I know na pagbebenta ng merchandise ang habol ng bandai kaya patuloy ang mga gundam shows and as fans, we simply follow lalo na kung gusto mo yung designs ng mecha. Build Fighters and Build Fighters Try are Bandai's love letter or milking cow para sa mga Gunpla fans plus it's fun to see some mech designs na sa manga lang makikita na animated in the show kahit saglit lang. What I don't like about most of the shows eh yung paulit-ulit na type ng characters kaya para sa akin, walang makakapagpa-taob ng 08th MS Team, 2nd yung Unicorn at yung ibang shows, nakaka-antok na at pinanood ko lang for the mech designs. Yung Iron-Blooded Orphans, magaganda ang mecha designs pero yung characters eh mejo boring dahil nakita na nating lahat yun sa ibang shows, pero ok ang dynamics ni Orga at Mika na mejo parody ng Gurren Lagann.
first off, pagdating sa originality at context wise, malaki diperensya ng reocnquista in g sa mga mainstream na gundam shows. Like what I said, tinackle nito ang mga naging irony ng technological progression sa pag iintroduce ng different yet interesting na mga factions sa series(venus globe, towasanga, g-it corps, ameria at capital army) at ang konsepto ng su-chordism.

well thought out din ang mga skirmish at dog fights. Something na naglalack sa mga ibang gundam shows na parang dynasty warriors ang mga fight scene(the 1 vs 100 enemy bs). Malaki inimprove ng animation ng g-reco over the course of the series despite the fact na mayroon itong budget issues.

hinde lahat ng fan ng gundam ay gunpla lang ang habol. Hinde rin lang ito ang merchandise na available. Maraming fan pa rin ang nag iindulge sa blue rays at novel. Remember, by product lang ng show ang gunpla sa simula. At dito lumalabas laki ng perspective niyong mga hater sa show. Reco tells you a good story, it is simply not meant to sell you toys.
so unless you're just one of those so called "fans" na parang pusang natutuwa sa isang dangling laser, ang animation ang pinakahuling bagay na aalahanin mo. Substance over flash.
ang build fighters ang isa sa pinaka masahol na example na pwede mong gamitin dahil nga sa ito ang exact 180 ng inenvision ni tomino sa franchise. Gundam is a war story, not just a soul-less toy commercial. Not to mention ang nakakasukang pandering ng build fighters sa mga mainstream gundam shows na nag lalack naman ng context.
and don't get me started sa try na nag devolve sa generic shounen show.
Sure it's fun na makita ibang mech na cameo sa show but the experience is ruined dahil nag ang seserve lang sila bilang fodder sa mga mc. Mas maganda pa rin ang isang full series na adaption.
matagal ng walang pakialam si tomino sa franchise buhat ng binili ng bandai ang gundam. Despite that, nakapag produce pa rin siya ng isang well thought out na gundam anime.
About sa 08th ms team, I'll say this again. Portrayal ito ng reyalidad na hinde black and white ang border ng morality sa giyera. Kung hinde shades of gray. Hinde ito battle between good and evil rather between different ideologies.
