Hi guys,

I started this thread to help everyone wanting a new computer. All you need to do is post the following:
Code:
budget:
usage:

other miscellaneous requirements:

*If to be used for gaming,. please indicate the games you wish to play.

The prices i will be using are those that come from major shops in gilmore and also PCexpress and others... The prices will only reflect that of which on the date of my post.

also please put your requests in this format:

Processor:
Motherboard:
RAM:

Video Card:

Hard Drive:
Optical Drive:

Power Supply:
Casing:

monitor:

Accessories:

please indicate (at least)the size of the hard disk desired, and also what you need/have/prefer.

Thanks.

How to get to Gilmore:
commuting... From EDSA get on the MRT to Cubao and take the other train and get off at Gilmore station. so easy.
driving... Via aurora is the easiest way from EDSA. anyway, just ask na lang cos i dunno where you'll be coming from.

An example post would be as follows:
Hi. Please help me buy a computer for my son. He will be using it mainly for school and some games. He likes to play Dota and L4D. Our budget for the PC would be 20K. We already have a printer, monitor and speakers. Our monitor is a 17" CRT monitor. My son said he prefers 1gb video card.

Thank you.

(GPU: ASUS ROG STRIX OC 8Gb GTX 1080. Binili ko po last week sa dynaquest. =34,200).
Prices are all in Pchub except sa GPU sa dynaquest ko po binili last week.

mas ok si 3200 mghz at base sa specs ng mobo m up to 3200 mghz kya nia bsahin...mas mtaas n frenquency mas mganda kng kng ggmitin m built in gpu ni r5 2400g

any atx sized psu will fit
evga 450bv (2100) is highly recommended

Mas OK po ba yung 3200mhz DDR4 Ram sa ryzen 5 2400G (Mobo - MSI B450m pro M2)? or mag 2800mhz nalang po ako?

3000mhz seems to be the most optimal speed for ryzen apu based on benchmarks... mukhang wala ng significant effect anything higher :noidea:
but, i might be wrong and could be remedied on newer firmware and OS updates :noidea:

overkill ata PSU mo... platinum rated :panic: panalo na ang +700w gold rated na seasonic eh
cpu cooler, any 240, 280 or 360 AIO liquid coolers will do  base reference would be corsair h100i.. pero kung gusto mo ng rgb, marami ng model dyan na pagpipilian... medyo mahal nga lang 6~9k

for the ryzen build, they usually recommend X470 chipsets kung R7 na ilalagay mo kasi those boards have better power delivery system generally compared against their B450 counterpart.

Q : Worth it ba additional 1.5k sa Gold?
A : in the long run, yes. you actually save more money on more expensive PSU's (higher rated) in the long run due to their efficiency rating kasi more than 90% yun against sa bronze na around 85% lang. and you can be sure na magagamit mo pa yung psu na yun kung sakaling gusto mo ng magpalit ng bagong system

Q: Worth it ba to go for SSHD for additional 1k?
A: no ... i think there are caching software out there that can basically do the same ng sshd... kung intel ang pipiliin mo, Optane is really good... sa AMD side naman, you can use their StoreMi to do basically the same as optane on software level.

Q: Tingen nyo effective StoreMi ng AMD?
A: answered above. search mo na lang sa youtube storeMI test results... yung sa level1techs ata yung napanood ko... di ko lang matandaan kung saan pa :noidea: considering na you won't spend more, it's a great option for storage caching na dati available lang sa industrial level

about sa gold vs platinum, refer to my answer above. :read:
yes, magkaiba ang PSU (Power Supply Unit) sa UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply). ang PSU, yan ang heart ng pc mo at sya ang nagsu-supply ng necessary voltage, current at power sa mga components ng pc mo... while ang UPS ay back-up battery lang naman para just in case na brown-out, you'll have enough time to save your work before shutting down your pc... but they are not generators... depende sa load ng system mo, most UPS can supply up to 10mins of juice to your system, but generally depends on the power capacity of the UPS in terms of VA (volt-ampere). UPS also functions as surge protection. yung mga true rated PSU typically meron na ring surge protection para di masira mga components mo unlike those generic PSU's. but it doesn't hurt to have multiple redundant safety features like that kesa masunog mga components mo
kung saan ikakabit, well, sa wall outlet... tapos yung PC mo, including monitor ay dun mo naman isasaksak sa UPS.

edit: ok, found reference to StoreMI and it really is supported across all 400 series chipset and X399 threadripper mobos

I'm planning to upgrade my PC, kaso tight budget ako ngayon so gusto ko sana ng future proof na budget build muna para may magamit agad for Programming (Web and mobile app development) at casual gaming for esports like dota2. then tingi tingi na upgrades haha.

