung ibang members ng barangay Wesley So (go to chessgames.com and look at wesley so page), minsan nakakachat siya, minsan nakikipagchat si Wesley sa mga fans nya sa page na un. Sa mannypacquiao.ph chess forum section, nakipagchat dati si Wes. Ung nanay ng katrabaho ko kilala si Wesley at familiy nya.

May naka try naba dito na maglaro with giant chess pieces? Sa pinakataas ng SM Manila may ganun, na try ko na twice maglaro, masaya siya laruin. Sa may Ermita and Luneta may playing place din, pero hindi giant pieces, sa Market Market may giant chess pieces din yata na pwede ka maglaro.
