Hi all! the point of this thread is to help mobilarian Switch enthusiasts to install cfw in the easiest way possible(and BTW it's free).
Important:
a. CFWs aren't permanent yet, you need to launch it every time you restart or reboot.(work around: put your switch to sleep mode and charge it regularly/ buy a payload injector)
b. it's easier to use auto rcm than using a jig + need of holding 2 buttons every time you restart your Switch.
c. booting to CFW, installing NSPs, using homebrew app is a guaranteed ban. make sure to restore your clean NAND backup when you're going online.
I. Overview:
a. get a switch that is vulnerable to fusee gelee exploit
b. enter recovery mode()
c. inject/boot to Hekate
d. BACKUP YOUR NAND<--important
e. boot to CFW
f. install homebrew/switch games
g. profit!!
II. Requirements:
a. Hackable switch unit. enter your serial number on the link below to check if your unit is patched or not:
https://damota.me/ssnc/checker/
NOTE: the best way to verify if you have a hackable unit is to inject a payload. if meron ka ng unit and you found out na patched sya, better luck next time na lang.
b. at least 32gb micro SD card formatted to 1. fat32(advantage: well supported by homebrew apps; downside: 4gb max file) or 2. exfat(advantage: no file size limitation; downside: it may cause microsd corruption on some homebrew apps and the need to update your OFW to 5xx that can burn fuse or use ChoiDujourNX for fuseless update.)
c. Files
1.Kosmos
2. TegraRcmGUI
3.hekate
d. paper clip or jig:
Jig:
- this goes to the right side of the joycon rail:
if you prefer to use a paper clip, check google or youtube na lang
e. usb type c to usb 3.0
i suggest you to get this one kasi may mga cheap connector na nakaksira ng switch:
III. Booting to RCM(recovery mode):
To actually boot to RCM, power off your Switch, insert your "jig" (or ground pin 10 with a paper clip) and press/hold VOLUME UP + POWER BUTTON. kapag nag boot si switch, repeat the step. maybe di grounded ang mga pins o may problema ka sa paper clip. dapat totally black screen sya. and don't do anything else.
IV. Injecting payload
i'm gonna cover 2 methods coz they're technically the same. pwede ka din gumamit ng android or ios phone.
a. PC running on windows or a
b. a payload injector(sample payload injectors from Aliexpress)
PART II
I. Step by step Installation:
1. Insert SD card to your PC.
2. Download and extract everything from "KosmosXXXX.zip" to your SD card.
3. Insert SD to your Switch.
a. for PC:
1. Run "TegraRcmGUI_vX.X_installer.msi" to install TegraRCMGUI (follow on-screen instructions).
2. Launch "TegraRCMGUI".
- install drivers if needed
- "Setting" -> "Install Driver"
3. extract "hekate_ctcaer_X.X.bin" from "hekate_ctcaer_X.X.zip" to your preferred location.
4. Boot your Switch to RCM via your preferred method. Don't do anything else.
5. Connect Switch to your PC.
6. Find and select "hekate_ctcaer_X.X.bin" under "Select payload:" and hit "Inject payload".
- Your Switch should now be in Hekate bootloader.
b. for payload injector: please refer to your product manual for instructions on how to upload the injector file in the device. difference lang nila is sa mismong injector nang gagaling yung payload na "hekate_ctcaer_X.X.bin" file. it should be very easy and straightforward.
II. NAND backup:
1. from Hekate bootloader, look at "Tools" -> "Backup"
2. backup mo raw gpp at boot0/1. it's gonna take time so relax ka muna. later on, you can power off your switch and copy your backup files to another storage (somewhere safe).
III. Launch CFW:
10. On your Switch, select "Launch" (with POWER BUTTON).
11. Choose CFW (move with VOLUME UP/DOWN, POWER BUTTON to select).
IV. Access Homebrew launcher:
Simply go to the album to launch homebrew launcher. Kosmos package includes:
-Homebrew Menu
-Homebrew Loader
-AppstoreNX
-EdiZon
-KosmosUpdater
-Sys-FTPD
-Sys-netcheat
-Hekate
-Checkpoint
NOTE: you can add more homebrew apps by putting your .nro files to sdmc:/switch/
V. Install switch games(NSP format):
put your downloaded nsp files on: sdmc:/tinfoil/nsp
Installing nsp is pretty straightforward
1. open tinfoil from homebrew launcher > title management > install nsp
that's all! sana nakatulong