- and if ano pong mga mobo ang pwedeng alternative ng Asrock b450m pro 4 na similar sa price nya baka kasi walang stocks dito samin. or if may mas magandang budget mobo po kayo na ma susuggest na may decent overclocking capabilities
- also do i choose ryzen 3 2200g over 5 2400g for this path?

currently meron akong:

outdated processor/mobo/ram
vs 450 psu
720p monitor
500 HDD
atx case

current budget for upgrade is good for:

ryzen 3 2200g / ryzen 5 2400g
ASRock b450m pro 4 / or ?
single stick 8 GB 3200mhz ram

Future upgrades (in order):

- single stick 8 GB 3200mhz ram
- m.2 ssd

- 1080p 144hz free sync monitor

- PSU

- GPU rx 570/580/something similar (pag medyo bumaba na price haha)

- CPU ryzen 7 3rd gen (pag meron na)

Thanks mga master~ :)

CPU Cooler: ??? as much as possible may LED - 3000 budget
Case Fan: ??? as much as possible RGB 4 (about 4 fans) - 2000 budget

aahhh... thanks for the info about z370  i'm not interested in intel's line-up kaya i barely kept their updates at the back of my mind
seriously, 9th gen sucks... nawala lahat ng hyperthreading except for the i9... z390 is what z370 should have been in the first place with very minor upgrades and differences. yung soldered thermal interface material is just slightly better than the 8th gen pero kung nag-OC ka na, iinit rin ng husto yung cpu mo :slap: ganun din case ng 8600k vs 9600k... "slightly higher" clock speeds? wtf!
well, i'm just ranting here  let's just say that i want them to do more
about sa case: it's superficial and subjective to the buyer kaya baka yung gusto ko, di mo naman gusto... and also on how much are you willing to spend
try looking at inwin 503, cooler master master box lite 5, inwin 101, cooler master masterbox ms600, inwin 101 type c, fractal design define mini, phanteks eclipse p400
cpu cooler and case fan with rgb: sorry, i hate rgb kaya i can't recommend one.

Hi po. pa advice po pls hehe. I'm planning to upgrade my PC, kaso tight budget ako ngayon so gusto ko sana ng future proof na budget build muna para may magamit agad for Programming (Web and mobile app development) at casual gaming for esports like dota2. then tingi tingi na upgrades haha.

- and if ano pong mga mobo ang pwedeng alternative ng Asrock b450m pro 4 na similar sa price nya baka kasi walang stocks dito samin. or if may mas magandang budget mobo po kayo na ma susuggest na may decent overclocking capabilities
- also do i choose ryzen 3 2200g over 5 2400g for this path?

currently meron akong:

outdated processor/mobo/ram
vs 450 psu
720p monitor
500 HDD
atx case

current budget for upgrade is good for:

ryzen 3 2200g / ryzen 5 2400g
ASRock b450m pro 4 / or ?
single stick 8 GB 3200mhz ram

Future upgrades (in order):

- single stick 8 GB 3200mhz ram
- m.2 ssd

- 1080p 144hz free sync monitor

- PSU

- GPU rx 570/580/something similar (pag medyo bumaba na price haha)

- CPU ryzen 7 3rd gen (pag meron na)

Thanks mga master~ :)

alternative mobo: MSI B450M Mortar (5690) or MSI B450 Gaming Plus (6650)
ryzen 2200g or 2400g: kung may balak ka magpalit ng cpu in the future, 2200g. kung wala na, 2400g. the later's igpu is slightly better than a 2200g rin kaya mapagta-tyagaan na habang wala pang dedicated GPU. yung cpu ng 2400g with 4 cores and 8 threads is very capable already  kaya pwede mong allocate na lang budget mo sa better GPU
sa M.2 SSD, take note of NVME mukhang pareho hitsura nila pero mas mahal ang nvme kasi almost 4x ang speed nya sa normal SSD. ang only advantage ng M.2 SATA ay size lang sa regular na SATA SSD which is recommended on small form factor builds.
ryzen 7 on b450 is ok... pero most tech-tubers usually recommend a X470 if you are gonna use an R7 because of better power delivery on the motherboard. you'll get better overclocking potential and stability. not to mention, better sound chip, more m.2 slots, more usb ports, better wifi and lan cards, etc.

> Gigabyte B450 Aorus Pro - 7000
> Gigabyte X470 Aorus Ultra Gaming - 8700
> Gigabyte Aorus AX370 Gaming 5 - 9750

Salamat talaga madame idol.

about sa gold vs platinum, refer to my answer above. :read:
yes, magkaiba ang PSU (Power Supply Unit) sa UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply). ang PSU, yan ang heart ng pc mo at sya ang nagsu-supply ng necessary voltage, current at power sa mga components ng pc mo... while ang UPS ay back-up battery lang naman para just in case na brown-out, you'll have enough time to save your work before shutting down your pc... but they are not generators... depende sa load ng system mo, most UPS can supply up to 10mins of juice to your system, but generally depends on the power capacity of the UPS in terms of VA (volt-ampere). UPS also functions as surge protection. yung mga true rated PSU typically meron na ring surge protection para di masira mga components mo unlike those generic PSU's. but it doesn't hurt to have multiple redundant safety features like that kesa masunog mga components mo
