Since wala pang thread with regards sa Nokia E5
Here it is! weeee!

Tipid at Sulit na sya! as of today (Jan 2011) the price for Nokia E5 is Php9800 to Php11000 depende kung san ka bibili (against E72 who is still around Php 14000 - Php 15000)

Parang halfway sya between

E72 -------> E5 -------> E73

but as of writing, wala pang E73 Pinas

The disadvantage E5 have against E72 are;

256K screen colors (E72 have 16M)
Autofocus Camera (Fixed Focus lang si E5 - which makes Macro Shots quite Difficult)
Memory Card NOT Hot Swappable (you'll need to detach the battery to remove / replace memory card)


Other than that E5 (256Mb) excel E72 (128Mb) - in terms of RAM
and E5 can support up to 32Gb of Memory Card against E72's 16Gb (but as of writing wala pa ring akong nakikitang 32Gb sa Pinas)

Since we know, there are lots of Applications and Games - na ma-i-install kung hacked ang phone mo -- i tried using HelloOX signed by our fellow symbianizers

The signed HelloOx installed successfully
ang problema ng sinubukan kong gamitin - it kept on installing "Root Cert"

i waited for around 20mins pero parang alang nangyari

pag check ko ng drive ko nagkaron ng drives

hindi ko sure kung ano ang nangyari or if im suppose to do something next or if i did something wrong or HelloOx cannot hack Nokia E5s yet (i just assumed it can -- since we have fellow symbianizers who reportedly have their E72s hacked by HelloOx)

Drakkarious Hack is out of the question since hindi ata kaya ng Drakkarious ang mga recent phones -- experience wise; i was able to hack Nokia N73 and Nokia 6120c using Drakkarious.


in any case if i somehow able to work around the hack -- i will post it here as well
but if you guys were able to hack it already, sobrang thanks kung ma sabi nyo rin kung paano nyo nagawa

ayaw tlagang gumana ng helloox sa E5,, ang ginagamit ko lang para makapag-install aq ng apps ay ung freesigner,, as of now ok nmn,, and for me best phone sa E-series ang E5..

however at least gumagana ang Freesigner

markem imagine this -- ang camera ng E5 ay 5MP, same as capture reso ng E72; kung i-rereview mo sa phone yung pictures; malinaw mo namang makikita yung image

i will not say that 16M is the same as 256K -- dahil malaki ang diperensya; but are you going to use your E5 to watch full movies? or are you a photo-enthusiast who will be needing it more? (because you have a PC or DVD for that); most of the time kasi you will just be looking on icons or messages or will browse websites. not scrutinizing life photos.

if you will be using your E5 as smartphone not as a PC where what you will need are the speed features remember ang RAM ng E5 ay 256MB against 128MB for example ng E72

of course kanya-kanya ng need if you have few thousand bucks to spare for an E72 (Php14,000 - 15,000) it is still a good buy, if you are willing to give Php23,000 to 24,000 go for the E73

thanks sa reply sir.. parang gusto ko na din bumili nito ah.. boring na kasi tong c6 ko.. hehe last month ko pa toh nabili.. laki pala ng ram ng E5..

ts mabilis po ba ang internet connection niya? nakalagay kasi sa gsmarena na 3G niya HSDPA 10mbps.. sakin kasi up to 3.6 mbps lang ito pero i doubt na umaabot yun sa speed na yun with the kind of telcos dito sa Pinas..

same lang ba 'to ng screen kay c3? si c3 kasi pag nakasideview kita mo yung glass pareho kasi silang 256k colors balak ko kasi bumili nito because of it's ram saka mas mura kesa e72 kahit autofocus pa siya

the issue with regards sa speed ng internet ay hindi nakabase sa phone kundi sa network kung saan sya nakaconnect -- and right again, ang speed HSDPA right now sa Pinas ay 3.6MBps

Pag natry mo sa loob ng malakas na wifi network yun talaga ang masaya
