I don't exactly know, but I guess audacity is good too...

DISAGREE. FL ain't only for hip-hop nor electronic. Actually it all depends on "The producers" or what others call as beat makers. I actually use FL Studio in a number of genre's. You can also do band there every DAW is flexible you just have to know how to use it. But if you don't find FL Studio helpful to you. I guess what you need is a more complex "Sequencer" and not actually a DAW. For me a Sequencer and a DAW has different specifications.

I have more things to say but I don't have the time today, so here are my some of my suggestions of Sequencers that you might find useful...

• Cubase
• Pro Tools
• Acid Pro
• Nuendo
• Adobe Auditions
• Mixcraft
• Reaper
• Ableton (Part Sequencer / Part DAW)
• Logic Pro (Mac Users only)
• Ohm Studio (Latest DAW, it's like Ableton X Logic Pro)

Bago lang ako sa mundo ng DAW's at music production, pero gusto ko talagang matuto. So far nakagamit na ko ng FL Studio and Mixcraft. More on beginners daw kasi yung interface ng Mixcraft, yung FL studio naman para sakin more on hip-hop/rnb music. As a beginner, ano po ang mas magandang software na gamitin? I'm aiming to produce country/pop songs haha sana
