Everyone from fans to Warner Bros. executives are hoping that Justice League is going to be another hit for the DC Extended Universe. After all, it took three goes before the franchise broke into critics’ good books with Wonder Woman earlier this year and fingers are crossed that it’ll do so again with the upcoming tentpole.

Thankfully, the first review for the film has now arrived online and it’s extremely positive. Over in China, members of the press attended a special screening held by Warner Bros., at which the first 30 minutes of Justice League were shown. We still don’t have an analysis of the entire pic, then, but the first half hour of the movie is apparently “brilliant.”
The review was translated into English by a multilingual fan (or at least, one who’s adept at using Google Translate), and you can check it out below.

“Watched half hour of Justice League movie, it’s absolutely the most mature work of DCEU film so far. In this film, they explored the deepest possibility of this cinematic universe. The footage showed film balance well. Every hero has their brilliant moment. The whole movie attitude is very positive but also continued to explore very serious topics like Divinity/humanity. There are numerous characters in this film, but they all felt noble and mighty. They don’t dazzle you with a bunch of costume clowns so call Superheroes. After Wonder Woman’s triumph, this year DC will definitely shine in this genre. We don’t get to see Supes in the footage, but his spirit Inspiring others through the whole thing. All in all, people gonna love to paying for seeing this!”

It’s certainly encouraging to hear that Justice League is the “most mature” entry into the DCEU so far. This doesn’t mean that it’ll be overly serious, though, as the reviewer notes that it mixes the drama with a lot of positivity. The exploring of themes of “divinity/humanity” sounds interesting, too, and could be a continuation of the subtext from director Zack Snyder’s previous movies. Namely, Man of Steel and Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice.

Also worth noting here is that Superman will not appear in the first half hour of the film. Although, we might still see Lois’ dream of Clark Kent, as was depicted in the most recent trailer.
With Justice League landing on November 17th, the first full reviews should be right around the corner now. Let’s just hope that most of them are as glowing as this one.

Also, I don't know where the hell did some of the posters in manofsteelgiveshope page get the info that zeus and other greek gods are the old gods. Smh. When it's specifically elaborated on darkseid's back story in darkseid wars and jack kirby's other works that they're different.

History

The Old Gods lived in the world of Urgrund that existed in the prior universe who could manufacture weapon beyond the comprehension of any other being. This realm was noted for being a paradise and known as the Third World though it had also been known by other names such as Asgard and Valhalla. At some point, their world became bathed in blood with a war being waged among their kind where they butchered one another. The Mageddon weapon was sent across the shining bridge to obliterate Joyous Home that was the star-city of the Old Gods. During this time, one among their number known as Gog claimed to had condemned the war and refused to pick a side. As a result, he was cast out and fell through the cracks between dimensions across numerous parallel universes before crashing on Earth. In their final moment, indescribable power was unleashed that proved to be fatal for the Old Gods as their home was split asunder.

This destructive act that shattered the Old God's home led to the formation of two new planets known as Apokolips and New Genesis. On these worlds arose a new race of deities known as the New Gods who believed that it was the forsaking of purpose that destroyed the Old Gods. After their destruction, knowledge of their kind was unknown among the New Gods though Metron's research managed to determine some of their history. This included the archaeo-technology such as the Mageddon that was named from the language of New Genesis. On Apokolips, deep underground resided a ruined city where the undead Dreggs who were the bodies of the Old Gods that roamed the area aimlessly.

The New 52

According to the Trickster Kaiyo following the Flashpoint, the Old Gods once lived as deities above those that would become the New Gods. In this time, these ancient titanic beings survived on the faith generated by the beings beneath them. Such individuals prayed for their survival amid the clashes between the Old Gods. This was until a young Uxas tired of their ways and held nothing but contempt for them unlike his brother Ixaya. In time, Uxas decided to plot against the Old Gods and he traveled to their home where he whispered words to turn each of them against one another. In addition, he acquired a weapon that sapped the energy of these godly beings and slayed each one where their combined power turned him into the being known as Darkseid. One of the dying Old Gods was petitioned by Ixaya who asked the deity to save his wife Avia. However, the Old God instead in his dying moments gave his cosmic power to Ixaya turning him into the Highfather. Thus, the Old Gods died and the New Gods were born to replace them.


Nabasa ko rin yang issue na yan ni darkseid na kasama sa superman vs darkseid tbp. Pinakita ang back story ni uxas na later naging si darkseid at ang brother niyang naging si high father ng new genesis.

Ang mageddon na nabanggit sa info is yung nasa pict. Na featured siya sa issue 41 ng JLA 1997 run. Yung parang maliit na bolang apoy na nasa harap is yung anti sun lolz at ang dalawang maliliit na tuldok, sila metron, big barda, diana at orion yan.

Ang mageddon din ang isa sa mga pinaka massive na object/superweapon na nahatak ni superman! Lolz :rofl:

Mageddon looks smaller than brainiac's ship in new 52 superman:doomed. I think that feat is more impressive even with martian manhunter's help.

Confession: I kinda liked scott snyder's death of the family and court of owls. But the ending was all, eh... Hit or miss sakin karaniwan mga works niya. He either writes batman as incompetent (*cough court of owls* * *death of the family*) or this wanked version sa metal :lol:

Besides, naka set sa dark multiverse ang mga backstory ng mga metal knights. Hinde sa earth 0.

if you have time to go to Trinoma today guys Warner Bros is holding an event there specifically for DC fans and also promoting the Justice League movie, it has lots of collection display and some activities, you can also use #Unitethefans and #JusticeLeague when posting pics from that event, see you there
