BACKUP YOUR ROM USING MTK DROID TOOLS
1. Download MTK Droid Root & Tools from this link : http://www11.zippyshare.com/v/33578928/file.html
1.b Extract the contents of the file to a location you can easily go to. (e.g Desktop)
2. Enable USB Debugging on your Device and also put a tick mark on Stay Awake.
3. Connect the phone to your computer and lauch the "MTKdroidTools". It will detect your phone and wait for it to populate the Phone Informations Tab.
4. Once the program has finish populating the the information about about your phone, click on "root, backu, recovery" tab. Click on "root" button on the lower right and after a few minutes it will say that you need to do something on your phone. Do that procedure and your phone will reboot.
5. You will now see what the MTK Droid Root & Tools is doing on the right side of the of the screen.
Notes: What I noticed is it will create a backup for the sp flash tool on the location where you extracted the MTK Droid Root & Tools inside the backup folder. And also it created a CWM Backup version on my phone Im not sure if that is normal or not and there is also another backup of the one in the backup folder compressed inside backups. What I did is I just clicked "Yes" on all the pop up messages that the program had given. - CLICK HERE FOR THE PICTURE GUIDE -
INCREASE THE STORAGE APPLICATION FOR YOUR PHONE
Note : We need a rooted phone with TWRP/CWM as the recovery. Before proceeding make sure you have a backup copy of your rom. Backup using TWRP or CWMR. And also if you have Titanium Backup Pro you can use that to backup/restore your applications.
1. Download and install MTK Partition Tool on your device. Use the link.
2. Launch the MTK Repartition application and give it root privelages. Choose your desired storage. (Im using 1GB on my device)
3. Tap the right option to confirm. And tap again to reboot to recovery.
4. Once your in the recovery do a Factory Reset on your phone. (This will remove all the apps and games you have installed on your phone)
5. Reboot the phone when factory reset has been completed. Check if the Application Storage has been increased to your desired storage. You can now reinstall Titanium Backup to restore the application that was installed on your phone.
NOTE: Everytime you want to perform a Factory Reset on your phone do it on the CWM or TWRP Recovery. If you perform a factory reset under settings iit may cause your phone to bootlopp.
HOW TO BACKUP/RESTORE YOUR IMEI USING ROOT EXPLORER
Backup
Use RootExplorer to copy file /data/nvram/md/NVRAM/NVD_IMEI/MPOB_001 to your external SD card. (or if that folder does not exists, try /nvram/md/NVRAM/NVD_IMEI/MPOB_001)
Personally, I would backup the entire /data/nvram/md/NVRAM/* just in case. I believe your WiFi and BT MAC are in there too, maybe some other stuff. I advise to have the entire directory snugly in a zipped file on your SD card!
Restore
Use RootExplorer to copy back that backup MPOB_001 file from your external SD card into folder /data/nvram/md/NVRAM/NVD_IMEI/. (or if that folder does not exists, maybe /nvram/md/NVRAM/NVD_IMEI/.)
Afterward, set permissions to 0660 or rw-rw----
HOW TO USE SP FLASH TOOL
This is an alternative and more complex way as it could brick or fix your dead phone if it no longer turns on but when you connect it to your computer you hear a beep.
Needed Files:
- Mediatek USB VCOM DRIVERS
- SPFLASHTOOL (Pabura nalang nung CWM Folder sa loob pang ibang phone po iyun)
- Backup of your ROM. If you have not created one you can use ICS StOCK Rom by Pinoyscreencast
NOTE: Install the Mediatek USB VCOM Drivers before procedding. and extract the SP Flash Tool to a location where you can easily access it.
1. Remove the battery from your phone for 10 seconds and insert the battery back in.
2. Launch Flash Tool.exe and click on "Scatter Loading" and locate the file from the backup that you have made with MTK Droid Tools. You will notice it will load all the necessary files for flashing.
3. Uncheck the first two boxes (PRELOADER and DSP_BL)
NOTE: Im not sure if you need these two options checked if you are going to flash your own backup so on the safe side just untick both of them.
4. Click on the Download Button button and connect your phone to the computer. You will first see a red bar followed by a yellow bar indicating that it is flashing the backup.
5. Wait for the bar to reach 100% and you will see a pop up of a green circle. You can close that and disconnect the phone from the computer and turn it on normally. If everything goes well you will be back on your homescreen. If in case you see a message about encrypt to unlock restart to CWM/TWRP then do a factory reset then reboot the phone
Credits to "DR_MOOSAVI" for the screenshots. I have generally used this procedure to fix my Samsung Galaxy S3 clone which is running 4.1.9 and the same procedure applies.
Very important warning: Always make sure that you trust the sources of the ROM you download and know that it is meant for your phone.
After flashing a wrong preloader, your phone will be completely dead (can't be powered on, it will not charge and won't be detected anymore by the computer) and there is no way to recover it.
