May tut po bha kayo pano ma install yung netbeans 8.2 sa Ubuntu 18.04LTs na try kuna po lahat sa internet na solution eh wala paring effect. problem kopo kasi is after ko ma install yung netbeans sa ubuntu 18.04 ko gumagana po sya na after ko click nag loloading pero after laoding nawawala nlang po bigla

ngayon ko lang binuksan yung ubuntu VM ko ulit... ngayon lang ako maguupdate to 18.04

na-corrupt yung VM ko!!! nag-fail yung update 
downloading ako ngayon ng image tapos try ko recover-upgrade... kung ayaw pa rin, clean install na lang
bahala na kung anong nawalang setup

After watching yung vid ng LTT about gaming on linux, i have decided to install manjaro.
So far, formatting pa rin yung boot hdd. Tinanggal ko muna ibang drives at nahihirapan ako configure sa setup.
I have to repair my Windows installation later dahil na corrupt nung sinamahan ko ng 2nd hdd na may windows na naka install. Nawalan ng sounds at na disable ang start menu. Daming services din nawala
Will update my post about manjaro later pag napagana ko na steam
update1: finally succeeded in running and installing manjaro kde.
my mistakes:
currently updating stuffs... will try to install nvidia drivers and finally, steam/dota
update 2: daming beses ko nag-reformat from my previous update
may sinundan akong steps sa pag-install ng nvidia drivers... after nun.. blank screen... wala... reformat again
heto na sana last... then, nag-update ako ng kernel to v5 something... patay na naman
buti may option to select a different kernel sa special boot-up... removed the v5, and added v4.20...
so far, updating mirrors for pacman while installing dota2
already installed chromium. need to test kung gumana nga yung nvidia driver
update 3: alright
tested yung dota 2 and it runs like in windows
currently downloading cs:go
about sa nvidia driver, wala na akong ginawang ibang procedure maliban sa install sa Hardware Configuration na system settings module
i just reboot everytime i made a change para safe at alam ko kung saan ako nagkamali
conclusion: hell yeah!
dota 2 and cs:go tested and working perfectly like in windows
di nga napansin ng utol ko na linux gamit ko nung tinest nya eh
also installed Discover Software center para may App store ng KDE distro packages
added Lutris for future reference kung may iba pang games na gusto laruin
added Chromium instead of chrome as browser. currently trying to get ARC welder to run android games... tagal mag-load ng APK
problema ko lang yung multi-boot ko with windows... i have to manually change boot sequence sa uefi/bios just to boot from one OS to another. anyways, i might be only using this OS maybe 2~3x a week if i get bored in windows.

- downloaded the iso na hindi livemedia version at console ang installation. select the simple versions instead.
- i could not understand the mounting process nung sa console mode
- nagloloko ang pag-burn sa rufus. may error about gpt version... tapos though success yung pagka-write mo ng image, ayaw magboot sa flashdrive, gpt recovery mode i just used windows imgwriter and it worked

changed distro to Pop OS 19.04
bale, based sya sa ubuntu pero mas pinadali ang usage with more updated repos
(based on reviews)
UI theme has a flat android-ish interface... looks modern for today's standard
nvidia drivers already pre-installed
installation was very easy

migrated from Pop!OS to Ubuntu 22.10
may mga dinagdag ako sa extensions manager para mabago yung quick settings at animation.
got steam (dota2) and diabo3 (lutris) working again
sa susunod ko na lang install yung qemu+virtmanager

Debian Stable (GNOME) naman trip ko these days lol pero sarap din nga mag distro hop pa-minsan minsan.
Sa gaming POP! OS talaga.
Negats na talaga ako sa Ubuntu -- not even worth recommending to newbies despite how popular it is, mas ok pa Linux Mint / LMDE, POP! OS at iba pang mga Ubuntu-based.
For absolute beginners switching from Windows, Linux Mint pa din ang best option for me.
Sa gaming POP! OS talaga.

malamang yung latest release ng debian yung gamit mo. ang laki ng improvement ng interface ng bagong gnome
natuwa sana ako nung sinubukan ko, kaso mas maraming feature at mas madaling gamitin linux mint para sakin
feel ko parang debloated ubuntu sya
pero may mga features kasi ibang distro na na-appreciate ko for usability pop!os iniwan ko na, wala kasing update ng matagal na... atsaka madalas mga nasisirang feature na di ko masolve
pero na-appreciate ko yung ease of driver support nya para sa mga gpu drivers ng either amd or nvidia sa VM lang ako nagtetest ng ibang distro... minsan sinusubukan live boot kung natuwa ako sa vm

Yup, debian 12 bookworm. Hanap ko na kasi ngaun ung mga pinakamalapit sa upstream, LTS at ultra stable -- medyo graduate na sa mga derivatives at less options din for me. Lalo na sa ngaun with flatpack, snap, app images, debian backports at containerized web apps -- I can pretty much get any package / app na kailangan ko na meron sa linux at web. Paborito ko ngayon yung webapp-manager na created ng Linux Mint team originally para sa LM.
Ang Windows for me para na lang talaga sa gaming at kung dependent ka talaga sa ilang mga Windows apps due to work-related reasons siguro, etc.
Wala na nga ako ngayong Windows machine kasi hindi na ako naglalaro sa PC. Main laptop ko naman ay Mac kasi deep na ako sa Apple ecosystem pero itong second laptop ko na may kalumaan na ang naka debian. Iba din talaga ang satisfaction at mas masaya lang talaga gumamit ng Linux LOL unmatched ang GNOME para sakin kumpara sa GUI ng Windows 10/11 at MacOS Ventura/Sonoma Beta. Windows 12 looks promising tho, mga concept pa lang ata ung mga napapanoood ko na videos nun.
Ang Windows ko ay VM na lang hahaha kung maglalaro man ako bubuo na lang ako dedicated Windows PC para pang laro lang at pang-ipon ng mga malware at virus WAHAHAHAHA
